I had an odd craving for the kfc bowl. The bowl that used to cost $5 with a drink is now $8 without the drink. The bowl was only 1/2 full with 4 pieces of chicken. How disappointing. I don't do gravy and the cheese was almost non existent. $8 for mashed potatoes and corn seems pricey. I doubt I will have the craving again anytime soon. read more

So every year or two I get a craving for Kentucky Fried chicken on every year or two they never feel to disappoint. I went today and got the two piece dark meat extra crispy and with coleslaw because I do love their coleslaw so I asked for an extra coleslaw. I got it with the iced tea, which was good too. OK so enough of the good;how was the chicken you ask? Not good at all. When ordering the extra Cole slaw at 3.59 before tax for a small, I thought instead of the 8.99 2piece meal deal I could have gotten the 12.99 3 piece and skipped the Cole slaw. It is good but the amount they give you for basically $4 with tax is criminal. They used to sell it by the punt for about the same amount, long ago in days of yore apparently. But I'm glad now that I did not get the three piece. The extra crispy was more than crispy; it was absolutely hard as a rock. The chicken inside was smaller than the "crispy" skin so it was either cooked too much or old and reheated, otherwise the chicken would be the same size as the skin. I went at about 12:15-12;30 noon-ish so it wasn't that it was off busy hours. At least the biscuit was somewhat fresher than usual... but c'mon it's supposed to be known for the chicken and this was a huge disappointment. I went through the drive thru. And I guess I'll keep driving by from now til I forget that I used to kinda like it, and be silly enough to try again. I likat least when it wasn't either too greasy or too dry, but I guess those days are past. I'm really being generous with the three stars. At least the person taking the order was cheerful. read more

This KFC SUCKS!! I got food poisoning from this chicken that wasn't cooked properly. Food was cold, OLD, and chewy Chicken strips for the cost of the meal and served crap is B.S. Wont be coming here again.. read more

Ordered and paid for a bucket combo one hour before pickup. Got there at pu time and told it would be 20minutes. Then manager cut that time in half. I asked for a refund and I would go elsewhere. I was told store could not issue refund, that I needed to contact KFC.com. Did so and now I wait for the $25 refund. KFC.com has no way to communicate with stores on such matters. The manager was actually arguing and defending not having order ready, and could care less that the customer was not happy. That's what happens when you trust in young inexperienced people to run a business. Besides consistently getting orders messed up, they can't even get them on time. read more

Went there to order lunch for family I was told 1 of my things I could only order on line,Mac and cheese bowl.Makes no sense I would have spent over 50$ but decided to go somewhere else.To me this is NOT customer satisfaction. This kfc has the worst management and takes forever to get food. read more

Ordered a $11 box feast.Service was slower than expected, so I thought I was getting "fresh food". Chicken sandwich and tenders I got seemed old with them just reheating to get rid of them. Fries portion they served me was so small. Don't tend to do reviews but this one was really upsetting for what I got read more

Eric you know you served me some dusty old chewy chicken just to get it out. Make this right ($20/7 piece mash potato meal)

Pleasantly surprised that the service at this KFC has improved so much! We hadn't gone in years because the workers were awful; not anymore. I placed an order in a pinch and the girl was SO kind to us even getting us the drinks I meant to order but did incorrectly in the app. The food was fresh and tasted great! read more

Came through the drive-thru, ordered 3 meals, and somehow only 1 was what we actually ordered once we got home and opened it up to eat. All 3 fountain drinks we got might have well have been ice water they were so watered down. At least act like y'all are trying, for awhile now it seems no one there cares about anything. read more

Very nice KFC. Good service and the normal KFC offering. Not sure why there would be any complaints. Clean place too.

They are very rude and will short you out of your order. I spent $40 on chicken tenders meal and was given 11 pieces of what looked like popcorn chicken. What a waste. read more

Horrible! This is the second time I've been given the wrong items or even less. I turned around and went back. I got the manager to fix my order and it was STILL WRONG. Ughh. I'm done read more

My father and I went to go into the KFC on Elm St. and the lobby was closed. No reason why. Just closed. So we went through the drive through. They got our order wrong. Again. We asked for four breasts and four thighs, extra crispy. We go to the window and they said they didn't have enough extra extra crispy to fill the the order. Fine original recipe is okay. But when we got home they gave us a Standard order and NOT four breasts and thighs. If you cannot fill our order say so. Don't give us what we didn't order. It annoys people. It annoys people a lot. read more

What is up with this KFC? I live in McHenry and work in Crystal Lake and I frequently visit the KFC in Crystal Lake and have left them well deserved great reviews! Everytime that I decide to give this KFC in McHenry another try, they let me down. Today I went there to order a couple 5.00 fill up meals (three tenders) and they were charging 5.49. Come on KFC McHenry, get your act together like Crystal Lake and they will come (at least I will)! read more

Ordered 3 Chicken tender fill ups ALL 9 pieces of the chicken were dried out Jerky and translucent, if it wasn't for the biscuit and potatoes, we would have starved.. Could not even get one bite out of one of the 3 in my box... After 15 bux, you would think they would put meat in there not just deep fried chicken skin.. I posted a picture of me holding one of the pieces.. read more

I stopped going to KFC in McHenry, IL three months ago! In the past 10 years I normally got a 10pc chicken only with a coupon. I had no problems with the service then. Early and mid 2021 I noticed 1/2 pcs missing from my ten pcs order! This happened 3 different times! This location needs new owners! KFC is my favorite chicken! read more

To heck with this place. We've bought from them for years and in the past year they have gotten worse and worse. Their policy is to apparently screw people out of their money by always shorting orders. Then when you call they want you drive back and won't give credit. This has happened multiple times and I'm done. read more

If I could give middle fingers I would!! U have 5 or 6 employees working and clearly see me at the counter. I dont even get a simple be right with you. literally i don't understand what's wrong with this kfc. the portions don't match the prices AT ALL. I always go to the one in wauconda and only get famous bowls and the one in wauconda stuffs them as they should. this one puts barely any mashed potatoes in the bowl and it literally looks empty. don't go here read more

Slow slow slow. Fast food restaurants and their pricing which is contingent on speed and why we pay the prices that we do no longer exists. 12 minute wait after ordering. 5 people ahead of me. 6 employees signed in on the chalk board as working. I was there twice and manager was very unprofessional at McHenry KFC. Need new management. They never have enough pot pies ready! I left and went back and the pot pies still weren't ready after more than 45 mins. Then a customer was complaining inside the store and getting more attention than drive-thru line that have already been waiting for half an hour. New management needs to be taken into consideration at McHenry. End up leaving and going to Crystal Lake store and flew through the drive-thru in less than 5 minutes. Wasted over an hour and a half of my time for waiting, coming back and then driving all the way to Crystal Lake. Great Job at Crystal Lake but poor management at McHenry! read more

Make sure you check your food before you leave the drive thru. Ordered 3 meals, got two forks. All meals came with chocolate chip cookies and there weren't any in the bag. Im glad you paved the parking lot but you need to train the employees better. This is the second time this happened and I'm not going back for them. read more

This KFC is disgusting and the so called Manager is more interested in flirting than doing his job. I wrote corporate and they basically swept it under the carpet. We cannot wait until the Popeye's opens on 31 - none to soon - not going here again - If I get KFC I will try the Wauconda location read more

Went there for lunch yesterday and were very disappointed. My husband ordered tenders, I ordered a bowl with no gravy, and popcorn chicken, all to go. His tenders were so so, and my bowl had gravy, even though we specified "no gravy" twice. We were not given a receipt, and for $3, I was not going back. I ate the popcorn chicken and threw the bowl away. This is not the first time our order has been wrong at this location. What to do in McHenry when you have a taste for fried chicken? The Colonel?? Haven't been here for a few years as last time we came it was nasty. Plucked up our courage and walked in. It was cleaner than the last time. So far, so good. It was a weekday evening around 7:15 pm and the place was not busy inside but the drive-thru was humming! A good sign. The floor could have used a mop but most of the table tops were clean yay!!!! The chicken strips meal comes with 3 large chicken strips with a tasty, extra-crispy breading which was delish; 2 sides I chose the potato wedges and cole slaw and it came with a drink for 4.99 - that's a deal that is really hard to beat! I tried the their sweet tea which is very sweet. I mixed it with some of the unsweet tea and was able to get the right amount of sweetness for me. The potato wedges were seasoned but not overly so and were tasty. Well the cole slaw I do like and if you like a creamy, sweet style coleslaw with just a little tang you will like this. Also ordered was the 2 pc. chicken meal with the regular breading which I saw was eagerly devoured by my hubby. He also got the potato wedges. The food was well prepared, tasty, portions good, and the help were friendly and busily trying to get everyone their food - the drive thru was quite busy. I do recommend this KFC if you have a taste for fried chicken in the McHenry area. read more

I ordered a gallon of tea and when I brought it home and poured a glass, it was rancid. I called the store, they said 'OK Thank you' and hung up. I called the corporate office, as I was concerned for the health and welfare of others who may have been given the tea. They took my information and promised to look into it, but no one ever got back with me. They must know how bad their store is, because they didn't even offer me a coupon to come back, or a refund for my tea.
