You hear of bad auto dealerships but this one beats them all. This dealership / service department are nothing but a group of thieves. They installed different parts than what I ordered. They installed parts that were damaged and they lied about it. I agree with the other commenters, take your auto to the cities or Rice Lake but do NOT buy a car or bring your car to this dealership! Why is it that they beleive profits are best gained by deceit rather than great service and a reputation that would be past on to others and generate more sales and service? Oh wait.....I get it.....they are idiots. read more

This dealership only exists to separate you from your cash, and waste your time. Absolutely the worst, incompetent dealership I've ever I've had the misfortune to deal with. Go to Rice Lake, WI or the cities of you need to see a Kia dealership. Been using this dealership for the many Kia recalls, but every time (5-6) they always waste your time and have been left with more repairs to fix what they do not care to fix. read more

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE Kia of Duluth put my family in danger--and refused to take responsibility. After a second oil change (see below), Kia of Duluth failed to properly secure the drain plug. Weeks later, while driving on a busy highway with my child, the plug fell out. White smoke poured from the car. We thought it was going to catch fire. We stood in the cold, far from the vehicle, while emergency services responded. Another Kia dealership confirmed the plug was missing and the engine had no oil. They stated it was highly likely a service error--not a maintenance or warranty issue. These plugs don't just fall off unless they're not torqued properly. Kia of Duluth caused over $10,000 in damages and showed zero accountability. No apology. No concern for our safety. Instead, they tried to blame me for not noticing oil leakage. I did not notice any leakage. After I said I'd file a complaint if needed, the store manager stopped responding. This was dangerous, expensive, and handled with complete disregard. Stay far away. ADDITIONAL CONTEXT LEADING TO ENGINE FAILURE Before the catastrophic breakdown, I had already experienced serious issues with Kia of Duluth's service. I was originally quoted over $800 for a repair, but after calling other Kia dealerships and Kia of Duluth's own parts department, I discovered the actual cost was significantly lower. I never confronted the advisor--just asked for the correct price to be honored. After that, communication stopped. I was never told when my car was ready, and when I picked it up, Dave would not look at me or speak to me. While driving home, I noticed the oil change sticker wasn't in the window and the oil looked dark. I called to verify the oil had been changed, but they couldn't confirm it. At that point, I asked to be refunded--I was tired of the poor service and wanted to get my oil changed elsewhere. They refused to refund me and insisted I return. I drove three hours round trip, and that's when they performed the oil change that ultimately led to the oil plug failure and engine destruction. read more

There needs to be something done with Kia of Duluth. Through a car-buying process a number of things have happened, with my partner (a single mother of 4). We were looking for a new car after being t-boned at an intersection. - They setup one deal for a Telluride. On arriving at the dealership, the car wasn't there. -After that, Kia of Duluth setup a deal for a Ford Explorer. On arrival at the dealership, the car wasn't there. -After this deal, the dealership ran my partner's credit 8 times, which tanked her credit. (should contact the BBB) -After that, Kia of Duluth setup a deal for a Toyota Sienna. When dealing with the Kia dealership, they said they would throw in some extras, including: 1-a detail job 2-new tires 3-weather mats On the finalization of the deal we got: 1-the shittiest detail job I've seen 2-new tires (the crappy ones) 3-no weather mats So, at the end of the day, we got the deal done, but each and EVERY time we went to the Kia dealership, we have actually been LIED TO as to what we were going to go to the dealership for. In addition to this, we were addressed in an incredibly rude way by John (one of their finance people), and by Craig, also, suuuuuuuper rude when it was brought to attention that we had been mislead (to the point that he was about to fight...WTF), and he was an incredible asshole about it. In the end, fu*k this place. NEVER EVER GO THERE. read more

Kia of Duluth is a fabulous dealership. They were friendly and informative...not one bit pushy. I appreciate good service and would recommend them to anyone. I made an appointment to have a specific part replaced. After waiting for two hours, they told me that the part had to be ordered. I had to drive 90 minutes one way for the appointment. Why would they let me schedule an appointment for a part they don't even have? I won't be going back. read more

THIS IS YOUR SIGN DONT BUY A CAR FROM KIA OF DULUTH. If I could leave no stars, I would. My elderly parents purchased a car from kia of duluth back in 2020. In February, they brought the car in for a repair, and since then, they have brought the car back with the same problem 3 times. Each time, they accured thousands of dollars in rental car fees. Kia of duluth doesn't understand basic customer service. They will leave you paying for 2 cars, ( the car you bought brand new that's a lemon and the rental car. read more

A disabled Vietnam veteran bought a car over the phone from them and had it delivered to his house 60 miles away almost 2 weeks ago. The sales person told him this 2018 Kia soul had only 26,000 miles on it and was in excellent shape! The car broke down one week later and his sister saw that it had 86,000 miles on it and undisclosed damage on the car! Since that conversation, the salesman and manager refuse to return his calls! Car dealerships are making tons of $$ on cars now, do they really need to take advantage of disabled VETS?? read more

I went in to Kia service center (on a Friday) to have a few recalls resolved for my vehicle. I brought my vehicle in and dropped it off. Later in the day, I was called to come back to pick it up and I noticed my weather tech floor mats were dirty/smeared but didn't think too much of it. (set up an appt for Tie Rods) I then went home and the next day went to get back into my vehicle, and slipped while getting into my vehicle, and realized that my floor mats were smeared in grease. Much worse than I originally thought. So much so that I was actually tracking it out of my vehicle on my shoes. It was both my driver side and passenger side mats. I then looked up--one of my recalls was headliner plates (no idea what that actually was) and realized I had black grease smears and fingerprints all over the ceiling of my cream colored car. It was very noticeable. I called the dealership and was informed to speak with the manager in the service center, named Andy. I called and left a voicemail and never received a call back (to this day yet). I then called the front desk of the service center and explained that I'd like them to correct the issue and clean the grease up. I went back in to the service center (the next Tuesday) and informed them I was there to have my ceiling and floor mats/back carpet shampooed and cleaned of grease. I was going to wait for my vehicle this time and so after 2/3 hours my car was finally done. They redid the recalls I just had done that Friday and cleaned my dashboard but didn't touch my ceiling or my floor mats/carpet at all! I called back since I needed to come in for my Tie Rods to be replaced to have them clean the ceiling and floor mats this time. I went in for my appt a few weeks later on a Wed and dropped my car off at 8:40 AM. Around Noon I text/called to inquire about my car and they informed me they were working on another RECALL!! For a third time, I was incredibly upset at this point and called them directly. They informed me that the last recall hadn't been complete and a part was put on order to fix, but they never informed me of this at the time. They then told me that it was going to take another 2 hours to complete to finish that and to clean what I originally needed done. So around 3 PM I get a text asking me if I wanted to have my car aligned. (front end work, Tie rods replaced) I said yes, I told them they needed to align my vehicle when I dropped it off just that morning. I get a message that my vehicle is finally done at this point, I go to pick it up and lo and behold. My driver's seat is a complete grease and water stain. They actually walked me out to my vehicle to inform me that this happened and they wanted to let me know it happened. That I needed to come in for a 4th appt to get my now dirty seats cleaned and shampooed on them. I at this point am speechless and was under the impression they would call me to set this appt up to fix their error. Wrong, two full business days later.. I haven't heard anything from them. To make matters worse, my hood was slammed down and shut on a piece from my battery and it dented the inside of my hood. To say my experience with Kia service center has been terrible is an understatement. No communication, they allowed grease to just sit on my cream interior for weeks and the ceiling is still dingy/dirty, and now my seats look terrible! I'm actually a little scared and concerned that my Tie rods may have issues and wish I would have never have gone back in at all. read more

I brought my Kia in for the hydraulic sensor recall repair 2-1/2 weeks ago because they got the part in to complete the repair, not because my car was showing any of the adverse effects of being affected by the defected part... at the time. My car was in perfect condition. No problems with my car, ever. This visit was a very quick and efficient. At the front service desks, there were at least 3 people. The lady who helped me was friendly knowledgeable and even called me a Lyft to get me home. I know realize after reading the other review, they also didn't ask me if I needed the Lyft again or help getting back to the dealership to pick i up my car? My car was completed in 3 hours. I had my own ride to bring me back to pick up my car. Because this was a recall repair there was no charge. I was told that I didn't have to wait longer than a 2- weeks for the appt because it was part of the recall. I thought they weren't booking it til Feb? Now my every time I drive my car I smell a severe burning smell like something metal is melting under the hood. Recall: This is the same notification in the recall that warned owners to keep vehicles parked outside and away from structures until remedy can be developed to address the fire hazard that's near a hydraulic engine control device. Quite comforting, right? When I finally got a call back from Kia about my car smoking, ( it took an entire 7 days for somebody to reach out to me after I filled out the service request online ) they said they cannot schedule my car for an appointment until February. What? For an incomplete recall repair? They said just bring it in if it starts smoking or burning smell again and we'll do a diagnostic. So, when I had brought my car back to the dealership after 2-1/2 weeks, they said they couldn't create a ticket ( meaning he could check me in if there wasn't an apparent reason for the service request) for it because it was not actively smoking or active burning smells at the time. Mind you... it was windy outside and the car had already been sitting for 15 minutes while I was standing in line inside- after there was nobody to help me and the two people that were there before me. It was 3pm. So, he said I had the option to leave my car for a "Diagnostic that they can run ( Yes please) but .... I will have to leave my car with them for about 14-days to allow a diagnostic to be done on my car". What? Will they supply me with a rental car? No. Will they reimburse for a rental car? They can't say. Wow. I could not afford that option. They did thank me for my patience. I have no choice but to drop off my car and borrow another in the hopes they get done sooner? Otherwise my Kia may catch fire at any given time. Again, comforting to have such a reliable vehicle. read more

Every horror story and review you read about this place is true. It's something you truly can't even believe until you experience yourself. I brought my car in for some routine recall work that should have taken a couple hours. They called me back a couple hours later saying the car no longer started after the work they did. They told me they didn't have a loaner and that my car would be done Monday if I could just wait until then. Good thing I insisted on a loaner because my car wasn't done for 10 days after that. When I finally got the car back, the heat no longer worked. I called them back telling them I needed to get it back in for them to repair it correctly and that I needed a loaner for the time being. After over a week of waiting they still claim they don't have one. I even got a hold of the service supervisor who said he would call me early in the week with an update. Never heard back from him. This place sucks. Please don't waste your time purchasing a car here. read more

I brought my kia optima in for 4 recalls an engine check only because we have a Hyundai and found out that the Hyundai/Kia engine was bad in the 2011 through 2018 vehicles so I call kia ask "Hey I've got a 2013 Kia is it under warranty?" "yep it is!" thanks for telling me then they've tell me that "you've got 4 recalls and if i don't get in here soon one of those recalls is going to negate my warranty on the engine" OK so I bring it in they fix the 4 recalls I come home in my rear camera doesn't work now I call back to get them to fix it and they say "nope, that wasn't us, it's just an old car which Hey it worked just fine until I brought it to them they refused to help me even though they didn't tell me at all that my engine was bad, they didnt tell me about the 4 recalls and now my camera gets broke there and they won't fix it. In Dec 2019, I put down $500 on a 2020 Telluride that was supposed to come into the dealership in mid to late January. Salesman was Gordy. After reading all the reported complaints on the vehicle, I decided I wanted to wait so, I called Gordy and told him I wanted to cancel. Of course, he stated that he hasn't heard of any complaints and didn't seem too happy that I was cancelling. I asked that he start the process to refund my deposit. He never did! On Jan 3, 2020, I contacted the accounting department and talked with Angela who was very nice! She stated that no one ever notified her. I told her that someone needed to have a talk with Gordy and that I would be making note of this in my survey. This is not very professional and only succeeds in giving Kia of Duluth a bad reputation. One thing you DON'T do is play with peoples money! read more

A first rate miserable experience. I bought a 2009 Toyota Matrix online from Kia of Duluth and had it delivered to my house, a 250 mile trip. When the car arrived I noticed several problems with it. The car was dirty and had dog hair in it. The glove compartment had the left overs from a bag of popcorn. In the back storage compartment there was a mouse nest with a pair of chewed up gloves and about a quarter pound of mouse droppings and sunflower seed shells. Three of the tires were underinflated by 10-15 pounds. I checked the oil and it was over filled by over a quart. The car had 2 sets of keys and they sent one. I had a plate to transfer and they applied for a new one. The car stank of cigarette smoke. I tried for a week to get a remedy for the problems and they offered me a partial payment for a car detail. I would not recommend this car dealership. read more

Took my Buick in to the service center last week for a 100k mile inspection (flush some fluids, change some filters, and INSPECT the condition). The next day, after about 20 miles or so, my entire exhaust system fell off the bottom of the car. I expected that they would apologize and fix it. Instead they shirked any responsibility and insisted that they were not at fault. I asked them what the point of an inspection is if they don't see that my muffler is hanging by a thread. They replied, "well it's rusty under there." I was told that they were going to bring it over to a local muffler and brake place and that they would call me soon. Three hours later (after spending a half hour on hold with Kia) I called the muffler place. No one from Kia had called; they did not have my vehicle. I went down to Kia myself, loaded my exhaust system into the car (the tailpipe sticking out the passenger window), and dropped it off where they had been too busy to take it themselves. Awful service. read more

I am recent college grad and applied here for financing on a kia optima. As soon as they got my information they applied to about 15 banks (and other credit agencies) in order to get me approved. As a result i have 15 hard inquires on my credit report which brought my credit score down by about 200 points. When i asked them why did they apply to 15 banks simultaneously they said since i was a recent college grad i had a limited credit history and i had very little chance of getting a loan. In the end they said they couldn't get me approved anyway, the sales staff are amateurs.. they don't know anything and the finance department is even worse. They treated me as like they were doing me a favor by getting me a car!!
