I am not a member of Key Bank and I feel horrible for anyone who has to bank here. Luckily there is a credit union in the area but I'm sure some people are forced to use this terrible institution. Corporate needs to come visit their little branch in Belfair and do some team training and keep a close eye on the way their employees are treating customers and potential customers.
I have a pre-paid credit card that I can get a cash advance for up to $1500 a day for. I have never had a problem at any other bank getting up to that amount. I have a purchase limit of $2500 and I can take $500 out of ATMs. I went in to Key Bank in Belfair yesterday to get a cash advance out so that I could give my mother in law some money. I should have taken the down the women's names who were working but it was by far one of the worst customer service experiences of my life.
The woman teller who never even greeted me with a smile or hello simply said that their limit on cash advances was $500 and then she didn't feel comfortable giving me the cash advance because my ID says Ren and my credit card says Renata, even though my picture ID is obviously of me, who else has the last name Minowa, Ren is obviously a nickname for Renata, and I had other proof of identity such as insurance cards and a passport. She told me to go use the ATM.
So since I would be getting the same amount of money either way I don't argue with her and I go use the ATM and the machine eats my card. I go around to the front and they had just closed their doors, it was 5:02. The woman wouldn't even open the door to talk to me, said she couldn't retrieve my card through the glass doors and walked away.
My husband called in this morning for me and whoever he talked to said they COULD retrieve cards, and if it was a key bank card, I could come get it. Cards that are not Key Bank cards are destroyed immediately. Huh?! Why can't I come down with my ID, passport, Social security card and proof of mailing address, along with the receipt that I successfully took out $500 was charged $4 by their institution as well as an added charge that they never even disclosed of 95 cents for simply checking my balance. Corporate can you answer this for me please?
Unless someone from Key Bank wants to contact me, I would avoid this place at ALL costs. Travel further, use the credit union, there has to be other options. I will never go near a Key Bank ever again because of this experience at the Belfair Branch.
I now have to wait 7-10 business days to access my money because their machine ate my card. Hopefully corporate will be willing to assist. I can't believe people who are supposed to be trained to deliver customer service would act this way and not try to fix a problem that a machine at their institution caused. read more
