Although, there are many places that serve a much better quality of chicken and sides. KFC is the go to if you want to stay within a family budget and still get a decent meal. With inflation bringing the cost of food to an all time high. I wanted something quick and affordable to eat. Like most folks, I don't want to spend an armor and a leg, just to get a decent meal every night. Thats when KFC came to mind. They offer their traditional menu meals. So I got the classic chicken Combo: a 6 piece meal with three traditional sides. With this particular Location, I did an online Uber order and pick-up. It was raining pretty heavily and I did not want to wait there longer than I needed to. Although the sides were much smaller than I expected. It did the job and I had plenty of leftovers. I ordered the: mac & cheese, corn, and mashed potatoes with gravy. The sides look like they came from the kids menu. The chicken was pretty darn salty, but it was moist and the crispy chicken was definitely crispy. The service was friendly and the young lady at the counter, greeted me with a smile and friendly attitude. The ambience was busy, but this location was clean and organized. No one goes to KFC to get the best meal of the night or of the week. But you go for convenience and affordability and that's definitely what I got. I have no problem going back on a day where I don't want to cook and I don't want to spend a lot of money. My personal recommendation is to always do an online order. That way it's quick and convenient for all parties. read more

If you are using the drive through, better check your food. They will charge you for the food but will not give you what you ordered. This has happened here more than once. Wow. Online ordering. How can you not be able to order mashed potatoes at a KFC? Everyone else was satisfied with their greasy fried chicken - consistent, they knew what they were getting - but how they not have mashed potatoes? Had to settle for Cole slaw. Other locations have them available, but miles further away. The chicken nugget on a biscuit used to be so good. I used to be a super devout hot wing lover that I eat KFC 20 piece hot wings all by myself at least once a week but ever since KFC in their infinite wisdom decided to remove Hot Wings and replace with the subpar new wings in flavor I've not gone back for years. Finally while hungry I decided to try the wings in Nashville Hot flavor one more time and I just had to kick myself for even bothering to try again. It's the same hard breading. I don't know who made the batch of chicken tenders that I ordered, but they were phenomenal, perfectly seasoned with a mouthfull of flavor each bite! The service was quick even during a rush and everyone who helped me out was super nice and polite going above and beyond with their services. The resturant itself has many oppurtunities for seating to occupy while eating or waiting for your order. I should have read the reviews before coming here. Pull up to the window and they tell me that there is no dark meat available. Wait is 15 mins. Sure, I pull to the side and patiently wait for my food. 20 mins passed by with no update. I walk up the window to see four employees standing around chatting. I ask for an update, and to my surprise was told that it was going to be another 9 mins. I asked him why this was the case and he informed me that it is taking longer to cook than expected, and that it was rush hour. If that was really the case, shouldn't you have prepared for this exact situation ahead of time? After waiting a total of 35 (!) mins, I was finally called over to retrieve my order. To my dismay, not only was the chicken poorly breaded, but looked very undercooked. I was absolutely livid. I returned the chicken and requested for a refund for my order, only to be met with an attitude and disapproving looks by the employees. How about have some pride in what you do, and deliver better service and product? Employees definitely need to be re-trained. No surprises though since the bulk of them look like high school kids. This dump has the worst customer service ever. Buyer beware! If you use a credit card, make sure you get it back! I went to the drive-through window, made my purchase, and the girl neglected to give me back my card and of course I forgot it. If she would've given it to me before she handed me the food that would've been fine. Anyway, I called them and ask them if they had my card and they did. I went back the next day to pick it up and it went actually into the store. They had a stack of cards that people had left behind. I made a comment to her that they should be more careful to give them back to the people before they give them their food. And she said that's not my fault, you forgot your card that's on you. I don't think this is so much about a blame game, but if you see that you have a stack of like 5 to 7 cards left behind and I'm sure this isn't the first time, it might be a good idea to take a look at rethinking how you do your customer service. Not to mention that the employee wasn't willing to own any of it. Sure, I should've realized I didn't get my card back. But by the same token, if you're handing me food and you've got a stack of cards there from people who left them behind right next to the register, that's where all of them were kept... Not in a safe, not in an office, put in a place where any employee could just go snag one and use it, anyway, if you're seeing that at your register, doesn't it make sense to think about? YELP really needs "zero star" rating category. This KFC in Redwood City really, really s***ks! 1. We Door-dashed an order about a month ago. We had ordered Coke with the order, but instead got some other drink; it might have been Dr. Pepper (not sure though). 2. A couple weeks, we Door-dashed another order (because we don't learn from our mistakes). We ordered chicken breast and wings. This time we got hamburgers and some other stuff; clearly they gave us someone else's order. We thought Door-dash messed up, but the order ticket that was taped to the order had our name and our chicken meal order. Some careless loser a-hole at KFC stuck our ticket to the wrong order. Everything inside was on, but no employees visible. Waited approximately 10 mins. But no one ever came to the window. Hours posted on the window way drive thru is open until 10 pm. Second time they were closed on a day that they did not say they're going to be closed (day before thanksgiving I think). Third time, they did not give me a receipt at the time of purchase/food handed to me and I had to ask for it afterwards. I pointed to the sign that said "DID YOU GET YOUR RECEIPT? IF NOT, YOUR MEAL IS FREE!" - and they not only refused to refund my money, they wouldn't do anything. Told me to make a special trip the next day 5pm to speak with a manager. When I called back that evening, to speak with a manager, they not only complained to me for filing a complaint, but they told me they "didn't care" and "didn't understand what my problem is". I went today 17 October with my daughter and we weren't sure what we wanted. I told the guy and he was very friendly about it. He came back again and I told him we were still looking but there was no one in line behind us. His Supervisor then came on with a a very thick accent, but what I did understand was her saying, "we have a Lobby if you're not sure what want". I had even told her there was absolutely no one behind us before she even said that. I gave her the order and I asked the friendly guy at the window what is name was. He said Brian. I told him he was very nice and friendly but his supervisor was very rude. He seemed to try to avoid the topic. I can't blame him because he probably thought he would get in trouble. That is also what the sticker on the outside of the quick pick up bag says. Went into the store, they handed me the bag, didn't say they were out of anything but when I got home and opened the bucket I found there were no breasts, and they substituted things as the replacement. Since sheltering in place, we've been mostly cooking at home and allowing ourselves to order takeout once or twice a week. What a waste to have decided on getting KFC this week. Like another reviewer had mentioned, KFC has been blitzing the crap out on social media and a little nostalgia kicked in as I had not had it in over a decade. How regretful. Firstly, the chicken pieces were tiny as hell and lacked any flavor. The Colonel has been skimping out those 11 herbs and spices. My wife looked at her chicken and said, "hey, this must be yours because I ordered extra crispy" and I'm like, "nope, that limpy ass thing is yours. You don't even want to know what my original recipe be lookin like". This meal left me sad and mad. I had fond memories of their chicken and now I can't imagine ever going back. Jimenaa, one of the manager's, was the one I was dealing with at the drive thru. When i was putting in my order, she was so rude and kept talking over me and was not listening to what I was saying. I was giving her the name of a combo meal to order that is on the menu online, and she was saying there's no such order. So after going back and forth we finally figured out a meal similar. Than I pulled up to the drive thru window, she takes my card, charges it, gives it back to me, than tell me she wants me to back my car up. When I asked why, she rudely said, "your buzzing in my ear on my headset!" I have never had a drive thru employee tell me about a buzzing in there ear because my car is to close at any drive thru I've ever been to. She made me back up about 20 feet for about a 1 minute and than rudely told me to pull up. I than checked my order right at the window to make sure everything was there, because I had no trust in her at this point. She rudely stared at me as I did this. I got home and opened up the food and saw she put no gravy on the famous bowl that i had ordered. It was so dry and bland. I will say the KFC in San Jose picked up the slack for Jimenna that she was lacking. I went to the KFC in San Jose the next day, explained I ordered the famous bowl from another KFC and was given no gravy. The KFC in San Jose kindly went and got me a courtsey small side of gravy so I could eat my meal like it should have been originally, which I really appreciated. Before the other day, it had been awhile since i have been to this KFC in Redwood City, but in the past they always had decent customer service. Looks like Jimenna is now one of the manager's and changed that reputation for the worst. Her attitude is terrible and I'll never go back to this KFC because of that experience. read more
