Ordered delivery and tried a few things from Kettleman's Bagels and overall it was a decent experience. The Chicken Salad Sandwich was really good, fresh, flavorful, made exactly to order, and probably the standout here. Also grabbed 1/4 lb each of the egg salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad, and all three were tasty. I think the Egg Salad was probably the best one and reminds me of a deviled egg. The Steak Breakfast Burrito was just ok, but it was definitely heavy on the potatoes and pretty light on the steak which was like shaved steak meat in Philly sandwiches instead of chunks of steak. I think at least half the burrito are potatoes. Still flavorful overall, just not quite balanced the way I expected. read more

Heard about the Gluten Free bagels and decided to try one. Ordered a toasted with cream cheese to go. Unfortunately 4 minutes later when I arrived at my destination I took a bite and could not even chew a piece off. It was most likely microwaved, not toasted. Kettleman's bagels are solid and flavorful. The bagels are fresh. I do wish that the amount of meat that you get with your sandwich was more consistent each time. Sometimes with my salmon bagel, I get a lot of salmon and then sometimes I don't. But I continue to order since the bagels are good. read more

A solid 3.5 stars. Got a breakfast plate with bacon. The bacon could be crispy. The potatoes were seasoned well. The steak burrito was very flavorful. Too many potatoes. I paid for double steak and there wasn't a lot. Wonder what a normal serving is? Flavorful and filling. read more

I was there early on a Sunday morning two weeks ago. I was waiting for my order at the side area where the orders get picked up and there happened to be a stepstool upside down on the counter. It was filthy. It was rotted. The legs were sticking up and they were hollow. They looked like they were bamboo and they were awful looking just filthy dirty. The woman behind me said that was disgusting. I called over one of the guys and I said can you remove this? This is where the food goes. I think it should be removed. It's filthy and he turned his back and walked away. I asked for a manager, but I don't think there were any in. I don't think I will be going back there anytime soon. read more

I was surprised to see the rating of this place to be lower than I expected only to realize that the majority of the bad reviews are from years ago. I've come here several times in the last year since my family has moved to the area and I have had no issues with their customer service! My favorite breakfast sandwich is their Sunny Honey sandwich. It has eggs, cheese, hash brown, hot honey, and crispy bacon (or pastrami). I get it on just a plain bagel and it is soooo delicious! It is also super filling too! I can't ever finish the sandwich in just one sitting. I definitely recommend trying! read more

One word: AMAZING! This was our first time eating here and boy we were blown away. The space is small but most people got take away so it was easy to snag a table for two. I ordered the Hot Honey Bagel Sandwich as I'm a sucker for anything hot honey. And my husband ordered the Steak Breakfast Burrito. I totally believe we got our monies worth. Each bagel/burrito is stacked and filled to the brim. We will definitely be back on our next venture to New Jersey! read more

Called at 1:16pm to out in an order for 1:45pm. Arrived at 1:30pm and was told my order was being worked on. Waited over 30 minutes being told it was "coming." Finally left at 2:10pm. If I hadn't paid already I would have walked out. Multiple other customer came and left in timeframe was waiting. Staff is extremely rude and only handed me order after I asked for a refund. Solid bagel shop with various options and affordable prices! Dropped by today and got a SEC Everything bagel with Hashbrowns on the side. (One order has three hashbrown pieces) Hashbrowns were solid, and the bagle was flavorful and was generous in size. My one complaint would be that the service was a bit chaotic, especially during lunch rush. You have to listen for your entire order, and the people calling out the orders were hard to hear with the hustle and bustle. I think if they assigned a number to each order it would be a little easier to keep the line moving along. Besides the ordering, the food was solid and there are definitely many other options that I want to try. Would come back again when I'm in NJ! read more

Best bagels in Somerset county, hands down. Food: their bagels are soft and chewy with the perfect crunch on the outside. They definitely don't skimp on the cream cheese, and their olive is my favorite! Ambiance: it's your typical bagel shop but there's a decent amount of seating inside. Worst customer service. I have been here many times, sometimes as a customer and sometimes as a delivery driver Tami h orders for customers. Today and many other days I have been victim of bad treatment. There is people at the store just gossiping about my appearance like if we were in the 60's. I just want to take my order and go home, I s not really hard thing to do. The store is a big mess usually with wrong orders being made to bad comments . This place is very popular. It was their Yelp reviews that made me give it a try. They are cheerful group. Love their job kind of sunshine. I was going for two bagels and walked out with 6 bagels, cream cheese, and dessert. It was the ambiance and not being pressed to buy more items. These bagels were so fresh. This place is close to my work and my company gets their bagels for us every Friday morning. 75% of the time, their bagels are pretty good; nice exterior with a soft interior. But the other 25% of the time bagels can be stale, hard, cold and overall not that great. I always opt for the everything bagel and they put the right amount of everything seasoning on it. Since for the most part I enjoyed their bagels, I figured I get a breakfast sandwich from here. I ordered the pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel over the phone on a Sunday morning. The place was pretty busy and was a bit confusing on where to stand to order or to pick up your food. I go to the register and my bagel is already ready. The breakfast had a decent amount of meat and a nice cheese pull when I pulled it apart and it tasted good. Hi My usual bagel spot had recently took a turn for the worst so I'm happy that here is much better. Might have found my new breakfast sandwich spot. read more

Went to this long established bagel place on Saturday. I've been going for years but moved away so now visit infrequently. Boy oh boy do they need a manager or the owner needs to be present. There was a line of 5 waiting to place orders. Every table had people dining in. Someone started vacuuming around us while we are standing in line. Coupled with the very loud musics playing, you couldn't hear anyone, very unpleasant. Then you order and orders were all wrong because they were "using a new system". Every single person had to wait a second time for their order. I'm sure the system will become easier to work with , but it was clear that their customer service went down hill and they couldn't care less about the client experience. I don't think I'll ever return to dine in again. Might do take out. read more

WORKERS ARE VERY RUDE !! Called at 930 am for a order that feeds 3 of us. Not only did the female employee tell my order back but an older male read the order back as well.we were told 15 mins until pick up. Get there get the food. Go home to an order that has absolutely not one thing that we ordered was in my bag but whom ever got on the phone when I called back told me that I never ordered what I did order. Decided to head over hear (longer drive than my local bagel joints) during the pandemic. Well worth the drive! Even during the pandemic, they had a wide variety of specialty bagels (not everything but most things)....our order was packed up nicely, easy pickup process upon arrival (after ordering online). Now for the important thing....the bagels tasted great! Way better than anything available in Hillsborough. Fresh high quality...even after freezing and defrosting the bagels tasted great. We'll be heading back. read more

I ordered an egg sandwich and home fries to day to be delivered. I have had many egg sandwiches here and they are always great, today's was cold, not because of Kettleman's, but because the driver got lost and my order went to Raritan, NJ and then back. It was cold. The sandwich was fairly edible, the home fries were horrible. I won't ever use Grub Hub again. I will be back to Kettleman's. I did reach out to Grub Hub and they offered me a $5.00 credit. I told them to F off. read more

Kettleman's is convenient but not worth the time wasted or the lame breakfast sandwich. I walked in at 10AM, ordered an egg + cheese on a roll (super simple order, right?) but didn't get handed my sandwich until 10:20AM. I was visibly getting frustrated when I saw about 10 people who ordered after me get their large and more complicated orders. I finally went up to pay while waiting, and they still remained unconcerned until I was the only person left in the shop. The sandwich had been ready for awhile and just placed on the side; the man at the register simply said "oh I must have walked past it". Like other reviews mention -- I don't mind waiting for a sandwich, but this disregard for a customer's time is unacceptable. What's worse is that when I finally got my sandwich, it was ICE COLD and the cheese looked like it had never been melted. Kettleman's has taken a very disappointing turn for the worse. Needless to say, I won't be back -- no matter how convenient. read more

It pains me to do this truly. I've been coming here since they opened. I even have friends who visit me from Long Island just to make a stop by Kettleman's. But the last 4-5 times I've been there my order has been wrong and prepared without care. So I'm on break from Kettlemans. July 4 was what sealed the deal. The young guy working there was just rude beyond belief - not just to me but to other customers as well. It's like he didn't want to be working on a holiday which yeah who does but you are so be friendly. For some reason when you place an order, the workers don't get your bagel then - they wait until they start your order. Of course this means that if someone comes in - even after you - and asks for bagels that don't need to be toasted or aren't sandwiches, that the bagel you ordered may be out by the time someone starts working on your order. That's what happened to us Sunday. The worst part? One of the women working told him the bagels were gone, but he waited an additional 2 minutes to tell us. So we stood there for 10-15 minutes for no reason. Like obvi these are just bagels and my life is hardly ruined. But the systems at this shop don't make sense, grumpy cashiers turn long time customers away, and careless preparation of orders is a waste of time and money. We're on hiatus until they can tighten things up. read more

So there I was on a Wednesday morning, just trying to grab a quick bagel before work. A simple dream. A humble mission. I ordered, stepped aside, and waited. The place wasn't even busy. Then I noticed the cashier holding a Q-tip. Odd, but fine. Maybe she was fixing a sign? Doing arts and crafts? Cleaning the espresso machine? Nope. She walked right over to the girl bagging the bagels and--brace yourselves--started cleaning her ear. In public. At a restaurant. Mid-shift. With customers standing there, jaws unhinged. And because one nightmare wasn't enough, she finished with her fingers. Imagine watching your breakfast being prepped while someone casually moonlights as an ENT doctor. I didn't know whether to laugh, gag, or call an exorcist. At that moment, the cook caught my face--a mix of horror and despair--and we locked eyes like two people who had just watched Bigfoot order a latte. Then came the finale. The cashier, Q-tip still in hand like a badge of honor, asked if I wanted my order. Me: "No, I want a refund." Her: "Why?" Me: "Because you just cleaned that girl's ear at a restaurant." Her defense? "But I used a Q-tip." And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I lost my appetite for bagels. read more

The restaurant is cozy so if you have a big party make reservations. But you won't be disappointed I can't wait to visit Brunch by De Martino again whenever I come back to New Jersey . I live locally and frequent quite often for breakfast. Bagels are best in the immediate area but the service can be horriffic at times. Warning: For breakfast sandwiches, if you like your eggs cooked a certian way (over easy on a roll) Forget it! you will get your order filled anyhow the cook feels like making it. Trust me on this. One could suggest a language barrier the blame? Staff has no problem understanding how to make change at the register tho. For that there is never a problem. Could be the combination of staff varies from day to day but the arrogance of attitude is constant unless the owner is there. He is a nice guy. What i have learned is this: If the line is more than 4 deep and the cook has more than two egg sandwich orders going at the same time, i suggest skipping the breakfast sandwich idea and opt for a bagel instead. I have been disappointed so many times in the past when getting to work only to unwarap the product to disappointment. If you crave a good bacon, egg and cheese go to Somerset Diner or Pronto Deli on Cedar Grove. if you have no problem paying $5.bucks for a product your not happy with, be my guest. Well versed in customer service, the man had become more patient over his years, now aged 52. As a neurodiverse dad of an autistic adult son, he endeavored to be more empathic of people, events and happenings. On an unusually warm January day he drove to a local bagel shop. As a new resident of Manville he thought it would be nice to frequent a local small business + his tummy was rumbling! Walking in with a face mask, he thinks "this looks okay, must have good bagels" - one doesn't think much about service at all - as the mouth salivates gazing at a giant photo of a deli standard: egg and cheese on bagel. The masked man had seen many such signs over his years - especially having worked in NYC over a decade. The shop was populated by few customers, some having coffee, discussing politics "democrats are better organized than we (republicans) are" this on morning for 1st time in a century the US House of Representatives were unable to elect a House Speaker on day one of a new session. The man walked towards the big "ORDER HERE" sign, with only one customer ahead of him at 915am it was a short wait - the masked man placed his order with another masked man - the deli guy - for 1 plain croissant, 1 egg and cheese on croissant, and 1 bottled drink placed on the counter. The deli man seemed confused so the order was stated clearly again : 1 plain croissant, 1 egg and cheese on croissant, and 1 bottled drink. Alongside standard sodas the fridge held fruity veg drinks which looked not only delicious but maybe healthy. The mango carrot juice caught the man's widened eyes, after all he had never seen this specific brand in such a homestyle labeled bottle - he decided to give it a try. It's usually fine to get a taste of things one hasn't tried, after all. The order was placed - written down onto a pad by the deli man. The man who taught yoga had once been a waiter / server so was well acquainted with systems of retail order taking - passing the order slip on to the kitchen / cashier for food prep / payment, trusting in the process. After placing his order he proceeded to the register clerk - also masked - he assumed that the prior written order - now in the cashier's hand - with be clear - so the cashier must know exactly what was ordered. Note test the cashier spoke Super Fast - so let's just call her The Fast Talker. The Fast Talker proffered coffee, the man accepted, payment was made, but no receipt offered, and after pouring his own coffee into the cup provided, the man sat down at one of many available clean empty tables. Within 3min he received 2 bags and sat back down to enjoy a sandwich. Suddenly The Fast Talker called loudly, "Sir! Sir! You got a drink! You didn't tell me you got a drink!" He walked back to her where The Fast Talker shook her head saying "you didn't tell me" several more times. He said quietly "OK I thought I paid for it - how much?" The Fast Talker continued shaking her head, so the now tired man decided to release his drink curiosity to avoid a continued unpleasant interaction - beginning to feel it offensive. He returned to his table, opened 2 bags finding 1 egg and cheese sandwich - and 3 croissants (not 1). The man had conscience and stood up to return what he'd erroneously received. He walked up to The Fast Talker and said "excuse me, I ordered 1 plain croissant, 1 egg and cheese sandwich, and in my bags are 3 croissants and 1 egg and cheese sandwich." The Fast Talker looked into both bags, kept 2 croissant and returned 1 - it was not clear if the croissant were passed on to another customer, or discarded. The man decided to leave after this experience to eat in his car - after taking a few steps outside The Fast Talker opened the shop door "Sir! Sir! You ordered coffee!? You didn't pay!" The surprised man turned around said "I did" but followed her back indoors anyway. Once inside, he said "Miss I ordered 1 plain croissant, 1 egg and cheese sandwich, and when you asked if I'd like coffee I said YES - you then gave me a cup - I used the cup to serve myself coffee. Please check your receipt?" The Fast Talker looked at the receipt tally - then said 'happy new year' looking deflated. Back inside his car the man ate an unimpressive meal: egg simply edible, now cool not hot, cheese not entirely melted, seemed like a slice from a grocery store packet perhaps. The croissant was well toasted but just average, not exceptional. This story brought to you by someone who does not usually leave reviews, yet has decided that leaving constructive, imaginative reviews in prose could make the service world a better place. For me it's difficult to give any business '1 star' because as a business owner, I appreciate the importance of customer reviews. So this review gets 2 stars instead out of empathy.

The shop itself is a classic bagel store, there's plenty of seating and a huge counter with a variety of bagels and cream cheeses. The service is also very quick and the staff is super helpful and friendly! It was nice chatting with the lady that helped me out today. My only qualm is the cream cheese. I don't love their cream cheese, so I end up just getting a plain bagel and then putting my own cream cheese on it. That's the one thing I wish was different, otherwise it's an awesome spot!

Every time I've gone there, the sandwich has been excellent. If I decide to order bagels, their bagels are always great. The bagel for my lox sandwich is always soft and tasty, there is plenty of lox, they never forget the tomato, and they always put the right amount of cream cheese. If you want to stay to eat, there are plenty of tables inside, and they keep the store very clean. The people there are all very nice, too. The only thing I could ask for is a slightly lower price since I never get the chips and drink that go with the sandwich. But their bagels and the sandwich I get are always very good. I go to bagel stores for my lox sandwich wherever I go, and Bagel Junction is one of the best!!!

It feels like theyre using water to cook it, either that or a ridiculous amount of low quality oil, definitely NOT using real butter. U might as well dip the egg in a glass of water and put it on the sandwich. I used to love this place under the prior ownership, since owners have switched it has gone downhill. The order has been frequently messed up as well. it is impossible for me and my family to genuinely enjoy a breakfast sandwich from here anymore. Only reason im not leaving 1 star is because their bagels are alright. And ill just leave this here too- 1. Crack egg into bowl 2. Add a splash of milk 3. Whisk until well combined 4. Heat butter on pan until melted 5. Throw the egg mixture in, stir and cook on med-low until all the liquid is solidified. When someone here learns how to properly make an egg, I'll update my review.
