I know everyone is giving rave reviews here and I am sorry for not joining the band wagon. It was a pretty OK place overall. let me start by saying that I have been to many dueling piano bars and regular ones too so I am basing it off of my experience and history. Positives: * Waitress was fantastic! She was very attentive and highly energetic. It added to the high fun and entertainment atmosphere. The place was packed and the crowd was various in needs and she still was a rock star. If I could just give her 5 stars, I would. * They try very hard on pumping up the audience. * Venue size is not bad and holds a good amount of people with various needs. Corner high seating, crowd participation seating, special occasion and event seating, and stand up section at bar. * Drinks were average in price but well made. * Never a cover charge! My personal negatives: * I have never been to a place that tried so hard to suck money out of people. They tried hard and the theme of the place as well as the events made people want to compete, generating more tips. it felt a bit evil in atmosphere because of that template they used to do such things to people. * I need to make another point of it because it was so evident. The whole entertainment was to see how much money they could make. The entertainment was apparent after noticing that they never sing a whole song properly or to its entirety without a "commercial" or ad with every line or chorus, promoting the crowd to pay up or pay more. They use every trick in the book to juice the people. It was a sad but entertaining (for a little while) and intriguing experience. On a side note: For the purpose of Yelp, I sent in my request for 1 song with a $20 bill and timed it. The average clip of song they played was about less than 3 minutes and birthday requests that cost a minimum of $20 were about 5 min. They announce in the beginning of the show that they play your song in tip amount order. Based on these facts, my song took over an hour before the request was fulfilled. * Performances were of average quality and rarely honored the artists poetic theme. The whole theme of the place was to get the people high and energetic more than the skills of music itself. (don't get me wrong, they are very talented, just not put to the use I have seen at other venues) This all being said, the establishment has high potential if you play it smart. because the service was great and drinks were good and priced well (with entertainment). If you see the issues I have seen and agree but want to have fun still, you do have the option to sit back and just drink, have great company, live entertainment, and great service if you like. You don't have to participate but, I can't just sit back and watch this happen and reward them for such blatant feeding off victims. That's just my personal opinion. (But you may see me there again as I still enjoy great service and drinks. . . even though it means I need to ignore the slaughter) read more

Just had my graduation party there with my sister and a bunch of our friends. It was awesome. Vegas style awesome. We laughed and cried. Drank and danced. Aaron Buckner was a savant on the ivorys and was more than willing to play the crazy songs we requested, he even played the new Britney song for my wife. I highly recommend checking them out. Had an amazing time last night! Drinks are reasonably priced and the service was excellent! You can either reserve seats ahead of time, or grab a high top table by the bar. We ended up sitting in the bar area and had a great view of the pianists. They did a great job of playing all the songs requested.....they can play any and everything! They also did a great job interacting with the audience. You can dedicate songs to someone, and they will bring them in stage, let them sit on the piano, and serenade them with a dirty song! First bad part of the experience the website and the recording on the phone state there is no cover charge. Nope, you get there and they tell you there's a $5 cover. When you tell them it's advertised on the website and on the phone recording they tell you at the door, it's a $5 cover now. Well then update the information on your website and phone recording. Second part that wasn't a good experience was the wait staff. I ordered 2 mixed drinks (strawberry lemon drops) which I knew would be expensive and my boyfriend ordered cokes, no alcohol. He was the designated driver and got 3 refills for a total of 4 cokes. When we got our bill it was $30! Outrageous for 2 drinks and a coke. Turns out they charge for each coke but fail to tell you this at $3 each! The only good part of the experience was the pianos. The entertainment was very good but not enough to make it more than 2 stars because of the inadequate information and lack of communication of the server. read more

Bring cash, so you can participate in song changing! Really great service, such a fun experience the guy with the long hair is unreal talented, absoloutley insane. They do an amazing job...until they switched players and this other guy came up. Though he was extremely funny and talented... It eventually went way, way too far, and suddenly It was all extremely inappropriate material. I think some profanity is, well apart of the experience. But this was constant, very sexual and detailed references to people in the audience, singing songs about body parts and anything else weird that you can think of, that made us eventually just leave. My friends who had been before said it usually wasn't that bad, so maybe I would go again just to see if that was the case. read more

Was there this last Saturday night for my grandsons birthday. The entertainment was spot on they were 5 stare. My review is about the horrid rude service. My party was seated just inside the door by the entrance. The young woman waiting our table seem insulted that I would order a beer and to have the nerve to pay with cash. I gave her 10 dollars for a 5 dollar beer and she was insulted that I wanted change and was not tipping at 100 percent. She brought the change back and slammed it on the table and did not wait for her tip. This was the beginning of what would prove to be a challenging night. I ordered another drink last and after and hour and 15 minutes still was not served. I went to the bar and they would not serve me either. It is a shame the service is so bad that it detracts from the wonderful entertainment provided. The service is an absolute minus 5. read more

It was fun for a one-time experience. Overpriced for song requests and a bit raunchy, but I get that they are appealing to drunk middle-aged folks. Anyway, if they could actually play the songs people request it would make the experience better. And maybe better tables and more seating room. Came here for a friend's birthday and I definitely enjoyed myself. The guys singing were great! The atmosphere was great! The only thing that bothered me was how expensive the drinks are. $9 for a small drink was a little pricey to me. And if it's supposed to open at 8:30 I expect doors to be opening at 8:30 not to be waiting in the cold. I also understand that the more money you give the more likely your song will be played but come on have a little more variety then rock or country. I swear for the whole hour and a half I was there I heard about 30 Rock & country songs combined. Other then that I had a great time and would definitely come back. read more

Went here for their New Year's Eve party, my friend called a week ahead and got us a table right in front of the stage. There was a $10 cover for the NYE event which was contrary to their "No cover ever" sign on their window; however it was well worth it. The atmosphere is great and the entertainers really enjoy themselves and are keen to their audience. They are also extremely talented players, they played everything from Guns and Roses to "What does the Fox say" and did it well. There is a bidding system where you can outbid a song for the original amount + $1. It adds quite a dynamic to the place when you get different groups bidding for their song to be played or just to not have a song played. I would recommend this as a great place to go with a group, because you can pool your money to get your songs played. The service was great, especially for a packed house. Our drinks were barely ever empty before the waitress made her way back for another order. The biggest complaint was the inconsistency in the mixed drinks. Several of the girls in our group got Long Island Ice Teas and there was never two drinks that looked the same. We literally lined 3 up and none of them looked or tasted the same. Also by the end of the night they were so watered down they were barely distinguishable from a glass of water. All in all we will be back and bringing more friends next time. read more

One of my favorite places for an evening out with a group. I loved Keys On Main the moment I walked into the Seattle location for a friend's birthday in the area. I was a little shell shocked because I was not familiar with a dueling piano bar and was expecting an evening of classical piano playing and instead heard a wide variety of music selections including anything from Ray Charles to Sir Mix-A-Lot, Dr. Dre and Backstreet Boys. I liked it so much that I went back a few weeks later to the Tacoma location to check it out and had just as much fun on a Thursday night. The musicians are extremely talented and have a broad knowledge base of songs. The show varies from evening to evening depending on the crowd as well as the combination of musicians playing that evening. If you don't like the songs played, go back and make song requests that you like, the crowd really makes the difference for how the evening plays out. The musicians also have senses of humor and enjoy bantering with the crowd. LOVE them. The bartender is friendly, fun and makes great drinks! What really sets Keys on Main apart is the music focus. Thursdays are much more low key than weekends and do not have a cover charge. You can also hear more of your songs played with a smaller crowd, however the larger weekend crowd is a lot of fun as well. Try a Thursday or a weekend. It's a great group location for events / celebrations because guests and friends can spend anywhere from nothing by not requesting songs to throwing down tons of money and dominating the play list. The pianists were amazing. They were hilarious, entertaining and knew just about every song you could think of! Our only complaint is the customer service I regards to reservations and the management is horrible. We made reservations, missed the confirmation call but called back 3 minutes later and could not get a hold of the manager to confirm our table but we left a voice mail as per the answering machine. We showed up 15min early and they told us that we were now on a waiting list because we missed our confirmation phone call and that it wasn't their fault nor were they going to do anything to remedy the situation. The manager was rude and could have easily made the whole situation better by apologizing for the confusion, made sure we were the first people to get a table that was unfilled and made sure we were taken care of. Even first rounds of drinks would have been nice but unexpected. All in all a great night and we almost closed the place down but I couldn't give it 5 stars because of how the manager handled the situation. read more

I have gone to this Piano Bar five times within a year. The first visit was fun the performers were good and diverse in the music selection. As time went on the performers changed and the shows have became geared towards who can pay the most for a poorly performed song. Also the birthday performances dominate the show...I was there for 1h:45min and there were six birthday performances. One was a lady who can up on stage to give her husband a distasteful lap dance. I don't go out to celebrate strangers birthdays. There is no diversity in the music they can or will perform and unless you have at least $40 they will not play your request. On two occasions I paid $25 and my songs were never performed. If you like AC/DC and Sting with bad vocals and you want to hear those tired ass birthday song this is the place for you but I will never go back again. read more
