Red's Heating and Cooling

Red's Heating and Cooling

Red's Heating & Cooling installed HVAC systems in our new home. Improper drain pipe installation…read morecaused water damage which they claim they are not responsible for. We moved into our new house on 1/25/2017, in which Red's Heating & Cooling installed both of the HVAC units. From day one we have had repeated issues with both units, requiring several service calls. We have only been in the home about 3 months. The day we moved in the downstairs heat would not work. They had to come 3 times to finally fix that, weeks apart. For the upstairs unit they have had to come out 4 times for various issues. This last time, and the crux of my complaint was they did not properly install the drain pipe for water from the unit originally. They mounted the drain pipe in the drain pan with it going UPHILL away from the unit. The overflow switch failed and because the pipe was going uphill the water could not drain. Because of this water overflowed the drain pan and caused damage to our ceiling below. They came out and rerouted the drain pipe from higher in the unit, bypassing the original drain pipe, but claim there was nothing wrong with the pipe installation and they are not responsible for the damage caused to our ceilings. I would never post a negative review for a company that stands behind it's work. Very disappointed to say the least!

Green Street HVAC

Green Street HVAC

I purchased an HVAC system from Green Street HVAC nearly three years ago for about $18,000--paying…read morealmost $10,000 more than an alternate (unlicensed) quote--only because I was assured parts and labor would be covered and the company would stand behind the install. During a cold front, I requested service (Ref: Estimate #20631848) and asked for basic documentation (contract copy, warranty registration, and a fully itemized estimate with OEM part numbers/MSRP and labor breakdown). The estimate came back over $3,000, with ~$1,700 just for the part, and included a line labeled "Band-Aid." After consulting Service, Inc. (Nashville) and Hiller, I learned "Band-Aid" can function as open-ended billing--i.e., "whatever it takes" after the part is installed, with no clear cap. To verify, I had Service, Inc. review the job. They confirmed in writing that:    *   The part is fully covered under the manufacturer's warranty ($0 to me), and    *   The install is about a 1-hour job, with a labor quote less than half of Green Street's total. In plain terms:    *   I paid a premium (~$18k), nearly $10k more than another bid, for peace of mind (parts + labor assurances).    *   Before a storm, I asked for help and transparency.    *   Green Street quoted $3,000+, including $1,700 for a warranty part that should be $0.    *   Their estimate used "Band-Aid," flagged by two licensed contractors as open-ended/uncapped language.    *   Service, Inc. honored the warranty ($0 part) and quoted a clear, fair price for ~1 hour of work. I support local businesses that do right by their customers--especially when families are relying on heat in bad weather. My experience with Green Street HVAC was unresponsive, non-transparent, and inconsistent with what was promised. If you're considering them, insist--in writing--on:    *   Proof of manufacturer warranty registration (model/serial + confirmation),    *   Written parts coverage terms (what's $0 under warranty), and    *   A fully itemized estimate (OEM part numbers, MSRP/list, exact labor hours & rate; avoid vague "Band-Aid" codes). Date of service request: 10/25 Estimate: #20631848 TL;DR: Green Street quoted $3,000+, including $1,700 for a warranty part and an open-ended "Band-Aid" line. Service, Inc. (Nashville) confirmed the part is $0 under warranty and the job is ~1 hour, at less than half of Green Street's total.

Called Lee Company last Friday because the master bedroom electricity shut off. They sent someone…read moreto come look. He was in and out in less than 10 minutes turns out it was just a tripped fuse which I missed my mistake. But they ended up charging us $139 something so little! I asked him to please charge us less that was just too much and he said nope can't do that. Of course we called back, asking to speak to management. They didn't get back to us. 3 more calls later over half a week I finally got a manager to call me back. Said the guy only charged us $60 to flip the switch, the other $79 was a "dispatch fee". Yes I looked at the box and missed the tripped switch I thought I got them all but come on we payed $139 for 10 minutes of work. They refused to refund us anything from their overpriced fees. Best he could was waive some fees on our next call. Spoiler alert there isn't going to be a next call with the way we were treated. Hey Lee Company, don't treat people like this. Just because times are tough doesn't mean you should rob us blind. I feel very much taken advantage of.

Joseph P., the appliance professional who handled the visit, quickly diagnosed the issue as a clogged freezer drain line and was able to resolve the problem efficiently. Joseph was clean, courteous, friendly, and highly professional throughout the entire process. I really appreciated how quickly he identified the problem and fixed it, which stopped the leak that had been making its way onto the kitchen floor. I also want to mention that even the person who scheduled the appointment over the phone was very pleasant and easy to work with, which made the entire experience smooth from start to finish. The price was very reasonable considering this was not something I could repair myself, and the peace of mind knowing it was handled properly was well worth it. I would absolutely recommend Lee Company to anyone needing appliance repair or home service work.
