Was not impressed he broke a lamp and acted like it was nothing used an excessive amount of shrink wrap on stuff that did not even need wrapped then charged me for it lost a cord on my lift chair then spent 30 minutes looking for it and then charged me for the time was supposed to be there at 2 did not show up till almost 230 but charged me from 2 pm did not listen to where i wanted stuff put his helper was great he was careful and put it where i wanted and in my book charged wY to much for a 30 to 45 mile move i would not use him a second time or recommend. I let it go to vm and he started trying to bully me and threatened to take me to court and sue me for defamation of character and all kinds of things. Its all recorded. What I was quoted and charged were two different things. Being 100% disabled veteran on a fixed income, I had a specific budget, Kevin said it's not my fault that you didn't understand the quote and then sat on my living room floor and wouldn't leave until he was fully paid. He also broke my tv and tried to say it was broken when he moved it, no sir, I just watched it this morning. The guys that moved the stuff were great but Kevin is not a veteran friendly business and really doesn't care about anything but money apparently cause he's saying that I can't even file a claim for my tv they broke!! My claims are also not false!! Why would have anyone move a broken tv that makes no sense!! The other 2 TVs are working but you literally broke this one!! Kevin belittled his staff the whole time as well!! So he may be accredited and blah blah blah but he's a really bad person!! Im not making false claims!! Why would i have anyone move a broken tv! That makes no sense!! The fact that he can't even own up to the fact that he did it should say a lot. He may be certified and blah blah but this man is literally a bad human. He talked down to his staff the whole time!! I praised his staff for their work yes but not him! He literally just stands there and dictates. He also did not just wait in my living room! As a single woman, that lives alone, to have a man come in my house and sit on my floor and refuse to leave until he was paid completely, wouldn't leave until I not just asked but told him to get out of my house because I refused to sign something I didn't agree with, made me feel completely violated in my own home! The 2 guys were on it, so yes I kept saying they were doing great not him. The 2 guys left and I was like I gave you the $180 deposit, so I owe you $360, he said no, you owe me $900!! I immediately started panicking!! I had $457 in my bank account cause I just paid for my son to go on this big Larping trip to Canada. He sat down on my living room floor and started justifying all the expenses, I said I'm not disagreeing you did the work, you quoted me $540. He said I'm not leaving until I'm paid. I started freaking!! Full on ptsd kicked in where I felt completely trapped. I couldn't think!! I called my sister and was crying, so yes she was rude, she's my big sister!! I told her to just pay him cause I wanted him out of my house! I said on the phone to her, if I would've known I would've went with a company that offers help to disabled veterans, at which time he said oh I'll give you a 5% discount then. He wanted me to sign the invoice and I refused, when I said I wouldn't sign it, he began raising his voice with me, I grabbed the paper and literally said get out of my house, I'm going to call the police. He left, I put my tv on my mantle and started setting up the Roku cause I needed background noise to drowned out my anxiety, I see my tv is shattered! Also when the guys brought the washer and dryer in, he kept saying I can't hook it up, i said I don't need you to, I know how to do it, it will take 2 mins, at which time he said "oh well uh your boyfriend can come help you with that". Contacted this guy for a quote to move just a few thins form one state to about four states away. Got an outrageous quote, and he kept trying to bully and intimidate me and tell me how "it doesn't matter what you sign, once they get your stuff they can hold it until you pay whatever they want". Super creepy experience just getting a quote from this guy. Further research demonstrates he is a real POS when told "no". See the following response he made to a woman who filed a BBB complaint, trying to make her look crazy, unstable, and an unreliable reporter: "[[BBB transcription via email]] I am the business owner. I was present as the lead mover for the entirety of this job. I am alerting BBB that this customer has severe PTSD. She herself admits to it in her review of my service on Yelp. Any response from me that does not agree with the customer's version of the events has a high chance of causing this customer's PTSD to manifest itself and cause this customer great emotional stress, which I have no wish to do. At this point, I can only provide BBB with my response to the customer's statement and urge the utmost caution with this customer. I saw first-hand her reaction when I presented the bill and she had a severe emotional reaction that I was not trained to deal with. Moreover, the customer was on edge and jittery for the entire move, and my guys and I managed to keep the customer in good spirits from the time we arrived until all items had been delivered. We did this by working very hard, remaining upbeat, using humor, making sure we took all of the items, and doing our best to complete the move in as timely a manner as possible, which is exactly how we do moves for all customers. The facts of the move are this: We arrived on time at 10am. I showed up with a 3-man crew (myself and 2 helpers) and the equipment necessary to transport this customer's items safely. The customer had THREE TIMES the amount of items she originally listed at the time of booking. I have the list in an email. All of the customer's items ended up filling my 20-foot trailer and my 12-foot high roof van. The load time was 2.5 hours and the customer witnessed all of us working very hard and hustling to get her items loaded. The customer heaped praise on me and my guys for not only loading much more quickly than she expected, but also managing to fit all of the additional items. We left the pick up address at 12:30, arrived at the drop off address at 1:30 (the drive from ********* to the drop off is an hour), and had everything unloaded by 3pm. This, when the customer's house was up 2 flights of external stairs plus a basement. Again, the customer heaped praise on all of us during the unload and when we were finished. The customer did not complain about a single thing from the time we arrived until the move was completed. She expressed to us how amazing we were and how happy she was with the move. If she disputes this, both of my helpers will be happy to confirm my version of events, as they were there for the entire move. And one of my helpers, ******. who was present at this move, is a military veteran with multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and has an impeccable service record. Lastly, the customer was billed the base rate of $540, which was for 2 hours of labor (labor time is from when the move starts at the pick up address to when all items have been offloaded) and 1 hour of travel to the pick up address plus an additional 3 hours of labor. The total time for the move was 6 hours, which included the 1 hour of travel to the pick up address. The additional 3 hours of labor was billed at $45 per each 15 minutes. This is 12 increments of 15 minutes @ $45, which equals 540. The customer was provided a 5% military discount and free shrinkwrap. The total billed was 540 + 540 = 1080 minus the 5% military discount of $54, so in total, the customer was billed 1026.00 for services rendered. This is exactly according to the quote I provided verbally and in writing via email. Focusing on the customer's statement, that she was overcharged, is patently false. The customer was quoted the rate for the move verbally when she first called me to get a quote. I also repeat the quote for all customers before ending the call. Once she booked, all of the information for the move was emailed to her. The date all information was emailed was July 31st -- 2 weeks prior to the move. The email clearly states the base rate, how many hours of labor are included and also 1 hour of travel time to the pick up address. The quote also includes the charge per each 15 minutes if the move exceeds 2 hours of labor. The quote also includes the charge per roll of shrinkwrap and notes the deposit. Kevin moved approximately 2 rooms full of furniture to a storage facility for us today. Did my items arrive safely, yes. Would I use them again to move, no. I selected his company based on the reviews and the price he offered on the phone. He did work to accommodate my move and based on his phone estimate, I decided to use them for my move. The problems occurred the day of the move. Because of the type of residence I was moving from, some items were to stay and other items were to be moved. I had to keep repeating myself on what needed to move and what stayed. I even tagged the items to be moved and yet they were getting missed until I said something. There seemed to be no structure as to the process of how furniture was to be padded for moving. For some items, such as a simple table with metal legs, every inch of it was wrapped in padding, it was overkill. Meanwhile, an antique wood table which should have been well padded had no padding around it. The excessive padding took time which could have been spent elsewhere. On the shelf units, they removed the shelves but did not secure the pins that the shelves sit on. They then wrapped the items in shrink wrap. It was not enough though as two of my shelf units have missing pins that I will need to search out to replace. Kevin took no ownership that his crew lost these items. If they had, they would have offered to replace them. The professionalism of the crew could have been better. Fortunately when the foul language started, Kevin stopped it. One of the men was smoking on the back of my truck while my furniture was still loaded on it. I would have appreciated more professional courtesy to other moving companies. I was constantly being told why their company was better then others. Unfortunately, I was not seeing this in the way things were carried out. their attitudes and the way they spoke - they were less than professional. My move before this one involved more furniture, two pickup locations and an hour long drive from the old house to the new house. This move by Kevin the Mover had less items involved, one pick up location and was a 15 to 20 minute drive from the old house to the new house, yet is still took longer than the previous move. This is even taking into account that Kevin hurt himself and was unable to continue moving furniture. He did compensate me one hour because of his injury, but it still ended up taking much more time than my previous move. Because of the way this move was handled, I ended up paying more than I should have paid. By the end, I just agreed to whatever he offered so that I could be done with this bad experience.
