I really like that this park connects to the South Fork Catawba River Greenway. It's pretty short, but a nice walk. It also connects to the town of Cramerton and another section of the Carolina Thread Trail down by the Catawba River. I'm sure the park itself is also really nice when it's not under construction. I definitely recommend checking out the trails that connect to it too.

The park has been open since 2012 and is in excellent condition. The park is 30 acres with hardwoods, vegetation and wetlands. It gets the interesting name from the town's founder, Stuart Cramer, who released goats onto the island to control the weeds dating back to as early as 1910. super lost. literally rn. me and my friend went on a 30 minute run. it has become a hour and 30…read moreminute run because we are completely lost. they dont have a trail map, they dont have a map on apple maps or google maps, they dont have a number to call or a park ranger to contact. what if one of us got severely hurt while lost how would we get help? this is actually ridiculous. and when i did call the number they have listed its just to make appointments. i said F it and tried to talk to someone atleast. when i mentioned talking to a park ranger they gave me a attitude and said "we dont give out park rangers numbers" and the proceeds to give me the number to call, which was the same number i had just called. so thanks. i really appreciate the help. we have been lost for a hour, dehydrated and exhausted. its cool tho we men, we will figure it out thanks to no body.

Every three weeks after her treatments we go for a short walk around the park since it's right across the street. Today, we received some devastating news about her cancer and so after her appointment we went to the park to have a moment with her before driving back to Greensboro. We were kicked out. We've never seen any signs nor has anyone ever approached us about no dogs being allowed. We've seen many other people with their little dogs as well. It felt like a punch in the gut. A place we went for solace just added to our pain.

To the point the noise rattles our homes and blares through the walls. I moved to this area thinking it would be quiet and peaceful, it has been anything but. I reached out to Eunice Donnelly the park and Rec "director" and she did nothing to resolve the matter. She kept directing me to their website for events which half the events they've run this summer aren't even posted on the website! The park is great, the directors and management team are terrible however. She should be removed. They need a true lesson in organization and also respect- the golden rule. They don't care about our community and that is clear now.

Face painting Train rides Frisbee decorating Balloon art Free carnival games VR gaming and so much more! My son had a great time! We even ran into the cat in the hat. There were food trucks and vendors. We were there for hours, and had the best time. The park has about 3 playgrounds that kids can play in as well. Nice park, great event!

This park was very well thought out there's so much to do for all ages. It's great. It's right by the trees so if it gets too hot, you can go into the tree line and play with some of the things that are installed there. That part is outside of the fenced play area, but kids still go over there. There's benches and slides and bridges for them to walk across. Sometimes, if you're lucky you might even go during one of the times that the stick huts are built. Or you can even have fun building them yourself. The area in general is typically well-maintained. The bathrooms are pretty clean, at least from the time that I've been there. Overall, I would say if you're looking for a park to visit in the area, this is definitely one You should check out.

I loved the slides and its architectural design. It also has a walk/bike trail just behind the playground. The restroom in this playground is clean! I've never been in a playground with such immaculate restroom. It didn't smell nor was dirty. The playground is fenced so I wasn't so worried that my 4yr old will roam to other areas without me. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

The park is a great option once the McDowell Nature Preserves park and playground closes. You can quickly head over to the Palisades park and let the kids finish playing. That's exactly what some friends and myself did. The playground equipment is very modern with an old school rocking horse available for smaller kids. I was very impressed by the different pieces of playground equipment. I believe it's ideal to go to this park when school isn't in session because the playground equipment is used by the school.
