My husband has installed one himself, we've paid to have one installed professionally, and we've had multiple companies out for repairs over the years. I actually found Derryberry's through a Reddit recommendation. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. They came out the next day, diagnosed our existing mini-split, and provided a quote for a replacement system. The quote was reasonable, and there were discounts and rebates available. We ultimately chose Derryberry's based on the reviews, pricing, and warranty. Scheduling was easy, and the installation team was efficient and professional. My husband was especially happy with the quality of the Mitsubishi mini-split installation, which says a lot given our previous experiences. We've had the system for about a month so far and everything has been working well. I'll update this review over time because, in my opinion, the true test of an HVAC installation is how the system performs years down the road and how the company handles any maintenance or warranty issues that arise.

I thought he charged quite a bit but have not had to use an electrician for a while. Recently we needed some work so we called them but did not get the same gentleman we used in the past. Instead I got the owner (Joe) on the line. He said he happened to be just up the road so could swing by to take a look. I interpreted this as a friendly (no charge) drop in since he was down the street. He looked at the problem spending about 20 minutes and he also helped me take a look at a project we were doing in our garage. He was not able to fix the issue we needed fixed but said he would send someone out the next day. He was very friendly when he came out so did not expect any issues. The next day a young guy came out, was very nice and immediately found the problem. The problem was a GFI switch that was tripped in the crawl space under the house. Took him all but 10 minutes to fix it. He even wondered out loud why the owner did not fix this the previous day when he was here. This guy told us he had to charge $125 for a full hour even if he was only there 10 minutes so my wife asked him to replace a few switches which he did and all was done very well. The issue came when he "wrote up" the bill. He left the house to go to his truck to write up the invoice and came back. I used a credit card so just handed it to him to swipe on his handheld machine; he did not warn me that the quote was not more than double. When I looked at the receipt I saw a nearly $300 charge that I had just paid for! I thought for sure he made a mistake as the invoice said " 2 hours" for that same day. When I asked him about this he said his boss told him (when he was in the truck) to charge me for his hour the previous day . Keep in mind he offered to drop by saying he was just up the street, and, in my opinion, he could have easily repaired the problem the prior day but instead told him he would send someone out the next day. He never said anything about charging me for his drop in and the young guy the next day never told me up front he was gonna charge my card for more than double the quote and the understood charge. I called the owner who insisted he needed to be paid for his time the prior day. This was the owner. He did help me look at the work going on in my garage so I let it go but I will never ever use this company again. I hope they are happy to get the extra $150 or so cause it cost them an otherwise happy customer and also one who will never recommend them. Interestingly, I needed an electrician again only a week or two later and called Moss Electric who were amazing, trustworthy, fair in pricing and over delivered on service.

His quote was $200 on the low end to $350 on the top end. It would take an hour to 2 hours max. He would have his electricians pick up what they needed. CONS: 1. His electricians had no idea what they were suppose to be doing. Their work order for me what someone else's. 2. They did not have the supplies they needed. 3. I was charged for the time to go back to Nashville & back to Franklin to pick parts they should have already picked up. 4. They asked if I had tools so they would not have to go back to their truck, asked to use my vacuum to clean up, and left tools which they said they needed and would pick up. (they have not) 5. The 2 hour job took at least 6.5 hours & cost me a day of work. 6. The $350 job ended being over $600. PROS: My house did not burn down. This could have all been avoided with an onsite quote. I was told they are in the area everyday, so it would not have been inconvenient. The most frustrating part is being told by Joe 3 times that he has not seen the ticket and he would get back with me. It has been a month, and I have heard nothing. If you like being over charged, and being lied to about following up, the Dr is for you. From my experience, the Dr is guilty of malpractice.

Ray the owner, is professional and knowledgeable. He has fair pricing and quality work. When he met with us, he did a complete evaluation of our A/C and duct-work system. At that point, he asked us what our expectations were and then suggested a couple solutions. Shortly after our meeting, we received his detailed proposal with several affordable options and even a few extras, like UV lighting for HVAC systems and different filters. After we spent some time looking over his proposal as well as others, we had a few additional questions that he was happy to clarify. His knowledge and expertise made us feel comfortable with our decision and we hired his company to install our system. We chose Carrier but he will install just about any brand. Mixed bag here for sure. I needed a new motor for the unit on my rental property in Nashville…read more They came in at a real good price after making a few calls. It was promptly installed about 10 weeks ago. Now, the unit is 13 years old, getting to end of life but I thought it had a few good years left, especially with a new motor now. I was not advised at any time that the whole unit should be replaced. However, my tenant was told during installation of the motor (which wasn't cheap) that the whole thing should just be replaced. Whoa. That's not good business. Fast forward 10 weeks and the unit goes down again. At this point, the tenant has zero patience based on what she was told by Whitley. I have Whitley check it out, and they said it was a freon leak and they replaced 3 lbs to get it working again. BUT, when I call to find out more about the leak, my request to talk to the installer is rejected. I'm only given speculation about the nature of the leak by the person answering the phone. Two days later and the unit goes down again - at this point I know I'm buying a new unit but I'm just not comfortable working with Whitley anymore. The new company I send out gives me details about the (very rapid) leak with the components affected. I end up buying a new unit through them. However, my relationship with the fairly new tenant has been compromised already.
