I tried to give two big donations of clothing, but when I wanted to keep my reusable bags, they wouldn't take the donations!

Used to be a great store. Lots of treasures. Now management hoards all the good stuff and sells in their online auction. Not cool!

This store has steadily gone downhill. Now it's just new junk, almost a dollar store. And not a place for a hunt at all.

What a fabulous little consignment thrift store! I'd spotted it a few months back, but finally made…read morea pilgrimage today while I was in the area. I was greeted on entry by one of the employees, who kindly explained that each little section was its own thing based on what people brought in (I've seen antique shops laid out this way, so I was familiar with this style of shopping). He let me know that anything I wanted to try on I could just grab and take to the back at my own leisure, or if I wanted him to hold onto anything in the front to free up my hands as I browsed, he could do that too. For those that make clothing decisions along gender expression lines, FYI this store leans femme, probably 80% or more; most of the shop isn't masc. I'll honestly wear whatever fits and imo looks good on me, so no worries here. I was lightly amused when the employee took one look at my dude self and assured me there was "some Harley Davidson stuff and Carhartt" in the back, LOL. So anyway, I ended up buying a bunch of different colored tie-dye crop tops. X'D (All for only three bucks a piece! Steal!) The shop is well-lit and has natural lighting as well, which makes the shopping experience feel relatively light and airy, especially for a thrift store. The aisles are a little tight, but that just means more great stuff to search through and find thrifted treasure! I was especially impressed by the roomy and almost elegant styled dressing rooms, which were far more pleasant than most dressing rooms I'm accustomed to-- you know the ones... cramped, under fluorescent lighting... ugh. So these dressing rooms were a real breath of fresh air! They even had a little area just beside them with comfy chairs and toys for your spouse or kiddo to wait while trying things on. There is also a gender neutral bathroom available towards the back. Even checkout was fun, as interacting with the employees was pleasant. The male employee was thoughtfully considering aloud that I, also a dude, was buying cute crop tops, and I ended up encouraging him to consider showing off a little belly in our upcoming warm weather, letting him know I'd been encouraging my own husband to show off his cute bod. I love when I can go someplace and help break down a few silly gender norms while supporting local biz-- doesn't get much better than that! I maybe wish I'd discovered this place sooner! (Though perhaps my wallet is glad I didn't, lol.) I'm sure to be back in the future. And maybe I'll even inquire when they'll have a consignment opening... I have some stuff I should probably rotate out of my closet, including some plushies that deserve a new loving home. And that's the magic of thrifting! I'll stop raving now. You should check this place out, pronto!

Habitat for Humanity ReStore - This is heavy solid metal. It would be awesome on a fence or house. I couldn't pass it up for 20$.

This place has so many things for such affordable prices. Some of the items are brand new and even with the tag still on and some are more antique used items. The stock of what is available there is so random and can very depending on what they receive but they generally offer a selection of couches, tables, chairs, rugs, bookshelf's, and appliances. However, the best deal there are the lightbulbs. 4 bulbs for 99 ¢. Unbeatable.

There's a good variety of used and new items, along with various categories of goods.... big and small. Pricing varies as well, but you can bet your paying less than retail price. Some of the basics: sofas, artwork, rugs, paint, bedframes, lightbulbs, patio furniture, Some of the interesting: church pew, chandeliers, fancy stoves, building material (flooring, fixtures, cabinets) Some of the little things: command strips, paper towel holder, bath mat, frames There's so much, and you never know what you'll find during your visit so check it out. I will say, staff didn't seem warm and friendly (ie a smile, or offer to help), but at the same no one was directly rude. I gather if you ask for help, they'd assist. I noticed by the bed frames, a sign that said they have tools to disassemble, but you had to do it yourself, which is still helpful since some places wouldn't even offer that.

I was just walking by to head somewhere else but was lured in by the display of boots visible from the window (and of course the "up to 90% off" sign). Upon entry I was given a friendly greeting by the employee behind the register, who let me know that there were some $1 bargains around the shop. I took some time to explore the aisles. It is entirely a clothes/accessories thrift shop, so tops, bottoms, coats, shoes, purses, hats, gloves, jewelry. Probably around 3/4s the inventory is "women's" and 1/4 "men's" (if you adhere to the gender binary; I personally shop both sides). I didn't see any kids clothes, so if you're searching for that I'd recommend going elsewhere. Good range of sizes on footwear! They even have a dressing room so you can try things on if you'd like to make sure it fits, and I noticed a couple spots with a small bench to make trying on shoes a little easier to accomplish too. These spots also had a full-length tri-panel mirror to give you multiple angles to view your potential new item. Like I said, this place felt reasonably upscale! Not at all like slumming it, even though there were indeed quite a few things marked down to $1 clearance. While I was there, a couple came in to hand off some of their hand-me-downs. Apparently this place will offer you cash in exchange for donations. So if you have something that's got little to no wear and need some change, this might be a good choice over just dropping off at Goodwill. Didn't purchase anything this time, but I'll likely pop back in another time when I finally need to replace my running shoes. Why buy new when I could get a nearly-new pair here for $15-30?

I'll definitely be back to shop. I looked at the shoes briefly and they had some great options! Bigger variety and space than the MG one. I ended up getting $50 for my clothes - I was shocked! I do wish they texted you when they were done going through your clothes like the MG Style Encore does. I'll be back to donate and shop again!

I try to go monthly, though I've been out of rhythm I'd say probably the last year, so it felt great to jump back in tonight. This session was extra special because my niece and nephew joined me for the evening shift. We packed meals for Peru, and it was so heartwarming to see how excited they were about the impact we were making and memories we created together. They were thrilled by the number of boxes our table packed and kept chatting about the jobs they were assigned (even in the car ride home)--like it was the highlight of their week! The energy at FMSC is always bright! It's upbeat, organized, and truly family-friendly. The staff does a great job keeping everything running smoothly while reminding us why this work matters, and showing appreciation and gratitude for our time and efforts. It's just two hours, but the sense of purpose and connection you leave with lasts much longer. Can't recommend this place enough--for families, groups, or anyone looking to make a real difference while having some fun. I look forward to resuming my monthly packing sessions.

Their online reservation system is so easy and convenient. Their preparation videos are informative and gives me so much inspiration. Even the way they sell merchandise in order to fund their operations is outstanding. No matter the volunteer role I take, I always walk away thinking that my help was really valued and meaningful. They always tell us how many children will benefit from the work completed in each shift. Great value for my time and SO POWERFUL! When you arrive to volunteer, they give you a hair bonnet and access to their lockers where you can store valuables. Personally, I prefer to leave my items at home or in my car, then I just keep my cell phone and keys in my pocket while I volunteer. The volunteer shift is only about 90 minutes and doesn't even feel like work. There are 3 types of volunteer roles: 1. Label Stickers. If you need to be sitting during your shift, this is the job for you! 2. Warehouse restockers. If you like to work out and use lots of muscles while volunteering, this role is for you! However, the warehouse are is not air conditioned so make sure you know that before taking a summer shift. 3. Meal Preppers. They need about 90% of the volunteers in these roles. They folks work in teams of 11 to prep ingredients into small plastic packages and then sealing several packages into large boxes. VITAMINS, VEGGIES, SOY, RICE! So grab some friends and volunteer together! I think you'll enjoy the experience.
