We came here for a quick lunch. Parking is plentiful. Watching them make bagels is always a fun experience and the smell is intoxicating. The stars are definitely the bagels here. Nice, faint crunch on the exterior, soft interior with still some bite to make it a delicious bagel. We enjoyed the classic kettlemen bagel sandwich which had smooth cream cheese, salty capers and rich and fatty smoked salmon. Everything worked really well with the fresh bagel. 5/5. We also tried the oven roasted chicken bagel sandwich. The chicken was okay, it works as a sandwich but not my favorite. 4/5 but the bagel carries this. Price is not bad for lunch meal. read more

I think Kettlemans makes a fantastic bagel. You really cannot beat their warm sesame bagels and their cream cheese. I do frequent this location from time to time and the building does need some maintenance and a good deep clean. This location is probably the second busiest location that I have ventured into, aside from Bank street. The interior is starting to show some wear and tear. The last time that I was here, which was early December of this year, the whole entrance, leading up the cash was a puddle. They had a fan next to the cash/display case to try and air out the restaurant. There was dried splatter on most of the art on the wall. Bathrooms were lacking hand soap and not clean. The restaurant did not feel clean. Service was friendly, ,bagel was fine. They have added some new items to the menu, like tater tots, which were really hard, burnt and just not good. They also reduced the size of the pickles that they serve with the bagels to a sliver. Its quiet humorous. It used to be a quarter of a pickle (Take a look at my past photos that I uploaded). If you are in the area, and craving a bagel, they do make some of the best in the city, but best to grab them and bring them home. read more

Love this place! They've got so many options for everyone. The bagels are made fresh in house and come in a variety of flavours as well as the cream cheese. You can even buy the speciality cream cheese in big boxes and take it to go! I enjoy coming here and getting the vegetarian sandwich using the fresh bagels. I got the veggie one which includes marinated eggplant, Swiss cheese tomatoe and lettuce. After having shopped at a bunch of stores, I decided to drive the remaining parts of the Trainyards that I hadn't visited and noticed this Kettleman's Bagel location. I had a birthday reward to redeem and decided to check this location out. I had only been to a single Kettleman's before this visit. I learned on this trip that I had stopped by its store in The Glebe nearly four years ago. I can now say that I have stopped by two locations. I had a wonderful, patient person at the counter. I indicated that I had a birthday reward to use. I asked her what I could get. I was thinking that I could get a bagel with cream cheese. Guess what? The reward is even better. She said that I could get a dozen bagels. Are you kidding me?! After containing my excitement, I opted for six garlic bagels and six sesame ones. The woman scanned my phone to redeem my reward. Done! I also wanted the bagel dog for lunch. I paid and then had my rewards card scanned on my phone. This place takes cash and debit cards. Yay! There is also an ATM in the store. I waited patiently for my food. I got a buzzer, which was nice. I watched staff make bagels, which was cool. The buzzer went off in my hand. I got my food and found a table to sit down at. The bagel dog is a pretty good size. It had sesame seeds all over, which is perfect for me and Big Bird, should he ever stop by. The bagel dog was yummy! It combines my love for a hot dog and a bagel all in one convenient hold-it-with-one-hand product. Yum! As with my past experience at Kettleman's, you can get baked goods, such as bars and tarts, spreads and lox for your bagels, and drinks. This location is bright and cheerful. I had a chat with an older female customer at this eatery, who was friendly and sweet. Customers were talking with others, which I liked. I grabbed some lunch here recently and it was great. I had the ham and cheese sandwich on a cheddar and herb bagel (a bit over $6) and added a fountain drink for an additional $1. They don't skimp on the protein. There was lots of ham in my sandwich, as well as a slice of Swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and pesto mayo. You also get half a pickle with your sandwich. I love Montreal style bagels, like the bagels are at Kettlemans. They are denser and less cake-like than New York style bagels. Makes me miss Fairmount Bagels and St. Viateur Bagels! The cheddar and herb bagel was very flavourful and delicious. They have that new touch screen fountain drink dispenser. I love this because I find regular pop too sweet, so I just fill most of my cup with sparkling water and just add a splash of regular pop. The place is spacious and clean. Staff are very nice. They give you a pager and when your sandwich is ready it flashes, buzzes, and vibrates and you go to the counter and get your sandwich. This location is in the Trainyards Shopping Complex. If you want to overpay for a bagel go to Kettleman's. If you want to wait 10 to 15 minutes for your order then this is the place to be. However if you want a chopped liver bagel in Ottawa then Kettleman's is the place. WAIT they discontinued the chopped liver. So no reason to go to any of their outlets. Their bagels are the same as the ones you can get in many places and usually less expensive. Nothing more to say - except there goes another customer out the door and never to return. With the significant other out of town for Valentine's Day, I wanted to treat myself to something. At first I wanted something spicy, then I wanted some ramen and the cravings were just all over the place. Then, I came to the realization that I really wanted a nice chewy bagel... A few weeks ago I went to the bank street location and got half a dozen bagels and could not stop eating them. So on Vday, I couldn't resist. I've never gone to the Trainyards location and it wasn't far from me, so there I went. It's a very big location with plenty of seating available. The smell is mesmerizing.. how could you not want to smell fresh bagels all day? I came here with the sole purpose of getting a tuna salad on an all-seasoned bagel, but obviously left with 6 more bagels. The tuna was absolutely delicious. It had the amount of spice I wanted and they added lettuce and onions for me on top of the pre-set tomato that comes with a tuna sandwich. They also give you a pickle on top to enjoy. I ate that bagel with so much love. I got home...smelled the fresh bagels in the bag...and obviously toasted one and had it with their light cream cheese. I probably could have eaten another one, but I exercised my self-control that day. I definitely recommend kettleman's bagels. They aren't like the typical fluffy ones that I'm used to from Toronto. Melt in your mouth bagels! You will know by now, if you follow my reviews, that I compare all food to my days in NYC. As a NYer, bien and raised, i have very high expectations for food. Kettleman's bagels wins the prize. I had an everything bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese. WOW!!! The cream cheese was creamy and delicious, with just the right hint of salmon. The bagel was extra toasted and soft. Every bite literally melts in your mouth as you bite. I highly recommend you never get your morning bagels anywhere else. Or your afternoon bagels for that matter ! Hahaha The service is quick, the atmosphere is spacious. Plus, you get to watch them make bagels as you eat. This place is amazing. All I wanted to do was watch the bagel makers at work cutting the dough and cooking it in a giant oven (I have a great photo of it). I had the breakfast bagel with bacon and chose a garlic bagel. Mmmmm. The bagel was chewy in just the right way. I ordered the oven roasted chicken sandwich and the chicken seemed to be a bunch of thigh meat full of gristle instead of a chicken breast cutlet. The sweet red Peppers seemed to be hot peppers. I've had this sandwich before but this time it was disgusting not sure what happened and super unhappy. I pretty much peeled the bagel off to eat plain. read more

Haven't had the bagels but both people I was with did, they had the breakfast and then the turkey bagels and loved it. I had the Kettleman's salad and loved that. Lots of room to sit and pretty quick to get our food. Came again a second time to visit. Got the turkey on garlic bagel and my husband got the veggie on a plain bagel and we tried the pizza bagels. Those are wrapped in the fridge but they'll warm for you. All three were great! read more

I am a fan of Kettleman's bagels and I'm pretty happy they opened a 24/7 place in my end of town! :) NOTE: Cash or Debit only. When I was there last they were trying out the apple pay, so it might be up and running by now. Love the food here. Bagel sandwiches are super yummy and they have a wide variety fixings. All day breakfast bagel options as well. Bagels come with an optional pickle as well--it's good, if you like pickles, get it. This location has the open kitchen so you can watch the bagels being made. It also has the mini-market where you can buy cream cheese and spreads and other things. Only thing I would change is to add recycling bins. read more

Very much happy that they opened this train yards location. It is open 24/7! I love the space. During summer time, this place is freezing with AC lol yikes...food menu makes up for it though. Big, bright lots of seating and smells amazing. First time being to Kettleman's and I'll be back. Nothing beats fresh bagels and fresh cream cheese. If I had an Achilles heel it would be for Kettleman's Bagels. Staff were very friendly and when I ordered a half dozen the cashier threw in an extra bagel because one of the bagels I asked for was slightly squished (there were only 2 left I took the last 2) so she gave me an extra everything bagel, great customer service. Open 24/7 so if I'm craving a damn good bagel or sandwich at 3am I know where to go. Lots of parking available! read more

I love/hate that this location opened up right next to the gym I go to in the mornings so when I needed to pick up some breakfast they were an obvious choice. I had no idea Kettleman's bagels were open 24 hours, so that made it an even better choice because I go to the gym fairly early. It is pretty obvious the place is open because of all the lights in the windows. They are in a bit of an awkward spot at trainyards kind of hidden but they are in the back corner by the farmboy/lcbo entrance. Upon entering the place is very well laid out and the staff were super friendly to greet me. I had planned on getting a breakfast sandwich but the packs of day old bagels screamed at me so instead I walked out with 15 bagels and some cream cheese. They even give you freezer bags with them now, which is an awesome touch. I have the app because it gives you 6 free bagels when you first join (although the app likes to tell you you're already a member - just forget that and keep on going - it did that for myself and 3 of my coworkers) and it gives you a free dozen bagels on your birthday - so I will definitely be returning to this location in a few weeks when that comes up. You can pay credit card if you pay through the app, otherwise it is just debit or cash. I will definitely be returning to this location - I saw they have lemon cranberry bagels which sounds really good. read more

I was visiting family during Christmas and we tried Kettleman's bagels. We loved them and very jealous that there not in Toronto. We're waiting for that to happen soon?? I went to the train yards location to purchase some bagels for home. We decided to have lunch there. I had the Roast Pork with tzatziki sauce on a garlic bagel!! So tasty.
