This specific Skyline Chili location is on Cross Creeks Boulevard, just off of Hill Road N in Pickerington. We chose to stop here specifically because we were taking the food back to Pittsburgh, and wanted it to be as fresh as possible. So, we stopped at the Skyline location that was the closest to Pittsburgh/located the furthest east along our return route.
Skyline is the corner storefront in a strip of several businesses. From what I saw, there was no road signage, but the store has signage on both the sides of the building. I could see someone not familiar with the area initially having trouble locating this, but once you know which area it is in, it should be straightforward to find. Just to note, you have to drive slightly past the building to access Cross Creeks Boulevard from the intersection!
The curb appeal here is nice. The entire complex features businesses that all have the same storefronts, and the exterior seems to be well-maintained. You will find the Skyline entrance, along with a drive-thru, on the left side of the building. Though the restaurant itself does not specifically have outdoor seating, there are some benches that line the front porch area of the complex to utilize.
Once inside, you will enter into the dining room. It is not too large, but probably has the capacity to seat 70-80 people. There is booth seating, four-top tables, circular tables, and a bar seating with stools. Several TVs hang around the restaurant, so you can catch your favorite team playing while enjoying the meal.
The menu features what you would expect from a Skyline Chili location. They have all the signature items - Coneys, 3-Ways, 4-Ways, 5-Ways, and much more. There are also canned, boxed, and bottled to-go items available, like what you would find in the grocery store. Though the location is in the middle of the state, they still feature Cincinnati marketing and promotional items. For example, they had Bengals bobble-heads on this particular visit.
Our visit here was around 7:30 PM on a Sunday evening in September. It was not at all busy in the dining room, with only a few groups dining in. We were initially unaware there was a drive-thru, so even though we were only ordering takeout, we went in to place our order. Since it was not very busy inside, we were taken care of right away.
We put our order in with the woman at the front counter, and she was very kind. After communicating the order was to-go, and we were driving it a few more hours back home, she made sure the staff took great care in packaging everything separately to keep the authenticity of the dishes. This was to ensure optional reheating, so for example, the cheese was in a separate container as the pasta. I very much appreciated the staff's care and attention to detail in this manner.
After placing the order, we only had to wait a few minutes for it to be prepared. We were in and out of the place in under 10 minutes. Though they were careful in the preparation of our order, it was still quick service overall.
The food was packaged well, and made it back safely to Pittsburgh. My dad greatly enjoyed his Coney and 4-Way, thanks to the care and attention of the staff at this Skyline location!
Overall, this was a very positive experience at the Pickerington Skyline location. Service was quick, accurate, and most of all full of intention. I appreciate the staff and their kindness when preparing our order. The location itself is clean, bright, and welcoming. I would highly recommend giving this Skyline location a try if you are local to the area, or just find yourself passing through.
