Service was very friendly!! was looking for more Nov/ December clothes for our grandson

They RIPPED me off. I brought 9 boxes of boys cloths infant to 4 years old. They took a total of 35 items for $40. 15 items of Hannah Anderson and Mini Boden (MSRP of $40+ organic cotton items). When I asked why the payment was so low they said some of the items has some "light staining" and they needed to make margins too. They paid $40 for 35 items. Let's just say they paid me about $2.55 for just the Hannah Anderson and Mini Boden items. Easily $10 resale that's a nice margin (looked at prices when I was in store).... but what about the 20 other items? The clothing is really only for babies and toddlers. The selection of older boys clothing was sad to say the least. I guess I'll stick to the online consignment store I had been using THAT SOUNDS LIKE **REDUP... at least then I can get myself something with the store credit too. I stopped by Kid to Kid in Eagan after discovering them on Instagram and I was... pleasantly surprised! The good: Upon entering the store, there's an adorable bright pink door for children -- what a cute touch! The price on clothing was priced very fairly, for the most part. I'm very familiar with brands and how much they retail for. Considering this is a used clothing store, some items, in my opinion, were slightly overpriced. Note: They do have items that are brand new with tags but I'm referring to the used clothing. I totally understand they need to make a profit, so I decided to skip some of those overpriced items. I also like how the store is organized by size and gender! It was very helpful for me considering I only had about 30 minutes to shop before an appointment. The cashier who checked me out was very friendly. With it being my first time in, she was very kind when explaining to me how the Clean Out and Cash In program worked and how their return policy worked. The not-so-good: Upon walking into the store, I wasn't greeted but made eye contact with an employee. Not a huge deal, but a smile would have been nice. There's not a large selection of boy clothing. I wasn't overly surprised given every retail store (whether it's Target or H&M) has a larger girls section than boys, but I was hoping for a little bit more in the 18-24 month and 2T. I suppose it varies depending on what comes in and goes out for inventory. Overall, I'll definitely be back to explore their Clean Out and Cash In selling program and to look for more clothes for my son. read more

It was my first time experiencing a store as such seeing that I am going to be a " first time Mommy "! I went in with limited expectations because I didn't know what to expect but I knew some things would be used and some things would be new. I happen to Google search the store prior to going in search of some children stores. Stumbled on this place. Comparable to one other similar style business I visited the place was much more organized and labeled visibly and clearly. I now see what people meant by the shoe place was very well organized. Sizes are specified and there is a section for both girls and boys. I went on a day that they had a clearance sale 2/$1. I racked up on so many clearance items. I met the store manager or owner, sorry if I am specifying title incorrectly, her name was Amy and she was friendly and informative. She offered to grab me a shopping cart when asking her if they had them. Then I asked her a Mommy to Mommy to Be question and she was informative, considerate and polite. There was a blessing of another new for the first time customer that I met while shopping Ms. Bible Ruth. She made the experience so much more memorable and pleasant. She passed on some amazing Motherly Wisdom and some fantastic Motherly tips. It was an amazing, inspiring and unforgettable experience. At checkout the cashier was prompt. She was kind. Kid to Kid in Eagan is very clean and well organized for a kids store. They have a decent selection of gently used clothes, shoes, toys, strollers, high chairs... along with some new items for babies and kids like bibs, pacifiers, and other things you probably wouldn't want to buy used. It's genuinely impressive how organized everything is in the space but still easily navigable. Clothes and shoes are well-labeled, which is nice because occasionally you will find the wrong sizes intermixed (although in my experience, that's pretty rare). Most of the clothing falls somewhere between $4 and $8, although you have to watch because there are used clothes sometimes in the $10-$20 range and I probably don't know enough about brands to understand why. I especially appreciate how easy it is to find shoes in the size you want, as these are very well labeled. If you need girls' clothing, you are in luck because I would say about 80% of their clothes are for females. Not surprising, the boys' selection is much smaller, especially between 12 months and 24 months. You can also sell baby items if you are so inclined. Here's a bit of my gripe - the selling. They don't have anything on their website about what you need to do for selling, so if you've never sold here before, you would have no idea about the rules. It had to come in a box or a tote, the clothes must be flat, and you have to make sure you come at the right time because they will stop buying for the day. I brought clothes folded in a paper bag because I didn't know, and the person at the buy counter was pretty rude to me. They were also done buying for the day. Okay, I just took my stuff and put it back in the car and have never tried to have them buy again. I don't really need someone to be rude. Also, I have had cashiers on multiple occasions be rude or borderline rude. I don't fit the mold of the skinny, fit young mom and maybe that's it, but I don't really understand why this happens. Maybe I've just been unlucky to have a cashier who's had a bad/long day multiple times. I like the prices and how well the store is organized, which is what keeps me coming back. I wish they had clearer information on buying, like how to do and and times they are available to buy. I'd rather just try to deal with selling them myself than try that again. Overall, if you're looking for an organized store to buy gently used baby/kids clothes for a reasonable price, I recommend checking it out. read more

STAY AWAY! SELLING OR SHOPPING! I hate that I have to even post a one star, they do not deserve it. I've shopped here before thinking "this is really expensive for used kids clothes that they will outgrow so quickly, might as well buy new!" (So they must pay pretty well)...NOT. Today was our first time bringing stuff there to sell. By far the WORST experience I've ever encountered and one of the most rude and disrespectful sales person, Galima. We called a few times before bringing the 6 bins/boxes we had, specifically to make sure we were not wasting time bringing anything we wouldn't be able to sell. We get there tonight and Galima tells us $20 ..."whoa wait what, for all that stuff?!" She said "no, only for this"...which was maybe 2% of what we brought it in. To give you an idea of how much, we brought a variety of clothes coats books toys dishes shoes nursing items. My husband asked how was it decided and why so much was rejected, she grabs a slip and says, oh it's because of stains rips holes etc...O M G I'm sorry no what?! what a slap in the face first 20 and now your telling me our stuff is damaged. I will add photos later if I can but as I'm going thru items they rejected...here is a perfect example, an Adidas outfit, brand new with no tags my son didn't even wear it! I said can you explain this? because all of these clothes are free of everything you said. (plus we are a pet free smoke free home and I'm a super neat and clean freak, I would not have brought anything unacceptable and tried to sell it, those would go to the garbage or Salvation Army) Anyway her response to the Adidas outfit, oh because it's a size 2 I don't think we're taking any size 2's. OH MY what the **** almost 90% of what I brought was size 2's HOWEVER, why didn't the slip say that and WHY wasn't I told that over the phone the 3 times we called?!! I was upset yes, with good reason but was not being rude or loud, until Galima says to me, well with your attitude maybe you shouldn't be here or sell this stuff, our store isn't for you, you should just leave!!! And said that a couple times while I packed up to leave. As I'm packing up the stuff they were going to buy, I noticed that they separated outfits, who does that! And they expect you to neatly lay out all the clothes before bringing them in but then after they go thru it they can't do the same? Another thing that blows my mind, they rejected items I just bought from there that my son didn't fit so never even wore! *Very rude employees *Way over priced *Will NOT return and will be making sure all my friends, family and thousands of followers do NOT support this business! Which is unfortunate because that is the reason I shopped there and tried to sell there, to support small businesses! This is also very unfortunate for the owner to have these rude employees working there and probably don't even know it. Well, hopefully the owners don't know it because to allow people to work in customer service and treat customers this way does drive customers away and causes doors to close. read more

I love shopping here! They buy quality items and sell at reasonable prices. I always enjoy the hunt of looking through Kid to Kid. My kids love the little pink door and picking out books. I have never sold anything to Kid to Kid but every time I go in I am amazed at how much stuff their buyers go through! read more

I recommend this business over OUAC any day! They have more selection and pay better. My favorite part with this store is that you can choose in-store credit and receive an extra incentive (20% at the time that I sold) to do so. Brilliant! read more

Kid to Kid - Eagan is one of my favorite secondhand kids clothing and toy stores in the Twin Cities! Everything is so well organized that it makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. The prices are great (especially on many of the higher end brands they often have) and I can often score an extra deal with items that are on sale. I have also sold to them a few times and appreciate their process. After check in on the tablet you can watch the progress of your items as they review them and decide what they would like to buy. The offer is always fair and you can get a bit more when you select store credit which is great! The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the kid-sized front door is a favorite for my daughter every time we go. Went there for the first time. Was recommended to this place. Boy, was I disappointed. First, I called to see if they would take a baby swing and was told yes on the phone, but then when I got there, they said they were full! Well, bad experience has been starting already. I said okay then. Then, the employees were not super friendly and short and rude. So then you bring in all your stuff, and they are so picky about what they take. Then when you give them your items you have to wait in the store!!! Otherwise, they will not check your items right away. They then say cause a small spot they will not take at all due to this, but the same item with a stain that you can see from the register they did take. Also, I was told they don't take an item, but then took the same item from a different person. Very inconsistent. I was also told their prices are an incredible deal. Wrong! I looked they were more expensive than once upon a child. Do recommend them. Also, I'm assuming the owner will talk down to you and, in a very condescending tone, explain how things get done at this store. read more

I was initially excited about this place but on my first trip I bought a brand new melissa and Doug toy and a pair of shoes that came tied together. The new toy didn't work for more than 20 minutes and the shoes did not fit my kid, but when I took them back to return them a few days later with the receipt I was told that they didn't take returns at all on the toy and that the shoes couldn't be returned because I had separated them to let my 18 month old try them on. The employees working said that the owner Amy didn't give them the authority to override anything on her absurd return policies so their only option was to have her call me since I am not going to come back during the work week just for this. Overall just a really terrible experience, unless Amy somehow makes this right I wont be going back and would caution anyone from spending their time or money here.
