Expect Coach Lauren to kick her off the team and remind you of the precious "Contract". We understand the importance of being a team player and have proven to be great team players but feel this is ridiculous. Coach Lauren is no stranger to double standards as she has been out many days recently due to medical reasons but she was allowed to come back. Lesson learned, thank you Coach Lauren!

Each class has a curriculum of skills to master. Their most popular day is Tuesday, when they offer both salsa and bachata classes for all levels. They also their dance social at 10pm that day. Shoutout to the instructors, especially Hannah, Michael, Morgan, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Marcus, and Favian - they are all fabulous! I would also highly recommend taking private lessons with them to accelerate your learning and get personalized feedback.

When I arrived, I went to the front desk, made a purchase, and signed up for the next two classes. I specifically explained that I was brand new. At no point was I told that one of the classes I had just signed up for was an advanced class that a beginner would clearly not be prepared for. That alone would have been frustrating, but mistakes happen. What bothered me much more was the complete lack of effort from the coach. As a brand-new face walking into an advanced class, I would have expected the coach to at least introduce himself, ask about my experience level, or give me some idea of what was going on. None of that happened. Not before class, not during class, and not afterward. Instead, I spent the better part of an hour stumbling around trying to figure things out on my own before eventually sitting down. And I didn't sit down because I simply gave up. There was a woman trying to record what I assume was content for social media, and I didn't want my confusion in the background ruining her video. The whole experience left me feeling like I simply wasn't supposed to be there. Ironically, the one person who actually made me feel welcome was Sarah, who I'm not even sure works there. She approached me on her own, introduced herself, told me about the place, and helped me figure out where I needed to be. If it hadn't been for her kindness, I probably would have left without staying for the second class. Unfortunately, the same coach taught that class as well. Once again, there was no introduction or attempt to speak to me before, during, or after class. I don't expect special treatment because I'm new. I do expect basic customer service, especially after I've explicitly told the staff that it's my first time. A simple "Hey, I'm ___, have you done this before?" would have changed the entire experience. I came in interested enough to make a purchase with the intention of becoming a regular and signed up for two classes. I left feeling invisible. Based on that first experience, I don't expect I'll be returning.

It's affordable, engaging and interesting. Truly the best dance experience I've had in the San Antonio/New Braunfels area. The location is fantastic- The Grande is conveniently right off the highway, but quiet. Plenty of room for parking. Easy to find. It's clean, nicely arranged and comfortable. The interior of this historic building is stunning- bright crystal chandeliers, original hardwood flooring. Gas lights, a beautiful staircase, high ceilings- it feels grand and elegant, but still accessible. And speaking of being accessible- Rob and Diane create a fun, convivial atmosphere. Rob makes it a point to welcome and include everyone, and Diane is keenly aware of the learning level in the room, so picking up on their instruction is almost effortless. Huge age range and mix of people attending the classes, which are tailored for experience. Beginners' class is at 7:30; there's also an intermediate class held on the adjacent dance space for those with dreams of fancier footwork. It's so nice to leave an event feeling exhilarated, like you got a good workout, and that you learned something you can build on. Highly recommended- go try a lesson and see for yourself!

I never heard from anyone at the dance studio. I called again today to get information regarding a class and the woman "Amy", answering the phone was clueless about the classes or the dance schedule the studio offered. She said she would take down my name and number and someone would call me back. I said no thank you, as I am still waiting for someone to call me back from last year regarding the same class information. This is really sad, as I grew up in New Braunfels and I live just down the street in Gruene. I would like to support local businesses, but not this one. Very disappointing.
