Kiki gave me one of the best deep tissue massages I've ever had. One thing I loved about her service is that she did a 15 minute consultation before the massage and discussed my problem areas. This 15 minute consultation was not taken out from the 60 minutes for my massage like some places do. I thought this was very considerate and I was happy that I got a consultation and my full 60 minute massage :). I get a good service from 5 stars providers, and they get another happy client and another good review to boost their business. Unfortunately that is not the case with KeyyStrokes massage. When I was searching for a massage therapist I saw that KeyyStrockes is rated very high so with high expectation I booked a package of 3 session with Kiki. She send me a long text of information asking me to arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled 1st appointment " to discuss medical history" Also texting me that if I am 15 minutes late my session "Will be voided for inconvenience and no refunds will be issued. No Call/no show occurrence are inconsiderate... ". Very tough... if I am late 20 minutes why cancel the session I still have 40 minutes left that I paid for... The 1st appointment was scheduled for 4pm, To be on the safe side I came at 3:45. The place is in a basement of a very busy and noisy hair salon. I asked for Kiki and was told that she is not here yet. At 3:51 I text Kiki that I am here no respond. At 4pm she finely called me to let me know that she will be 10 minutes late. She sowed up at 4:20 half hour after the time she wanted me to be there.. So much for consideration. If you want to receive respect and consideration you got to do the same. It works both way. By 3:30 you knew that you are not going to make it in time. At least have the decency to call me and let me know. Before the massage I asked her to massage also my feet and my abs, and be very easy on my thumbs and the side of my thighs. She was not willing to do my feet and abs as it is not part of her 1 hour routine, I was pretty shock. Any other 5 star massage therapist always was willing to adjust to the massage that I wanted. Each client is unique. When you go for a hair cut the hair dresser will cut your hair the way you want even when you go to eat at MacDonald which have a very set basic menu, and you ask them more Tomatoes and no onion they will accommodate you. Kiki has very simple plan routine and no flexibility at all to a client want and need. Her pace is too fast, no face sculpt abs or feet to a FULL BODY legitimate massage. On her website she said she incorporate percussion strokes. I asked for it and didn't got it. All in all below mediocre massage not at all client friendly at all. She charge 8.875% sales tax even though in NYS there is no sells tax for service like there is for selling merchandise. and NYC sell tax for services is only 4.5% ( check it out ). The 1st session was 0 Stars. the second and 3rd were 2 stars which is an improvement from 0 but very far from the 5 stars I expected. I went to Key Strokes after purchasing a 3 massage package. The massage room is located on the lower level of a salon. The room was nicely decorated and most importantly clean. As long as you are okay that the location is a salon and not a spa you'll have a wonderful experience. My masseuse Kiki was amazing and regularly asked if I was comfortable and if the level of pressure was sufficient. She put a hot towel on my back half way through the massage and I was in heaven. Before and after the massage she also offered me cucumber infused water and showed me a few stretches to help my lower back pain. I'll definitely be back again. This was above and beyond the best massage I have ever received and mind you I've gone to quite a few places in the city and on vacations. I have never had a massage therapist give me a consultion and inquire about my health and sensitivity. She did this and I completely understand why. I had foot surgery on a fractured foot and have been on my couch on and off for months, the stress of not being able to do for myself caused so much tension and aches. So I was long overdue.
