Harborstone is a SCAM. They are a credit union but they have shareholders and are profiting off of…read moreyour money which is to be expected. But what is not expected is how they refuse you access to your own funds, everything has to be a song and dance with them to get to YOUR money. After a family member faced a serious life-threatening medical emergency and I needed to withdraw I faced appalling customer service. And that wasn't the first time, this was the last straw! After 20 years of banking with them, having investment, savings, and checking accounts and always carrying more than $20K as a balance in each account it is beyond frustrating and disrespectful that I the account holder had to spend an hour on the phone with various people just to withdraw and cut a check for emergency medical purposes. It's not their business what you use YOUR money for, it is YOUR money and the fact that they always want an explanation and a long drawn out difficult process that no one has time for is ridiculous. They are scam artists looking to capitalize on your money so they are offended when you withdraw. Furthermore, I close out my accounts and these greedy corporate thieves have the gall to charge me an account maintenance fee on a closed account, and threaten to send it to collections over a nominal amount that they charged after the account was closed. Bad ethics, not people to trust with your funds. Terrible customer policies and service. Beware!!!

I was recently issued a check for $10k that was made to me by one of their account holders. I was…read moreclose to this branch today so I figured I'd go in and cash the check and just deposit the cash into my accounts sometime tomorrow. It's not often I will go into a bank to cash a check of this size or any size for that matter. Mainly out of common sense considering all the crime these days and also it seems like it can just be more of a hassle to cash a check when you're not a member of the bank that the check has been issued through. Especially when that check is more than several thousand. But I had time to kill and I figured I'd just go in and knock off something from my "to do list" for the next day. I have to say that it was a very pleasant experience and the teller (whose name I wish I could remember) was one of the sweetest ladies I've come across in recent times. We just chatted about the reasoning behind the check I was cashing and she was mindful to even count it as inconspicuously as possible. Which I was very appreciative of considering it was something I was worried about. That being the teller loudly counting the cash out for the entire lobby to hear. I didn't want to worry about having someone listening and thinking I'd be an easy target to follow home and rob. Which is exactly what I would've been. So for her taking the extra measure to assure I left there without any trouble was greatly appreciated. Over all my experience at this branch was nothing but positive and pleasant. The line was short when I arrived. The parking lot was full of available spaces that are directly in front of the entrance doors. And most importantly the teller was a very kind and helpful lady. I'd recommend this branch to anyone who is looking for a place to bank and lives within the vicinity of their location. However, I feel like it is important to state that my review is purely based on this one and only time I have visited this specific Wells Fargo branch. I can only hope that others will have the same experience as myself.

He then told me that you could just scan it with your phone and send it off, which as a notary, you'd think she would know that for official documents like this that isn't acceptable. Not only was Emily unhelpful and condescending, but clearly clueless and misleading.

I made the switch from Wells Fargo who I've been banking with for a long time now maybe a decade…read moredidn't really have any issues with them until I didn't have enough money in the bank and they kept charging me $20 a month just to bank with them because I wasn't meeting the requirements. Ridiculous, so asked around ...a lot of people online said go with BECU but the only reason why I chose TAPCO instead was because it's really close to my house. I couldn't be happier with this decision, not only are they not charging me to bank with them like Wells Fargo was but when I went in there the other day and was waiting for a new card; on one of their brochures It talks about rewards... which it looks like I qualify for and the one lady Michelle that's helped us before said no problem, that she'd sign me up for it, and that I didn't need to do anything more.... It was awesome! Overall, I enjoy baking with them. The one thing that would make this credit union even better is there were no age requirements on opening up an account. It'd be really nice if my 8 & 9 year old kids could get started in experiencing using a debit or credit card, but for some reason all banks and credit unions don't see the benefits in that and would rather have them turn 18, sign up for the first card while out of the house and totally botch their credit from the beginning.
