Whether you are a dog owner, have children, like to walk/jog, partake in fitness activities or water activities, Ramsey Creek Park is the way to go! There is literally something for everyone! It is located in Cornelius, off of Nantz Road. Upon entering the park, you will find a variety of parking areas, some closer or further away from the water. Any parking area you choose will be a great walk to whatever activity you want to partake in. With that in view, there is plenty of parking available at just about anytime of the day. There are multiple trails available within the park, some that loop around back to the start, and some that cross over the main road within the park putting you on connected trails on the other side. Some trails are a little bit more rugged, whereas other trails are somewhat paved and not so rugged. There are tons of grilling stations, along with bench/table seating areas, for those that wish to grill out and have a great day. Plenty of restrooms are also available. During the summer, these areas are normally packed with people, enjoying the summer fun! Additionally, Ramsey Creek Park has a boat ramp from which you can leave/return or make a pitstop from another location on the water. Ramsey Creek Park is really a great destination, a hidden gem, in the Cornelius area! When we were walking around downtown Charlotte, we came upon an area that was noticeably.....green!…read more Imagine my surprise when I did a yelp search to see if I could check in in this area, and sure enough there were several reviews for this nice little downtown park called "The Green". Kinda finding itself sandwiched between office buildings, I can see this place being a great "get away from work" lunch escape. One of the cooler features about the green, at least to me was their many mile markers that show arrows pointing to (insert city), with the approximate number of miles to get there and in what direction you can go. These little posts are littered all over the park and are impossible to ignore. There are several statues like the three large fish that kids seemed to love and the book statues as well. It's just a really nice place to find yourself on a warm and dry day. Natural shade from all of the trees, there's a large amount of landscaping around for sitting, or you can just have a seat on the well manicured grass. Not the largest park, but it is a little squirt of outdoor happiness between business as usual. There are no restrooms here, but there are trash cans about for that time when you'd like to have a snack in the shade and need to toss your food wrappers. I had no expectations for this park, and truly didn't know it existed, but because it hit the spot AND was such a nice break from all of the downtown-ness, it's easily 5 stars for me. Would I plan an entire trip to charlotte around it? Nah...it's not that kind of park. But while you're there, you will enjoy it no doubt!

I've been taking my kids to Clarks Creek since it opened. While this park does have some pluses…read morethere are minuses. The bathrooms are almost always nasty, they either don't have toilet paper or don't have paper towels to dry your hands. If it's the summer time and you're taking your kids for the splash pad, bring water shoes. The floors are disgusting. The trashes get overflown and the flies are everywhere. I don't know who thought it was a great idea to have metal slides with no shade but if it's a peak summer day, you're not gonna want your kids going down those slides, especially if they've got shorts on, their butts will get fried. Also, not sure whose idea it was to have the wooden rocking toy thing for kids because those did not last long. The handles broke after a year. When it comes to usable things for kids to play on at this park, the options are extremely limited. I would've loved to see something that kids could actually climb on and slide from that wasn't meant to be poor installation art. The main thing our kids do when we're there is swing on the only two swings climb up in the big web net thing and roll down the turf hill. The only well-kept areas in this park are the Pickleball courts and the dog park. There's definitely ample parking. There's a community garden that you can look at. If you come at the right time when the figs are ripe, you can pick them right off the tree so that's nice.

The shots are a little too close for comfort in my opinion but it's Labor Day weekend and many people came out to enjoy time with their families and friends. There's a nice walking path where you can also ride bikes. There are picnic tables and a shelter with restrooms. No volleyball nets or sand in this park but it's nice for a little getaway.

Especially the upper level of it, which has the playground. As you wind up the pathway (which is a one way street), you go higher and higher. It brings back old memories when I used to visit Paris mountain in Greenville, SC. Secoundly, picnic areas are all over the park, both in the upper and lower levels, with the biggest one overlooking the lake. And what a large and beautiful lake it is!! Lastly, there is a very well paved pathway that encircles the lake, which provides a 2 mile walk. It's great for anything from alone time to family time.
