Called them texted, never returned my request and cancelled after three days no response. Very sad to say.

Good job. Arrived fairly quickly, changed our locks and made up a bunch of keys. Nice guys. Very helpful. Would definitely use them again. read more

Demitri answered the phone immediately. I am a victim of Domestic Violence and had my partner arrested. He still had a key to the apartment we lived in. I was very frightened for my life. I needed to have the lock changed immediately. When Demitri heard my story he was at my place within a half hour. He was so sweet and caring and made sure everything was perfect for me before he left. Was not going to wait for the Court to send a locksmith in a week for free. I paid a very fair price. He was thorough, quick and so nice. Demitri from the bottom of my heart I may sleep soundly for the first night in a week. I recommend this company to any that needs service in a pinch!!! God Bless you Demitri. Feliz Navidad y Feliz Ano Nuevo cuidate thank you Nancy Cohen read more

The keys work!!!! They are open for business! I have been to several locksmiths who cut keys that don't work. These guys have the master blanks, their keys work and they are open for business. I hate going to a locksmith to find out they never open their doors. And many locksmiths don't carry all the blanks. In addition, I had a special key they were not sure about and their creative solution worked. This is the place to go for all your lock and key needs! read more

We highly recommend Key Star!! They did a great job changing our two locks, making us key copies and even helping me when I got locked out. Professional, quick, courteous and didn't leave any mess. Call them!! read more

Demetrio was great from the initial call up until he came and re programmed the key to my car! It was a very stressful situation knowing I lost my main key and my spare was never programmed. However Demetrio made me feel very confident that he would have no issue getting me a new key. He was extremely nice snd professional! I will be using him to cut a spare for my other vehicle! Highly recommend! read more

Key Star was recommended to me by a co-worker when it became necessary to change the locks on my new apartment in Great Neck. Being a senior can be challenging at times but contacting Demetrio was a breeze by text. He arrived promptly, was friendly and professional, and expertly changed the two cylinders quickly. He made sure I test all the keys and charged me a very reasonable rate. Don't go anywhere else! read more

My elderly father needed three locks replaced . Communication was great. It wasn't an emergency, but they were able to get me scheduled within a couple of days. KeyStar gave me an estimate that sounded fair, and the price ended up being pretty close to what we'd discussed on the phone. They were on time and did an excellent job. I feel a lot better knowing that my father is safe in his house. read more

Demetrio and Willie don't need my good press, but since this experience is true, I need to share it. Some businesses are efficient; others offer kind humane customer service: Key Star stars at both. I'd found them online and called to see if they could create a duplicate transponder key for my car. Demetrio graciously assured me that he could, we discussed price (less than half of what the dealer wanted) and I came over. It's not a dramatic place, although there is a nice new couch. However, what impressed me almost beyond words was the gentle seriousness of Demetrio's approach. In front of me, a woman was insisting that she had been promised a key for $3.50 and Demetrio now said it would be a dollar more. He explained that he had made an error on the original price and explained that it was a professional Yale key she was looking to duplicate. This in itself would be not the stuff of drama, but the woman was mildly disordered and went over the same scenario with Demetrio perhaps five times. He remained patient, kind, clear; he didn't raise his voice, and ultimately she understood. I stood there, not irritated at her or annoyed that my key was going to take longer: I admired his beautiful patience and kindness, which are rare in business. When we got to my key and my car, all was done quickly and without fanfare. There was no upsell, and I felt as if I'd wandered into not only an ideal business, but a place where human beings are treated with great respect. I don't know if I'll have reason to visit Demetrio and Willie any time soon, but I won't go anywhere else. They deserve all this praise and more. read more

Since I had bad experiences on being asked very high price with another locksmith, so this time I looked up reviews here to find Keystar. It proved that the owner is trustworthy , he Said 275 before coming to our house, when he see I had y own lock which worked, he reduced 50 when finalize the work. I installed a smart lock. He is also technical expert on knowing all the details involved into a smart lock. I will recommend to friends. read more

I lost my car's switchblade key fob (the fob + a foldout ignition key). The Volkswagen dealer wanted $300 to replace it. Key Star replaced it for 175 + tax. The gentleman who helped us, from Mexico City, was helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and very friendly. He knew exactly what he was doing and worked efficiently and quickly. When he was finished, he made sure everything functioned before sending us off. He was a pleasure to work with. I have a tendency of only rating restaurants on Yelp, but Key Star was such a wonderful experience, and saved us so much money, that I felt moved to write this review. Great service, great prices, knowledgeable and friendly workers. I'm really glad we found this place. read more

Great experiencing replacing locks on all of my exterior doors. Quick estimate and very professional, walking me through all of my options. Install was better than I could have expected. They got all of the old doors on the house working perfectly. Key Star was referred to me by my brother in law who was also extremely happy with their service. I would 100% recommend to anybody looking for a quality locksmith. read more

Found and chose Key Star after reading the great reviews on Yelp, and the service was excellent! Demetrio was easy to reach and flexible with scheduling from the first time I called. I say first time bc I ended up having to reschedule; when I called back to reschedule Demetrio was great about working around a time that worked best for me. Demetrio arrived on time and quickly wrote down very clearly all of the things I needed done (just moved to a house with a ton of doors with double locks) and was great about giving me pricing and options that would fit in my budget. He started the work right away and was very professional, and very neat and clean with all the work even when sawing into two of the doors to install new deadbolts. He was also very friendly and didn't mind that my dad decided to hang out and chat him up while he was working (extra points for being nice to my dad!). With regard to the deadbolts that had to be installed, I wanted them in a specific finish to match the pre-existing hardware and Demetrio didn't have that specific one in stock at the shop, so he ordered them right away and came back the very next day to install. He also helped me with some unrelated doorknob issues I was having with some of the older doors and then threw in an extra set of keys for my parents (thank you!). After already spending two long afternoons working on my order, Demetrio still took the time--without my asking him to do so--to double check with me that I was satisfied with the work on every door and that every key worked with every lock, to make sure I had no issues before he left. It was unnecessary but very much appreciated by way of reassurance! Demetrio at Key Star is the best! Very happy with his thorough, expert, and kind service from start to finish and would gladly recommend to anyone. As great as it was to work with him though, I hope I don't see him too often because then that means I locked myself out haha! read more

I had to get new Key FOB and they were super helpful. They programmed my new FOB in less than 30 minutes. The next time you need a FOB programmed, go to them. It was way cheaper and faster than going to the dealer. I only regret not buying the key from them too, because that would have saved me more money! read more

Dimitri was terrific. Was super responsive and flexible. Job was done quickly, professionally. Very satisficed. Would use again.

They are a family company and operate with integrity and empathy. They were prompt, friendly, and helped make an exact replica of my Toyota remote keys at a fair price. I lost my rental car keys, and had a very bad day, but they made my day so much better by being kind and efficient. They're awesome!! :) read more

Truly great service, it was a wonder to watch these guys go to work. Highly recommend!

Straight-shooter. Kind. Great work. I needed to replace the locks at my aunt's house back in Aug 2021. I searched on yelp for a local locksmith. Key Star Locksmith reviews indicated to me that the locksmith would provide a service that was quality, and that the locksmith himself was a good character. This is important to me because I want/need to trust the person who is doing security work on my aunt's home. I need to trust the house is safe when I am not there. I worked with him to purchase a few Yale smart locks. I was familiar with August already because I had bought, and still use, and August smart lock on my home. Yale bought August recently, and you can use the same app to open/close Yale or August locks. He came to my aunts to install 3 Yale smart locks. The job took a few hours. Yale did not have an easy installation process. During that time Deemetrio was incredibly friendly, thorough following the instructions and patient setting up the Smart locks. He is clearly competent. Since Aug, I frequently use the app to open and close the locks when visiting. I would certainly recommend his services for a similar Smart Lock installation. read more

I came into Key Star because I misplaced the key to my truck tool box. Demetrio was very welcoming and knowledgeable ! He was able to resolve my problem by making me a brand new key and, thoroughly, made sure that it worked perfectly with the tool box and that there were no issues. I had an excellent first time experience ! You never know when you're going to need a locksmith, but I've definately found mine. read more

Excellent service!! I called the number from a google listing and the owner answered. He was on a service call and stated that he would call me once finished. He did just that and also let me know that he would check to make sure he had the key. After arriving at the shop, he double checked the key and went through the process of synching with car. After all was said and done, the process took a whopping 15 min. I would definitley recommend and returm agaun, if I needed additional service. read more

Demetrio is the best! I hired a different locksmith from another company who did not do a great job and was dishonest. The cylinder had a huge gap and was crooked, he did not want to fix it and over changed me. I had to call Key Star Locksmith and spoke to Demetrio, he was so nice and understanding. He quoted me a price, he wanted to make sure he gave me a more accurate price so he suggested to send him pictures of the door. He was very knowledgable and honest. Demetrio was so professional and the nicest person, he fixed the defective previously installed lock from a different locksmith and installed a new jiffy lock. I can't thank him enough, I am glad I found a locksmith I can trust. read more

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING Service!!!!! Went in after Nextdoor recommended them. I had been searching for a locksmith to help replace a patio lock that was not standard. I had reached out to about 5 other locksmiths who said it could not be done, it was a complete nightmare. Demetrio was extremely helpful and ordered a few different locks to see what he could replace my old one with. Willie installed the new lock with a few adjustments to fit the door perfectly. I could not have been happier with the patience and service they provided me. They go above and beyond for their clients (They drove all the way to Brooklyn to help me out!) I will definitely be using them again. Thank you again for all of your help! read more
