The folks we bought it from just topped it off each time before they showed the house. So instead of struggling with the old unit All Temp installed a new unit for us. I checked the air handler, which he never even looked at, and the fins were frozen over. I called him back to let him know what was going on. He said I needed a new unit and told me the Freon must have leaked out. I asked him why he had not tested for leaks before adding the Freon and he said he just didn't.
