When the food is as tasty as the customer service is friendly, it's hard not to love all they to offer. The shop is so small that seating is non-existent, (#3) thus it's strictly a takeout and delivery establishment. Their display case of hot foods changes throughout the day, depending on availability. Anything after the late afternoon is a huge gamble, so when in doubt, call ahead of time to confirm whether an item is available. I love to pop in just to get a good visual of my choices -- and I've always managed to walk out with something delicious. Of all the items I've tried, there have been standouts across the board. The oxtail, stewed chicken with gravy, smothered rib tips, meat loaf, and their über famous honey glazed wings and meatballs are fabulous. Their sides of dressing, sweet candied yams, mac and cheese, and fried green tomatoes make for a perfectly complete meal. Even the cornbread is outstanding, which is really saying something. I'd be remiss not to mention their incredibly underrated desserts. The peach cobbler is fire, pound cake and banana pudding are excellent, and their triple layered German-chocolate cake floored me. It was decadent, a tinge savory, and extremely addicting. The fact they offer catering for every item mentioned above means my future potlucks are going to be next level. To be honest the service is slow and at times they're rude and don't wanna do their job. One of the only positive things I can say is that even though the service is slow, the food comes out hot & fresh. I would hope so since they're not busy. My to go orders are usually the 3 piece campus with either mash potatoes, red beans and rice, collard greens & dirty rice. Or I'll get their 3 piece catfish. Sometimes I'll get the dessert (peach cobbler & sweet potato pie). While the chicken comes out hot & fresh. There is zero seasoning on the chicken itself. Not even a pinch of salt. They rely on the batter for flavor. Don't get me wrong the batter is salty & delicious for my palate but the chicken is so bland. Collard greens are uninspiring & boring but edible. Mash potatoes taste just fine but their gravy adds a layer of flavor. Red beans and rice once again, flavorless & they always give you one measly piece of sausage. Their dirty rice is a little dry but not bad. Now for the catfish I actually enjoy it. The batter is the same as their chicken & the fish itself is moist and juicy. The desserts feel like it's store bought and not made in house but it's bearable. Overall, this location ain't it. It's located next to a gas station & the area itself isn't safe. The inside of the restaurant isn't clean either. Lazy & rude employees don't make it any better. If you want some good Frenchy's go to the one on 3rd ward. I would frequently go there but that's no where close to my house so I have to settle for this location. I hope they make improvements before they shut down.

Also it comes with a jalapeño which I drizzled over the chicken. I also had greens and a roll to top it off. Delicious! Can't wait to go back :)

It looks very well seasoned but the flavors as described on the menu or what they sound like by name don't live up to what it actually tastes like. The inside of the chicken is somewhat bland, like there's not much taste to it. The fries weren't that special either, they were pretty standard and could use more seasoning. I'm not sure if it was the entire restaurant but it was very cold inside; the AC was blowing directly onto us and the food which made the experience a little less enjoyable. Pricing was actually pretty good compared to other places, but other than that quality could use some work. Not a bad place to stop by if you want more food for a lower price.

My family and I walked in and immediately I was curious why on a Saturday afternoon the restaurant was not busy. Although the food was delicious, what was lacking was the service and communication. We arrived at the restaurant, and they had two other tables that were enjoying their lunch. We were their third occupied table. We looked over the menu and ordered with a young gentleman server. After we ordered, I noticed another customer came and sat right behind our table and they ordered as well. I'm unsure whether the restaurant prioritizes online and takeout orders, but throughout our visit, the kitchen continuously brought food to the pickup window while servers packaged to-go orders. What made the experience even more frustrating was that a table seated behind us received their food before we did, even though they had arrived after us. When the food was delivered to the table behind us, one of the staff members appeared surprised and gave me a look that seemed to acknowledge we had been waiting longer. By this point, we had already been waiting 35 minutes for our meal. Later, the staff brought out bowls and spoons, so I asked our server how much longer the wait would be until our food will be serve. She responded, "About 10 minutes," but did not provide any explanation for the delay. After I asked about our order, I noticed the staff member relayed my question to another employee. This left me even more confused, especially since it seemed they were already aware that we had arrived before the table that had been served. In my opinion, the servers need to be trained better and communicate with their customers. Making fun of customers behind the host/cashier stand because I asked a simple question is not ok.

The bread the veggies that came out were very good. The appetizer sampler we got the eggplant dish, hummus, and yogurt and shallot. The hummus was not our favorite as our other go to Persian places seem to have a smoother texture but the eggplant was good. The yogurt was pretty tangy with light shallot flavor that wasn't super detectable but it was still nice. The koobideh was juicy and the rice and tahdig that came with it was super yummy. I don't love the seasoning for the chicken koobideh but that's just a preference thing nothing was wrong or unpleasant about it. The lamb koobideh was on point. The meat that my SO had was very good as well. Beef was tender. The chicken was tender. The only thing I was confused about was that my SO was supposed to also have tahdig on his rice but didn't receive it, he just got normal rice. My SO didn't tell me until the very end of the meal though so we didn't say anything to them but it was strange to forget that part of the meal. We didn't knock them for that because my SO didn't bring it to their attention and I'm sure they would have fixed it if we told them. Service was very friendly. They kept checking on us and were very polite. The outside of the restaurant is unassuming in a strip mall but the inside is pretty. There are some other Persian places that we prefer but the tahdig and the service and the juiciness of the meat were great here. The hummus was not our favorite though which to us is a big component that we like to eat. 4/5.
