I saw this store shortly after it opened on Duval Street. I walked in to look at a really good…read morequality pair sunglasses. I found a great pair of Oliver Peoples Sunglasses and was told I could have them in less then 2 weeks (she had to order the prescription lenses for them). So I said OK. 2 weeks and over $400 later, they were not ready. The owner is nice enough to give me a courtesy call and said they should ready in a week. So I go down to her shop to see if they are ready after about 3 weeks, and wouldn't you know it. The store is closed. The owner is out really sick for about 4 days. To make this long story kind of shorter, she finally calls and says they are ready after almost 2 months. I go pick them up and she says bring them in when you have an hour available and I can put a trim on the sides so the lenses blend in better with the frames. At that point I was ready to tell her to give me a refund, so I said for her to keep the glasses and I will pick them up the following day, when they are truly finished. She is currently located on Fleming Street. This is her 3rd store front location in less than 3 years. I don't think I will be buying from her any more. I had to go back once already because the lens popped out and I need to go back to her again for the same problem.

I suspect they're inflating the list price and then discounting it back down to near the real list price. The list price of sunglasses I wanted to buy is $240 (they're unusual enough to make them easy to find on the internet). The store quoted me a list price of $315, less a 20% discount, $239. My 20% discount was more like $1. The salesperson said that giving out the model number would violate company policy. Silly. Moral of the story: Don't impulse buy from this store. Do your homework. Ask for the model number. Check the price she gives you against the internet. That discount you think you're getting may actually be next to nothing. Or better yet, buy from someone else.
