You can leave multiple voicemail messages (as was done for both Maria…read moreand Cristina), you can make "phone appointments" online with a date and time for the teleconference, have them confirmed, and no one will return your call or keep the appointment. If you try to call directly, not one person will EVER pick up the pone. The call is forwarded to India or wherever their call centers are located and it takes forever to get answers to simple questions. It's disgraceful that there is no accountability for the people working in this branch and that even the slightest amount of competent customer service is a thing of the past. Avoid this branch at all costs.

I have a joint account with my mom who passed away from Covid. I called the branch to close the account. They said because I do not live in ny I have to contact the 800 number and they can close the account. I called the 800 number and waited on hold for nearly 30 minutes. They then told me they couldn't close the account until it had a zero balance. So I emptied the account and called back two days later. I waited on hold for 21 minutes only to be told that I had to close the account in person. I explained that I did not live in ny. I was told to simply send a signed letter asking to close the account directly to the branch. I couldn't believe that was all I had to do after getting bumped around so I contacted the branch. They told me no, the 800 number was not correct and that the letter had to be notarized. This bank has my signature on file and has wasted too much of my time already. They simply have no clue what they are doing. Stay away!

I noticed that there was an average of 8 people standing in the service line and minimum 6 awaiting special services. I was there for a simple notary but first come first serve respectively. My dread was that there was only 3 people working on special services. I unfortunately had to wait for over an hour to be seen. Perhaps on a Friday before a federal holiday weekend more appropriate staffing would handle the flow. Some folks have second jobs and critical reasons to have expeditious service.
