Mari J.

We've been coming to the Kid's Empire Monrovia location 3-4 times a week ever since they introduced the Summer Pass, and it has become one of our favorite places to take the kids. This is a wonderful indoor playground for children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. There are plenty of tables for parents to sit and relax, and the play areas are spacious, well-maintained, and feel very safe. They also have motorcycle rides (which require purchased tokens) and a few claw machines and stuffed animal games for extra fun. One thing that really impressed me is how seriously they take cleanliness. I've stayed until closing and watched the staff thoroughly clean and sanitize the entire play area. They even have to report everything they've cleaned each night, which gives me great peace of mind as a parent. We loved this place so much that we decided to have our child's birthday party here, and it was an amazing experience. Anthony was incredibly helpful before, during, and after the party. Melody, Amanda, Leila, and Jocelyn were also wonderful and made sure everything went smoothly. While planning the party, Jessie, Jaime, Jose, and Jaylene were all friendly, patient, and very helpful. I also want to give a special shout-out to Andrew. Every time we've visited while he was working, I've noticed how attentive he is. He always makes sure the children are playing safely, especially around the slides, and he takes the time to talk to the kids with kindness and encouragement. The air conditioning is excellent, which makes a big difference on hot days. They also offer reasonably priced snacks and treats for hungry kids. Parking has never been a problem, with plenty of spaces available. Overall, Kid's Empire Monrovia is truly a gem in the San Gabriel Valley. The caring staff, clean facility, safe environment, and fun atmosphere keep us coming back week after week. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a fun place for their children to play!

Big space for kids to run in hot weather ! And staffs were very helpful

Place is clean, staff is friendly. Nice assortment of caffeinated drinks for the parents. The kids always have a good time.

Such a fun and safe environment for the kiddos! I bring my 3 boys here all the time when they need to burn off steam. They are ages four, seven, and nine and we have been coming for a few years. I love how it is a great place for very small children and the bigger kids! There is a separate play area with softer materials for children still in diapers. Plenty of tables for parents to sit around and take a break. I just wish they would let you bring in your own food, but they do sell some snacks. Plenty of parking at this location as well! I've come here for birthday parties, and the kids have a good time. It's not a place that I would personally book, because you do share the space with lots of other people. But the kids have fun, so I can't complain too much.

Tables on point

I want to take a moment to recognize Hailey at Kids Empire because she provided absolutely AMAZING customer service! From the moment we arrived she was so friendly welcoming and attentive. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about their job and about the customers they are helping and Hailey is definitely one of those people. She was incredibly patient kind helpful and professional. She made us feel welcomed and cared for and honestly made our experience so much better. Hailey deserves to be recognized for the wonderful job she is doing. Customer service like hers is hard to find nowadays and she truly stands out. She didn't just do the bare minimum -- she went above and beyond and made sure we had a great experience. Thank you Hailey for being so kind and for making our visit such a positive one! Kids Empire is lucky to have someone like you on their team. We will definitely be coming back and I hope management knows what an amazing employee they have!

We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't crowded at all. Everything was nicely kept and clean. Bathrooms were clean as well.

Leila and Amanda at Kids Empire are the best ! I bring my kids here and every so often. The crew is generally very nice, and they keep the place clean. There are some super slides as seen in the pictures, kids love it. A couple of claw games keeps the adults entertained as needed I wanted to thank Leila and Amanda particularly as they were very thoughtful to my family's overall experience at KE. They tried to keep my table clean, they reached for the drinks in the back hoping to get the coldest ones for my kids, they were polite to not let other people cut in line. These were little things they didn't need to do but it was noticeable they went out of the way to make sure everyone had a good time but also a safe time. Thank you

When I do come to Kids Empire, I come to this one as it's closest and the cleanest to LA. Their staff is friendly and on top of the rules. Shout out to Hailey, very helpful.

Great place for kids and adults! We came to celebrate my niece's 7 try birthday and the kids had a blast. The kids and parents enjoyed the structure. Pizza was great! The dragon was a hit! The parade and dancing was fun!

Big kid play area

My kids love this place. They have a section for little ones with "Diapers Only" and a bigger section for the big kids. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

Ask the Community - Kids Empire Monrovia

What is your covid policy?

None. It's a free for all. I'll consider myself lucky if I don't contract C-19 after being here for 15 minutes.

Do they do birthday parties here?

Yes but not private. They said you can call corporate and MAYBE based on your headcount get a private party. But yes they do birthdays with dark lights and music and their mascot Dragon comes out.

Any plans on changing the cost to host a party? $40 per child for two slices of pizza? That's excessive. I don't see KE hosting many parties with those ridiculously high prices.

I agree, the price seems excessive comparing to other birthday venues.

Do they offer a monthly play pass discount option?? If so, how much is the monthly pass?

We do not offer a monthly pass but a Punchcard. It is loaded with 10 Child admissions at a discounted rate that never expires. The Punchcard cost $129 and can be used on multiple visits with multiple children.

We recently attended a birthday party here on a Saturday at 4pm. The hosts had 2 party rooms booked. First, none of the tablets at the front were working properly to sign the waivers, and the staff won't let you through the locked door to the main space until the waiver is done for each adult and child entering. I went to an employee, and later to a manager, and they both eventually shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know what was going on and walked away without resolving the issue. Eventually, a 3rd person came to assist, but the damage was already done. I was overheated and my kid was screaming and crying his head off while I tried to wrangle him with 1 hand, confused as to why we were inside the door, but not allowed into the play area. Second, the heat. THE HEAT. It was a 90+ degree day outside and no exaggeration, it had to have been in the 80s throughout this entire place. I understand the machines keeping the inflatables inflated are probably leaking lukewarm air everywhere. However, this is a no brainer at an enclosed bounce house park, so why the AC wasn't cranked down to 60, I don't know. I think the insane amount of neon lights they have everywhere in this place was adding to the heat, too. They ended up giving my GF a partial refund on her party because it was so miserably hot the entire time. Third, the place isn't setup safely for younger kids whatsoever, which basically forces you as parents to get into the bounce house to watch over your kids. In theory, the setup is wise because there's a front door, then locked lower doors separating the entrance to the play space, then the limited seating they have available is right after that, so if your kid tried to sneak out the front, it would be really hard not to see that because he/she would have to pass by the tables of parents and somehow be let out of the locked mini doors that only employees can open. However, what made no sense to me is the number of exit routes all over the bounce house structure. I counted at least 3, only blocked off by a plastic curtain that I saw multiple kids run out of. Those curtains are supposed to be for employees only, but what kid will that stop to see that signage? Very few. To make matters worse, the bounce house is way too big for the suite it's in, so where the curtain doors let out are extremely narrow hallway-like spaces that are dimly lit and mostly dump out into the back of the suite where there are exit doors and employees-only real doors. You could easily lose your kid in this mess, and it quite literally wouldn't be hard for your kid to be snatched and taken out a back door and you'd never see that from the front of the suite. Fourth, the entire place is not clean. I get this is the culture of a place like this, so when I give this spot this label, you know there's a reason. I watched 2 teenage employees "clean" a pile of fresh puke up inside one of the high traffic areas of the bounce house with a single paper towel and a small spritz of cleaner. They then walked away, not effectively ever cleaning the mess, putting up signage, or doing anything at all. I wanted to barf, as the barf spot they "cleaned" was right on a seam of the bounce house, so all that barf just remained there in those crevices that 100 more kids probably walked on all day. Last, the party system here is as greedy as they come. We also hosted our kid's birthday party at a place like this (Kids Empire in Monrovia), so I'm very aware of how the pricing and packages of this place compare to other indoor play places because I did a lot of research on these places before I booked the place we chose. This place was a lot more expensive than other similar options and getting to observe the system they had in place just made me sad. The party rooms are in the very back, all crammed together and virtually just the size of public bathrooms. It's dimly lit back there and very dungeon-ish. The capacity marked on the individual rooms was 50-60, which is insane to imagine because our 2 rooms with maybe 20-25 adults and kids in them at a time were SO packed. We were right next to the employee room, and I could see the full white board of the parties scheduled for the day - they literally schedule parties on top of one another. You'll hear an announcement in the main space when your party's wristband color is up, meaning the party limit (I think it was 2-3 hours) is done, so you need to head back to your party room and get your things. The announcements were right on the hour, yet when we exited promptly to our party room, they had already ripped down over half of my GF's stuff and had another kid's party setup! Scheduling parties literally on top of one another at this price point is just absurd.

We never liked the "entrance fee" that I obviously know about and I stand by what I said: ADULTS ARE FORCED TO ORDER THEIR SUBPAR OVERPRICED FOOD FOR ENTRY aside from the entrance fee for their kids. The SGV eats post - I wasn't talking about one post. Geraldyne has posted several times and most of those times people have chimed in with their experiences and she removed her entire posts so people won't find the comments. Once again, trust the low star ratings. If you read them, you'll see a lot of them echo what I've posted here. --- If you have a toddler or a young kid, avoid this place. Read the lower rated reviews, because those paint a more accurate picture than glowing reviews from people who got discounts to this place. Adults are forced to order a meal as an entrance fee, and all the choices are subpar and overpriced. There was only one lovely staff member, an African American woman that unfortunately seemed to have left, because everyone else were not friendly nor helpful, and are barely present. The husband who supposedly cooks the meal made the driest, toughest, inedible steak salad and I couldn't even get help with my meal because there was no staff around to help, and whenever the husband came out, he would just be zipping in and out so fast I couldn't even catch him, and I couldn't leave my daughter by herself. The food choices for kids are also subpar. The play area itself is also subpar. There's very little options to play with, and whatever is there are mostly broken toys or have missing parts. The "separate" area for younger kids are always a huge mess to the point where it's safer for a 1-2 yr old to be in the general area with how disorganized it is. It's nothing but an afterthought, and bigger kids go there to mess up that area all the time No one really goes to clean up or check the play areas periodically, so even though it's part of their "rules", you see kids throwing toys at other kids, kids leaving messes around, etc. The positive reviews about these place are probably from people who've only been there once and have had some sort of discount. As a previous repeat customer who tried to give this place multiple chances, it is nothing but a cash-grab by greedy owners who care nothing about kids. The owner, Geraldine, also loves to promote her business on Facebook groups, and even whine about lack of "support" from people, but when previous customers try to make suggestions or anything remotely resembling a valid criticism, she'll remove the post so no one sees it. It's very dishonest, and shows what kind of people run this business. There are better places to go to entertain kids in SGV, don't waste your time and money here.
