I higly recommend this place. My mom put the wrong key in our front door lock and it got stuck. We tried everything to get the key out. I took the lock out and we took it to Keys Plus. They got the key out and they didn't charge her anything, which is pretty much unheard of in the world we live in today. read more

I left my keys with fob on the roof of my running Cadillac CTS-V while distracted with loading my grandkids. Drove off and at about 50 mph, I heard a funny noise as I went around a corner on the winding country road. After about a half mile, I realized it had to be the keys I forgot about! Next day, I walked the area where I thought the keys fell off the car. Miraculously, I found the actual keys and key ring on the right shoulder, and a smashed-to-bits key fob on the opposite shoulder. I brought the bag full of junk to Keys Plus, and Dan looked at the wrecked parts.I asked him to order a new one ($350) but instead, he took the loose green circuit board out of the bag, put a battery in it, and it worked! He ordered me a new case, which arrived in a couple days. He put all the parts back together and I picked it up today. Works perfectly for $28 instead of $350. I's gratifying to find an honest business who does the right thing. He could have easily sold me a new unit, and I wouldn't have questioned it. Dan and Ernie of Locks Plus are simply outstanding! This place is a f-ing joke! I bought a set of door locks with keys and they didn't fit my application so I ordered a new set and they absolutely refused to refund my first purchase or helped out on the price of the other set. These locks came with a pair of keys. They were not coded to an existing key and he said he can't re sell them which it total BS! I suggest you do not do business with these pricks and find another reputable locksmith in the Placerville area that actually cares about their customers!! This guy is great! I bought an xj awhile back and my husband lost my hatch and door lock key (you have to manually unlock the hatch every time to close the damn thing) so I went in and told him I needed a hey made for the lock but I didnt have a key to base it off of and he told me I needed to pull the lock out of the door and I said okay (growing up my dad had a wrecking yard so tearing apart a door and doing this kind of thing wasn't new for me) I started talking to my husband about tearing apart my driver door and the man at the shop (owner?) made a point I never even would have thought of and said I aut to pull the passenger lock because it would have the least wear and would make the best fitting key! Okay, so I've been going to Keys Plus for years! Why? Because they are the only ones I can ever depend on getting Keys that actually work! They have solved so many lock/key issues for me. I just discovered a diamond in the ruff!! I had to have a few duplicate keys cut, and went to "Keys Plus", but this was no easy job!! I needed several keys made for my old pickup (1947 Ford), this took Pete (the owner) over an hour. Such tenacity & grit. My truck's battery died and got a jump (twice) from Shawn, Pete's assistant. I have no idea how this place could get a bad review. My experience was beyond satisfatory here. I had to get a transmitter key duplicated for my car. First of all, he charged me far less than the dealership would've charged. And second, he didn't just duplicate the key and send me out, he actually came out with me and made sure that the key worked in my car. He was very full of good advice and knowledge about my key and my aftermarket security system. I would recommend this shop over any other one. read more

These guys are great!! The best place to get keys, locks or copies. We've been coming here for years. The work is top notch and the folks are honest, knowledgeable and super nice. They stand by their work, do things right to begin with, and all with a smile. Once we we on the other side of the parking lot and our truck wouldnt start. One of the guys from Keys Plus came over and gave our battery a jump- I don't know how he even knew we needed help, but he was there with his cables and we were on our way in minutes. I have always used this place for any copies of keys we have needed. About a month ago I was at Raleys and accidentally locked my baby in my car with the car running and thankfully the air conditioner on. I was frantic and ran over to this place while someone stood watch over my baby. The owner immediately grabbed his gear and locked the place up. Although it seemed like an eternity, he had my baby out of the car within 10 minutes. I honestly didn't care if someone had to break my window to get me to my baby, but am so thankful he was around to help me out! I would recommend anyone and everyone I know to this place. read more

It's nice to do business with such an honest business, they are great! I had a waterproof watch battery replaced here and during my next swim 2 days later it leaked and died. I stopped back by to see if I could return the new battery, not intending to hold them responsible for a leaky watch. Upon inspection it became clear the rubber gasket was pinched during reassembly after the battery was replaced. They insisted that they replace the watch, as well as refunding for the battery, because they felt responsible for the pinched gasket. Normally I would never hold them responsible for the watch but they stepped up and owned the problem. GREAT service - GREAT price, I went to the dealer to get an extra key done for my car, they were asking over $200.00 and I had to come back in a few days. A friend recommended me to Keys Plus in Placerville, I called them for a price quote and decided to go to with them, I was done in less that an hour and much less than what the dealer was going to charge me. Keys Plus has been in business for years, a testament to a friendly, professional, and talented crew. I cannot explain why RJ could leave such a negative review. I assume he was just having a bad day. I had Keys Plus install a lock that was fitting poorly. As this was the only part available, it was essential to get it right. By the time he was done, he had to redrill and reassemble the whole mechanism. The entire time the man (one of the owners) was patiently persistent as well as friendly. Five stars! read more
