Takeout - butterfish

I ordered takeout from here while walking into the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast I got served. I had the butterfish shashimi and also some butter fish rolls. Everything was beyond delicious and the next time I come here all want to stop in and actually eat versus taking out

Kibo is located inside Liberty Village. The restaurant itself is somewhat hidden. They have a to-go section near the entrance. However, the to-go section is cash only. I walked in and ordered the Sushi B combo. It came with 7 sashimi sushi and a california roll with a side salad and miso soup. It came to $18.02 for the sushi B combo. Prices are average. The restaurant is somewhat hidden. It is located behind Chatime in the Liberty Village Market. The food was quite tasty and everything was pretty fresh. If you order take out, it does take about 15 mins for them to get the food ready. I do recommend ordering off of Ritual or online or even call in. Overall good sushi and I will definitely be back.

Giant rolls

I got the sushi boat for two and it was more than enough food. The rolls were really tasty, but the sashimi was just super thick cuts of fish, it was hard to eat and I had to cut it up myself. The service was just okay, nothing to write home about.

Chirashi Don (assorted sashimi)

Liberty Village has so many choices for grabbing a meal, a good meal. This time, we went to Kibo Sushi House and we certainly enjoyed their offerings! My friends had the Chirashi Don (assorted sashimi) and Teriyaki Bento Box with Salmon.I had the Teriyaki Bento Box with Bulgogi and it was a generous serving of deliciousness! Both bento boxes included a salad, rice, and noodles. All meals included a bowl of Miso Soup to start. That certainly opened up the appetite! Check them out!

Kibo signature roll and Omega 3 roll

We were in the area for food after being at the Enercare centre. It was the closest area within walking distance for food. We were able to explore a bit of Liberty Village. The atmosphere of this place was very nice. The staff here were also very kind and friendly. For dinner, we got: Kibo Signature Roll ($11.95) 6 pieces of California roll topped with torched salmon and scallop This was a better version of a regular California roll. If you were planning on getting a California roll, I would recommend upgrading to this fancy version of it. Omega 3 Roll ($11.95) Salmon avocado roll, topped with salmon and ikura This was my favourite roll that we tried. The fish and salmon were so soft and silky smooth that it just melted on my tongue. I would definitely recommend this roll. Salmon Tataki ($14.95) Seared with ponzu sauce The flavour of this was great, but I would have loved it if the pieces of salmon were a bit thicker. The plating is also different than the photo. They would not have been able to plate it like the photo because the salmon would be too thin to hold itself up. The salmon was plated on top of a salad. This plate was more reminiscent of a torched salmon salad. Ebi Shumai ($10.95) 8 pieces of steamed shrimp gyoza Came with broccoli Spicy Scallop Roll ($7.95) 6 pieces There is not much flavour in scallops, so this roll tasted mainly of spicy mayo, crispy bits and seaweed. I would opt for a different filling next time. Overall, the sushi was still above average and everything was delicious. However, I had just gotten take out from another Kibo location last week and in comparison, the sushi wasn't as good. As for the seating, the only thing I did not like about it was that the path to the bathroom would be in the way of staff working. Other than that, the booths were very cozy and it felt very nice to have more of a private dining experience than regular tables.

Beef udon take out

There's a reason they have so many locations! Great price and decent sushi. I have had their sushi many times and it's always good. It's good quality and the same at all their locations. I really enjoy their other items on the menu as well like beef udon. Very yummy broth and beef was very tasty. Not over cooked at all. Overall very delicious. Will be back

Food: 4 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambience: 5 Stars Fill Factor: Stuffed Me and a friend were looking for something to eat in the neighbourhood and decided to give this place a shot after passing by. I admittedly expected a mediocre experience but instead was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my visit here. I started off by ordering the chicken kara-age which was juicy and tender. I then ordered the Golden Dragon and Spicy Salmon Dragon. I was a little surprised when the food came as the portions were very large and the presentation was nice. I really enjoyed the food as the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. As I mentioned earlier the portions were big so I was stuffed after the meal. Service was excellent as the servers were all very friendly and attentive. We were checked on regularly and our cups were always filled with tea even during times when the place was busy. Wait times for the food was minimal and the restaurant felt very comfortable to be in. I look forward to my next visit here as they have a lot of items on their menu that I would like to try. Along with some great service and reasonable prices I may have found my new go-to for my sushi cravings.

Spicy tuna and Cali to go. Yum.

I have ordered from Kibo more times than I can count. This location in Liberty Village has some speedy chefs, and on UberEats they are always at my door near Dufferin and Queen within 30 minutes. I'm kind of a boring sushi orderer, but I really enjoy it every time, so here it is: +Miso soup +Simple salad, ginger dressing +Spicy salmon roll +California roll

Agedashi tofu

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The stars aligned and everything about this visit was amazing! My friends and I were celebrating on a Tuesday night. As we walked in, there was about 50% occupancy, so we were greeted and directed to our seats right away. Our server had a warm and ready smile as she took our drinks order. We started with some green tea, water and Kirin beer. We ordered: beef tataki (the outside charing added a smokiness to the beef and balanced with the tart sauce) and agedashi tofu to share (tofu size were large, presented beautifully and tasted delicious). I followed up with sushi combo B and changed the California roll to a spicy salmon roll (the fish were all fresh, rice was seasoned well). My friends ordered a sashimi & sushi combo and teriyaki & tempura bento (I was told theirs were also yummy). The staff remained attentive throughout our stay, refilling our glasses with water regularly, giving us friends time to catch up! Overall, this was an amazing find! Hoping to go by that area again soon.

Completely different variety depicted on the menu.

Disappointed with my latest order. Usually pretty dependable, but definitely did not get value. Could have gone to the supermarket for equivalent quality at half the price.

Rolls are sooooo gooooooood! Especially the rolls with crispy garlic chips were the bomb!

Highly recommend getting a party platter. Rolls are super good here! You can simply order online and pick up.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

What I really liked was that they had 3 options of warm water - Hot, Warm, and room temperature. Instinctively I knew this place cared about the clients digestive health. Though I'm sure if you asked for ice water, they would accommodate (my friend asked for no sauces in her maki roll). The fishes were plated very pretty and because it's sushi of course it tasted good. But I was surprised at the level of wasabi that was plated. Cleared up my sinuses for 30 seconds. The establishment is very clean and bright and a great place to head to if you're in a rush.

The space itself leans more modern and clean rather than the typical dark, cozy izakaya vibe, which I actually didn't mind. It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. Some of the fried dishes leaned a bit richer with the creamy sauces, but they were still enjoyable, especially if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent. The beef fried rice was straightforward but satisfying, one of those dishes that's easy to keep going back to between everything else. Drinks were a nice touch too.. refreshing, nicely presented, and added to the overall experience. Overall, this feels like a solid spot for a casual night out with friends. It's not overly traditional, but it's easygoing, shareable, and comfortable.. the kind of place you'd come back to when you just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

The menu is set up to where you pick the entree and then what type of protein you want out of pork loin, chicken, fish, cheese, and sweet potato cheese. I settled on the sweet chili katsu. A piece of chicken arrived on a plate accompanied with rice and shredded cabbage. The chicken was breaded in a light panko like crumb and was half covered in the sweet chili sauce. I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn. If you do try out this place, expect great katsuya.
