Dr. Khalid Baig is widely regarded as a leading medical professional in the Bay Area, and in my experience, he may very well be unparalleled. My assessment is based on the direct experiences of my family, relatives, and several close friends whom he graciously accommodated. He has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to resolve complex medical situations, significantly improving the well-being of elderly family members. For over three decades, he has provided our family with unparalleled quality in comprehensive care, accurate diagnoses, and effective treatment strategies. He embodies all the essential qualities one should seek in a medical practitioner. The extended wait times, which have regrettably been cited in some negative feedback, actually reflect his meticulous approach to patient care. He dedicates ample time to each individual, ensuring no critical detail is overlooked--a level of attention often absent in more hurried appointments. The value derived from this thoroughness far outweighs any inconvenience; I recommend patients come prepared with reading material. read more

Dr. Khalid Ahmed Baig has been the Physician of our whole family of 4 generations for 3 decades. He not only Board Certified in Family Practice but also as a Pathologist which has allowed him to diagnose many difficult cases that most physicians cannot. He is very thorough. Most of his patients are chronically sick with multiple diagnoses so he has to spend more time on each patient. His staff is very professional and kind, treating patients, talking to them nicely. He is actually the No.1 Physician in Fremont and all of Alameda County. His office is very clean and elegent, always busy and sometimes the wait is long though the wait is well worth it. He recently dignosed my 'Asthma" to be from acid reflux and oesophagitis and gave a medication that restored my breathing to normal right away I recommend him highly. read more

Dr Biag is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable, and compassionate doctors in Fremont. They just don't make them like him anymore. He has been my doctor and has also treated my parents when they visited from India for a very reasonable price. He was able to instantly spot what was wrong from the xrays they brought with them and was missed by their doctors in India. He is trained in pathology and does a very deep examination of the patient and focuses on prevention, aka knowing what could go wrong in advance. Highly recommend him and Parveen, who also handles the front office. read more

I was one of two patients who had ab 8:30am appointment. This is a follow up appointment and I made sure that I had the very first appointment. If you're not first, please forget any other errands or appointments you may have. You won't make them. Dr. Baig doesn't even arrive until 9am. Not sure why the first appointment is at 8:30, when they know he won't be there. My first visit was a year ago. I made the first afternoon appointment (on the advice of my mother who has been going to Dr. Baig for over a decade). Even though I was a few minutes early, I didn't rush up to the counter to sign in first. Two or three people ended up ahead of me. Why is this if there are scheduled appointments? That day I probably waited about three hours total. Why do I come back? This is how I justify the horrible wait time. I only come once a year, then two weeks later for follow up lab results. He is an excellent physician who has a background in pathology. If something's out of the ordinary, he's likely to figure out what it is. Also, the company I work for won't let you take anything less than four hours for sick leave, so that works perfectly. Please note, this isn't the place that you'll ever get in an out in less than two hours. But when you're finished, you will feel like your doctor listened to your problem, took the time to understand your problem, referred you to the correct outlets to confirm your problem and then provide solutions to combat your problem. Obviously I can't give him a five star because his appointment booking seems like something that needs to be reported and the wait times are criminal :). But if not for those two things, he'd be a five-star doctor. read more

WORTH THE WAIT. Dr. Baig has been my primary MD since 1999... Yes the wait is long... On average the MD will see you within 2hrs from the time you sign in so schedule half your day in his office. Longest I've been here was about 4 hrs. I haven't seen Dr. for a number of years... which is my fault. I was in denial and and felt invincible. Earlier this year I taken to the hospital for a number of issues. Hospital had contacted Dr. Baig as he was my last primary... I was so excited to see him at the ER the same day... Mind you this was late at night. He went over my labs... Ordered a BUNCH of tests, made me aware that I will be staying over night. He saw me EVERYNIGHT for 18 days at the hospital. His hours of visit at the hospital range between 9-11pm. He's on point and he genuinely cares about his patients. He is an EXCEPTIONAL doctor which I believe he doesn't get much credit for because alot of people are unhappy with the wait. I would prefer a traditional local doctor who truly KNOWS his patients and their health. read more

This has been my doctor for 3 years. Liked him well. The day of my appointment i was not able to come inside. I called spoke with *Ayala* or something similar. I was trying to ask a couple questions and AYALA started this argument of some kind. I was a bit lost. After asking her why is she so mad and so angry at me, AYALA said its her tone. I asked her to please stop. So again i proceeded to ask the questions. She was quick with her argumenttive aswerers. As if i was not allowed to ask. I asked her once more. Could she stop treating me in such a condescending & confrontational mannor? She just continued. I have worked the medical for 30 years. Ive never seen such behavior from any office in florida. This shook me up so much. Why should i have to take this? I called to get the managera number or speak with her. Maybe an email? No. I couldnt get padt AYALA once AGAIN. Refering to googles reviews i should have suspected a chamge in there office. Well. I found a great doctor with an ultra sound machine in her office. The scheduleing was a breeze. Finally a warm kind person. Dont bother putting yourself through this. I know the 2 ladys whom use to work here. One Blonde. And one Dark. Both beautiful. This is NOT the same office. Doctor is liked very well. But what good is it if the practice doesn't work as a team? This is to aggravating to go through each time. What a way to start your day huh? Shaking. Upset. Thrown off by this behavior like side blinded. Message me for this wonderful new DOCTOR ive found. Easy breezy with equipment in office. Im excieted. No more stressful bulls.... Run from this office. The front office will run you in the ground way before you see the doctor. I guess i wont get my final test results about my thyroid noduals as there are 3. Office manager cannot be reached. What a nightmare read more

21 minutes ago The procedures at Dr. Baig's office to accept a new patient seem nothing less than scandolous. They refuse to accept any information prior to the visit via email. When you go in, they let you know that they don't accept your insurance type. There's zero apologies instead you get a get out of here if you don't want to pay up attitude. I wouldn't recommend anyone going through this ordeal. I'd give zero stars for the front desk if possible. Please consider treating new patients with dignity and respect their time. read more

Dr Baig has been my parents' (Mr and Mrs Gabel) physician for more than a decade. Finding a real, compassionate and dedicated doctor can be a real challenge but Dr. Baig's relationship with his patients embodies these qualities and more. He really cares for his patients 24/7 that is why the long wait exist. He came to visit my Mom when she was in the hospital every night and on weekends. Why do we wait for long line in a crowded restaurant, an hour or so just to get a table? because the food is good. Why do we stand in line in a Theater if there is a good movie? Because the critics gave it a positive review. Same thing applies here, why is there a long wait? Because Dr Baig wants to give the utmost care and attention to your medical dilemma. He listens to your situation, he diagnose the problem, he refers you out such as X-rays,lab works, therapy and more if needed to be determine the cause of the problem and to alleviate the pain you are experiencing. His foremost concern is always his Patient's Welfare. These patients who waited long hours trust him and refuse to see other doctors. Of course, there will always be bashers and haters, if you can't do the time in waiting, then go to another in and out clinic that suit your schedule. Isn't it obvious a lot of his patients wait and stay long because they like the way Dr Baig treats them. Thank you for all that you do Dr Baig, Mrs. Baig and Dolores! read more

My first review was after my visit visit in Oct. Our relationship broke apart in the December that followed. After the first few visits to Mr. Jolly Good Doc, you come to realize that he is hardly competent at all. TL;DR I've filed a complaint to my Insurance and his network. I don't hope any action will be taken, but here's hoping. So after 5-6 visits to Mr. Doc for our daughter's vaccination card, he never once mentioned he is not a pediatrician. He wasted 3 months in producing a vaccination card (spoiler: he never did - we had to change the doctor). His staff is not only incompetent (spoiler: they have a hard time keeping basic patient information in place), they are rude (they'll bite back if you complain about why they are asking you for the umpteenth time about your phone number). They have no files on their patients (at least none they can retrieve - and Mr. Doc is my primary care physician and we've seen him quiet a few times). The Doc's competence is so low, that after 4 hours in his office on the grand finale of our relationship - he told me that he is not a pediatrician and can't do anything about my daughter's vaccination card ON THE DAY when her school was going to throw her out (and new school's registration date was close) for not having a physician report. He offered me to drive my wife and daughter to the 'other doctor' who might help. No thanks! (Yes, you can say it was my fault - but I'll save my fingers from typing about 5 consecutive visits to Mr. Jolly Doc's office and being told off by his staff). The worst doctor ever and anyone who has left a good review (like me previously) were only charmed by his jolly good words in first impression. He is absent minded and rarely cares about the patient. BTW, he took some rough notes about my daughter and handed me a piece of paper. WHen I went home and turned the paper around, it was a physician's progress notes about another patient - 64 years of age, who had broken ribs and some vital signs on him (with name, age, etc.) recently checked. If this is not grounds to declare him incompetent, I don't know what is. Be good to yourself. Choose another doctor. Even if you DO visit him, make sure to tell him to cut the jolly talk and get to the point. read more

Dr. Baig was my husband's primary doctor for 10+ years. When I moved to the bay area, I too decided to make him my primary doctor. Dr. Baig is truly one of a kind. He cares deeply for the well being of his patients and is highly regarded at Washington Hospital among his peers. His bedside manner is the best, however his attention to detail is bad. It makes you want to make allowances for him which one shouldn't. Last summer, my husband took ill and cancer was suspected by an emergency room doctor. We were advised to see Dr. Baig for further treatment. This was the turning point in our relationship with Dr. Baig. After some more tests were conducted, Dr. Baig informed us that my husband DIDN'T have cancer. We were utterly relieve, as you can imagine. To make a long story short, Dr. Baig was wrong. Without being absolutely positive and having all the tests conducted before telling us so, he lost our trust and faith in him. To make matters worse, his staff dragged their feet the entire way getting authorization from our insurance for a CT scan that we may never have caught until it was too late. This wasn't the first time, either, that his staff greatly disappointed us with their lack of professionalism and promptness. Dr. Baig is no longer our doctor and I have to say, I am relieved. The LONG wait (sometimes hours) to see him was highly inconvenient and his unfriendly and disorganized staff just about always made for an unpleasant visit. It's really too bad because of our long history with him and the fact that his bedside manner is wonderful. It's simply not enough when so many more important aspects in having a good doctor are not in place. read more

WORST DOCTOR EVER! If you have 3 hours to spare, then go on ahead. First of all, the front desk is very rude and not friendly at all. After signing in, I waited 2 WHOLE HOURS to get called in by the nurse/assistant. After being placed in a patient room, I waited for ANOTHER HOUR until the doctor came in. Dr. Baig is a good doctor but I will never go back to him ever again because of the ridiculous wait. They shouldn't schedule so many people at once and get greedy. Horrible wait and horrible front desk. read more

Yes, the wait can be ridiculous, and the staff can be rude, but the knowledge and patient care you get from visiting Dr. Baig overcompensate for these minor downsides. My entire family sees him, and each time we've felt like he's spent a lot of time on us. He doesn't rush appointments like many doctors. My grandmother had kidney failure and Dr. Baig was the only one who was willing to treat her, back in the day when few doctors were willing to treat patients insured under Medicaid. My dad also had a back problem where his spinal fluid was hitting one of his nerves (a very serious issue), and Dr. Baig swiftly recommended surgery and served as an assistant during the surgery. I believe that the most telling aspect of the quality of Dr. Baig's patient care is the fact that he always provides a through diagnosis of your medical problems. (If you're a bit of a hypochondriac like me, you'll especially appreciate this.) On several occasions, I made an appointment for concerns I had about a particular medical issue, and I walked out with a clear plan for addressing the issue, and for addressing any other "red flags" he may have spotted while looking through my test results. He's a great pathologist -- his job is to watch out for signs/indicators of potentially harmful diseases, and he never fails to do this satisfactorily. Dr. Baig is also a people person, which is great for patients like us who want a doctor that will not only (1) sense when we're uncomfortable or worried, but also (2) care enough to spend the time to ease our worries. He will spend an hour or more with you, just to ensure that you leave his office feeling better about your health situation. Dr. Baig is very hard-working, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his patients...he will do everything he can to treat you. Think about the bigger picture: if you value your health, the long wait and the rude front desk service will be well worth your time. (Also, disappointment stems from expectations, right? So if you just expect to be there for ~2 hours and bring a book or something to work on, you'll be fine. Trust me, in the end, you'll thank yourself (and him) for going.) read more

The wait is super long you spend half a day in the clinic. He sees patients not based on the time of arrival or time of apt. He sees patients who came after you. Apt at 9:00 am and you will be seen at 11:30am. Front desk managed by his wife is super rude. She will even hang up the phone on your face for calling to ask for medication refills--very unprofessional and disappointing. Though Dr Baig is very nice and very personable but the rude front desk and poor service just offsets it all. A good doctor will not do you any good if you cant get your medications on time and end up in the ER at the time of a pandemic!!! I feel sorry for giving this bad review but people deciding for their health care deserves to know. Getting your medications on time without any fuss and stress is an important aspect of the doctor's service. A rude front desk is very disappointing and makes us all feel disrespected. read more

It's been over 10 yrs since we've been to Dr Baig but from the reviews I see nothing has changed in his office. The reason we no longer go to Baig is because of his office policies. There is a MINIMUM wait of 90 min regardless of what day or time u go! I realized on one of our visits - first appt in the morning, that all the exam rooms were already filled, there were additional patients in the waiting room, and the Dr was not even EXPECTED to be in the office yet!!! I know this from overhearing a conversation between the receptionist & someone on the phone. That's why every time there's a 90 - 120 min wait just to get into an exam room!! That's completely unacceptable and says to me that the Dr does not value your time!! I liked the Dr, but I couldn't be a patient there because my blood pressure would be off the charts after waiting so long every time!!! I know Drs have emergencies & unexpected things happen, but I KNOW that is not the case here. The long wait is completely planned and due to their scheduling! There are other competent physicians around that value other people and not just themselves!! Look elsewhere!! read more

Dr Baig has been my parents doctor for a few years. My father is a retired doctor and my mom is a retired nurse so you know they are going to be picky about who they choose. Yes, the wait time is long, but his service and knowledge is top notch. I probably shouldn't tell you about him because he's already stretched thin, but Dr. Baig is a truly exceptional physician. Needed time is always taken to accomplish your healthcare goals. Usually that means a long wait. That's the price for a quality physician in this area and I'm willing to pay. Therefore, be advised right now it's going to take your afternoon to see him. Are you worth it? Just don't complain because you get the exact same time you need too. Isn't that better than being rushed through a 5-10 min appt? You don't leave wanting or needing anything! HE TAKES CARE OF YOU. Look... he's a good, kind, and caring man who loves his calling and is an incredibly qualified physician. Simply the BEST. That's why he's so busy. The office staff provide outstanding support in their daily efforts to keep it all moving smoothly too. Thanks everyone, you're wonderful. read more

Dr. Baig has been my doctor since I came back from college...4 to 5 years now?! He's been my wife's doctor and family doctor as long as she can remembers. I grew up using Kaiser and never had any issues with wait time, but I did meet with multiple doctors so it was never really personal. Dr. Baig is very knowledgeable and is highly respected and well known through Washington Hospital. My mother in law has had a lot of issues with her health, and Dr. Baig is always there to either admit her to the hospital or get her tests/labs ready. Sure his wait times are LONG, but just be sure to book your appointment either first in the morning or last in the evening for minimal wait time. If you book at any other time, then bring a book, a portable dvd player, ipod, etc. When you do see Dr. Baig, he sits there and explains everything to you, even some things you don't even want to know about...he just throws it out there so you know "it" can be a possibility. Yes he does order a lot of tests, but its only to be on the safe side and to figure out exactly whats causing the problems. I know he has A LOT of patients, but for how often I see him (maybe 2-5 times a year), he always says hello and gives me a hug whenever we bump into each other. He's very hard working and loves what he does... As for the front desk staff, I've dealt with 3 people...Maria, his wife, and some other lady. I can't say that they're all friendly, but I have a good relationship with Maria and she takes care of me. If you ever sit there and watch her work, talk about multi tasking.... phone does not stop ringing and at the same time, Dr. Baig is asking her to fax this and that, or do this and that....I would want to shoot myself if I were her. read more

The wait time at the doctor even with appointments is the reason to a move, a 3 hour wait did it for me. He is good, in fact an excellent doctor. As far as the front office staff except for his wife, they are rude and incompetent and make you feel unwanted, and then the wait time is simply too much. read more

I really Yelp puts a '0' star for places like this. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if the doctor doesn't even show up for 45 mins(it could've have been more, I walked out). When I asked for a refund and wanted to leave the place, no one really seems to care, it's like, it's quite normal to them, like they see someone like me once a day. Doctor may be good, but you can't be expecting people to stay for hours waiting and wasting their time, especially when we made an appointment. read more

This isn't a review of the Doctor himself as much as it is for the practice as a whole, (can't review the Dr. because he's not my physician but I've come here several times with my dad and grandfather), but the wait times are RIDICULOUSLY LONG. I'm all for thorough examinations but please do not waste the patient's time by over booking people when you know how unusually long the appointments turn out to be. read more

Dr Baig is my doctor too! I think he is a brilliant diagnostician and always makes time to see me when I really need to get in. Like The other reviewer, I agree that the wait times in the waiting room are sometimes too long. I do think he's worth the wait. I know he holds an important position with the hospital medical staff and that he spends a lot of time with his patients. Excellent doctor. Worth the long wait times. You can rely on doctor Baig's diagnosis.

Do NOT waste your time with Dr. Baig. He is careless, has no value for the time of his patients - he schedules his patients, and then has them wait for hours, yes hours. When you go out to seek him, you often find him on his cell phone or chit chatting with his staff. He has some favorite patients who he will see right away and spend over an hour with them, but the rest can go to h***. If you want to be treated for your illness or medical concerns, and treated with respect, then I suggest you look for another physician, there are abundant of them in the area. read more

Dr Baig has been my doctor for years now, probably 10 and I just love him. He is very intuitive and no matter how pressed for time he is, I to this day have not seen him take any shortcuts during my check up time. The quality of care is really very remarkable. I have the utmost trust in him and his care. Even though I have yet to be seen at my appointment time:), I have still not given up and go there armed with my laptop and bb to work while i wait. I've moved to pleasanton now so it might be time to change but I so don't want to. Had to change doctors after about 4 years. Could not get an appointment for months. After about the third time I said " forget rescheduling , I am going to find another doctor!" And I did. I don't really care to leave stars, I just want to share feedback. I wish I had read the yelp reviews before my visit because I would have realized this wasn't the right doctor for me. I arrived 15 minutes early since I was a new patient and wanted to have the paperwork filled out in time for my appointment. I didn't get much of a greeting and the sign in process was kind of awkward since I had to interrupt and ask where to sign in and then again to request the paperwork I assumed I would need to fill out, and did need it after all. I waited about 45 minutes before being brought in to a room where I sat with the door open and could hear conversations in all the other open rooms. The doctor (I'm assuming Dr Baig) walked by multiple times, looking in but never saying hello and no one gave me any information on the wait or what to expect or anything. I could tell from the conversations I overheard that the doctor was busy and hustling around, but seemed very kind, informative and friendly with his patients. That being said, I wish I had the chance to meet him. After having arrived at 9:45AM, going to the room at about 10:45AM, I left at 11:40AM. I had arrived nearly two hours earlier for my 10AM appointment. I left my room, let the nursing assistant (?) know I was leaving and she told me I was next. That being said, I was just so disappointed that my time was not respected and no one welcomed me or apologized for the wait or even said more than the bare minimum when I was trying to be friendly and polite. I even shielded my irritation very well and didn't want to take it out on anyone, especially if they were not to blame (because I have no idea how this is considered a normal process). I assume the doctor could be a very wonderful physician, but I've never had an experience like this. Unfortunately now that I see the reviews, it seems that this is business as usual, which really is a shame. I wasted two hours of time and just decided that even if it was only another 5 minutes, that this just wasn't the practice where I wanted to develop a relationship with a PCP. It's also alarming that the reviews for many years have mirrored the complaints I have and clearly nothing as has been done to change it. Also, I waited 3 weeks for this appointment, which is no problem for me, since I figured I would be better off than my last assigned physician whose office couldn't return my calls to schedule an appointment at all after multiple attempts over several months. I'm just a healthy young professional that was looking for a check up and help and guidance to quit smoking so I can hopefully continue to be healthy in the future. I do hope that Dr Baig takes this kind of feedback in to consideration and help to improve his practice, since what I overheard gave the impression that he really is a caring and friendly man, which is something I would have valued in a patient-doctor relationship. I just have such a busy life (like many other people, I work 50-60 hours a week and have to arrange my own client's appointments around things like doctor's visits) that I cannot expect to wait hours beyond my scheduled appointment time. Walking out is extremely out of character for me since I pride myself in not acting self-important and entitled, but I genuinely feel as though this was inexcusable and the fact that it is a trend reassures me that it was the right choice. read more

Dr. Baig is a very kind and knowledgeable doctor. He is great. His staff however is another story. They are NEVER helpful. Always very very rude. They don't even greet you or even answer you when you say hello. It is never a pleasant experience. If doctor Baig wasn't such a good doctor I would never come here. Oh and you can expect to wait for at least 45 minutes-1.5 hours. Sometimes its really not worth it. read more

This has been my doctor for longer than I can remember. He has known my family for at least 15 years and that is something you can't really let go of. The only thing is: Dr. Baig is so popular and there is a tendency for the office to overbook and result in TWO HOUR delays. But hey, if you have stuff to do, bring it. I read an entire packet of articles I printed out and prepped for an interview (which I landed!), all while listening to the randomness of my iPod on a cool Saturday morning. Dr. Baig is so hard-working, long days sometimes 6 days a week. I would totally recommend him if you don't mind the potentially boring waiting room with an American Flag gripping one of the walls. I am having a little follow-up issue though. The receptionist, Maria, is wayyy busy and hasn't had the time to get back to me regarding some important issues I need to get taken care of before my trip to Ireland. I hope my patience pays off and I can increase the stars on this review!! -Matt read more

Yes, there is a long wait. However, I have been going to Dr Baig for about 23 years, and I say it's worth it. Recently I have had to switch over insurances and am not able to see Dr. Baig and I must say the amount of time I waste driving back and forth and trying to find a Doctor who knows what they are doing is ridiculous. It is very difficult to find a Doctor who cares and doesn't treat you like just another 'customer'. When you visit a doctor you want to know that your doctor is listening to you and even though your concern may not be as great as the next persons, your doctor still gives you the best treatment possible. If I have a small problem, I want the doctor to take that problem seriously the first time, address it and provide treatment so the doctor and I can move on with our lives. I've noticed the need to have to exaggerate my symptoms and pain to get any attention from other doctors, and I honestly don't go there to make a small problem bigger than it is. But when no one cares you have to. So for all of you who are complaining about the wait, maybe you guys would be better off at other places where you can go exaggerate your illness. No, Doctor Baig is not perfect, he has been in this practice for many many years and sometimes maybe he will forget to put in a blood test, but he is human. You can talk to him and they will take care of it for you.
