I was craving a burger and fries and happened to be in the area. I heard and read a few reviews about this location and noticed just how negative it was. But I always try to give a business at least one opportunity so I can give it a fair shot. That way I can make my own impression of what to think. So I tried to go through the drive-thru, and even with a mid-size SUV, it was really tight and didn't want to risk it. The drive through was extremely tight and very run down. The curb was damaged and in shambles and the drive-thru screen, as definitely seen MUCH better days. So, I parked and decided to walk-in. Hoping to grab a quick bite and head back to my car to eat. As I walked in, I stood there for a few minutes with three employees there and not one single person acknowledge me. One gentleman was doing the drive-through so I kind of understand why he was busy but the two ladies seem like we're having conversations with each other. Saw me standing in there and said absolutely nothing. Now, I see why so many people complained about the services and the lack of Customer Service here. Finally, the gentleman who was operating the drive-through said hello and took my order. I can appreciate him for multitasking, but at the same time, I'm not sure what the two other ladies were even doing then. Because he can't seemingly be doing everything. I proceeded to order a munchy box and that went smoothly. I ordered a jumbo jack with curly fries and a lemonade. I'm glad I decided to eat in the car because although it wasn't busy, this place did look outdated and a bit rundown. Not the kind of place someone would feel comfortable eating in, if you know what I mean. I know it's not easy operating a business, especially in today's day and age, but if you want to attract more customers. There needs to be more of an emphasis on keeping a clean, and modern location. I can't speak brothers, but I know when I go into a place to eat I wanna make sure that it's as clean and comfortable as Sadly, the food wasn't too good. The fries were crispy, but lacked salt and therefore it just felt like a crispy bland potato. The burger, although, looked smashed or squished. despite it sitting on the top of the fries. It was a very thin and sad looking burger, Patty with no seasoning either. There was a large amount of mustard and mayo. Maybe too mask the lack of flavor. But it just felt like a frisbee style bun, with mayo and mustard on it. And although I didn't eat the burger immediately. I ate the fries first. by the time I got to it, it was very cold. Not sure how a burger can go from hot to cold in less than three minutes. even with it wrapped inside of the bag. The only thing worth enjoying was the lemonade. In my opinion, it's my go to. Overall, I do see what people are complaining about. Despite, the many and lengthy amount of issues/ complaints, over the years. Nothing has been changed or updated. Not sure what was happening, but it looked like the menu board was leaned up against the wall. There's no drive-thru lane or pathway. You just order and drive around the building. The server was cool. He offered me napkins and ketchup. However, the food wasn't too good. The fries were crispy, but lacked flavor or salt. The Jumbo Jack burger was a thin meat patty with a slice of cheese. They load it up with lots of lettuce to make it look larger. When you eat it, you hardly taste the beef. Ok.... If you drive a larger car (suv, truck, etc.) and try to approach the drive through.. you are 200% going to drive up on the curb, scrap your rims or worse. That being said let's get down to business! I only eat so many things from any Jack in the crack so I feel like I have a good idea of how it should be made or at least taste. This time around I was getting the ultimate breakfast sandwich combo (coffee for the drink). I am filing a major complaint against the jack in the box in San Carlos, California.. this is going to be a legal issue. On 9/22/2024 at approximately 5 PM.. I went through the drive-through of Jack-in-the-Box, I ordered a couple items.. when I got to the drive-through window, I noticed a man that I had dealt with before that works there, but I do not know his name because I've run into him a couple other times where he refused to give me his name or make up an order for me. I paid for my food with my debit card and it was the same guy. He kept saying oh you have such a nice car. Ect.. and then when he handed me the order, I couldn't believe it. The whole bag has been immersed in cigarette smoke, and it just REEKED!! I put it up to my nose to make sure I wasn't imagining this, and my face felt like it was on fire. This is unacceptable, and was done with malicious intent. I immediately threw the bag out the door. All my other bags that were in the front seat underneath that bag got the smell of cigarette smoke all over them. My car now smells like cigarette smoke. I tracked and cigarette smoke because of the smell was so strong it wasn't just a little bit. I tried calling the store no one answers... This guy needs to lose his job. This is completely done with malicious intent, and I've dealt with him before. I need to talk to a REGIONAL manager and have something done about the situation. They're going to have to pay for having my entire car detailed out. This individual needs to lose his job. I don't know if he was involved with another person, but he was talking to someone in the back. Never write reviews but this one was worth it. 4 o'clock in the morning, not a SINGLE person in the drive thru or inside. Sat at the menu in the drive thru for about 15 minutes before the guy finally answered. Should have drove off at this point but nowhere else was open and it was Christmas Eve. Order, make it up to the window and get handed my lemonade. One sip, tastes like they mixed week old frying oil and lemon water together, no big deal I just want my food. 25 MINUTES it took for me to get my food for a total of 40 minutes at this damn jack in the box to get a burger and fries... unreal. Fast forward to my burger, looked like it had been thrown on the ground a few times and ran over, got about half way through it and immediately got sick. I hope the franchise owner is reading these reviews. There are interpersonal issues happening between your workers that is affecting the service and quality of Jack-In-The-Box products. I ordered the sourdough chicken, 2 orders of fries, a chocolate shake, and a coke. When I get to the window I get handed a strawberry shake. No biggie I reminded the employee it was a chocolate shake and she makes me a chocolate shake that's barely blended but whatever. She hands back my CC tells me to pull forward and she'll bring my order. I say can I have my receipt? She seemed distracted so again no biggie and gives me my receipt. She comes out and hands me two bags. I get home and notice no coke...Then I try the sourdough chicken and fries and let me say a dog wouldn't eat them. Old, soggy, and cold. For the price these days I just couldn't let it go so I went back with receipt in-hand and told the server she forgot my coke and to please remake the fries (I had already taken several bites of the chicken sandwich before throwing it out so I let that slide). While waiting for my fries, I could overhear the employees arguing and making accusation between each-other (I am a Spanish speaker). They were polite to the customers but witnessing the ruckus going-on behind the counter convinced me that this location has bigger problems than soggy fries. I come here if I'm late and don't have time for breakfast at home. They are never crowded and the drive through is fast. I only get breakfast items from here, standardized and consistent with other jack in the box. Sometimes the hash browns taste a bit old or are too oily, breakfast sandwiches are always good. Do not recommend the coffee here, the orange juice is much better tasting. Coffee also comes so hot you often can't drink it with your food. read more

Drive through timing scam. As soon as they take your order they ask you to wait in a parking space even if there is no one behind you so that they can keep their wait times short. There is a timer by the order window. Also they never clean their soda lines. You can taste it in the drink. I hate to leave a negative review, but the corporate office was not answering the phone. I just ordered a combo meal and the cashier lady dressed in all black was coughing into her hand. She seemed sick , because she coughed multiple times and I was only there a few minutes.
