Wish there was an additional fence between the water area and the play ground, but otherwise great!

I believe Bailey Road Park is the largest park operated by the city of Cornelius. At more than 66…read moreacres, the large disc golf course gives players plenty of room to toss those frisbees and chase after them throughout. Baseball and softball fields, batting cages, a football field, picnic shelters (reservable!) with grills, restrooms, tennis courts and even a walking track. I had a great visit here and would definitely return. [Review 17306 overall - 3293 in North Carolina - 824 of 2022.]

I giving only 1 star Evaluating on the playgrounds alone. The actual ball fields look awesome as…read moredoes the frisbee golf part. The very very bleak playground more on bailey road is seriously lame-o. The larger playground outback past the tennis courts was likely great 10 years ago but has been very badly neglected. On the up side it is "under renovations". On the downside the town chose July - sept to do the renovations. Seriously, who plans these things. Kids are off for the summer and your closing for the summer. Another bright side is if and when this place does get a facelift it looks like it'll be pretty neat AND best of all big trees line the area so it's nicely shaded. Another note - weird note- the trees that surround the playground has these trees that drop pussy droplets and then clunk - these hard lime colored and sized things start dropping. I'be only lived here a couple years and have no ideas what they are. Weird choice for landscaping by a playground. After some googling I think they are eastern black walnut trees I'll come back this fall and check the renos out and offer an update.

This is a top notch park and thank you to Hickory and the Kiwanis for your efforts. When I stopped…read moreby the playground was in full use and I had to wait for the kids to get bored of the awesome slide so that I could get a picture of it without them. On top of that, one of the baseball fields was being used for little league play and they were going all out. The park has two picnic shelters with tables and grills, a tennis court, basketball court, batting cages, restrooms, splashpad and two playgrounds. One of the playgrounds is named after Zahra Baker and I'd suggest you not go look up that name. The park is handicapped accessible including some of the rides. The four baseball fields are lighted. Parking was very limited today with lots of parents bringing their kids and hanging out. I managed to find a legal spot in front of a home on a cross street. Don't block driveways or fire hydrants! Here's a quick rundown for reference: - newish play structure -epically awesome large slide! -clean restrooms (located near the playground) -sandpit -plenty of shaded picnic areas -Baseball field and tennis court - generous amount of green, grassy area for childhood shenanigans - seasonal splash pad! There are plenty of shaded areas surrounding the park and plenty of parking spaces. This park is not local for us otherwise it would definitely be a part of our weekly park rotation. If you're nearby though and have some rambunctious kiddies, this is the place to take them.
