I came for the sundae, but they didn't have it when I went. I settled for a hojicha latte and matcha ganache tart, and both were so good. The hojicha latte was made so well. It was a perfect amount of milk to tea, and the amount of milk foam on top was delicious. It wasn't too gritty either. Because it wasn't sweet, it paired nicely with the ganache tart. The chocolate in the tart was so smooth, and the matcha shown through. There was matcha powder dusted over the top, but it didn't need to be there because the matcha flavor was so evident in the dessert. The matcha powder was a bonus. The cream provided a softer texture to the tart, and it was also amazing. It was creamy, and it just melted. We stopped by here on a friend's recommendation, and were not disappointed at all. When you step in, you immediately understand that this is a true matcha spot. Their menu has varying tiers of matcha that you can have, and it's quite a condensed menu focusing on matcha itself, without many fancy mixed drinks. There's not too much seating inside, but it's laid out quite beautifully. We got a matcha and a soba latte. Both were unsweetened (and I'm not sure you can get them sweetened), which I was pleasantly surprised by! The matcha latte was super rich and creamy, with a strong strong matcha flavor. Not hidden behind any sweeteners or other flavors. The soba latte was super interesting and my first time trying it. Tried their hojicha latte and that was probably the best hojicha latte that I have ever tried! The tea quality was very high and I like how they have a few vegan milk options, including a homemade coconut milk. Even though I wanted to try the coconut milk, I picked oat milk since the coconut flavor from coconut milk might overshadow the tea itself. I don't think the drink was sweetened but there was some natural sweetness coming from the oat milk, which complemented the tea very well. Heard great things about Kettl from their other location, so I was intrigued by their matcha. But we mainly came for the parfait though. The place was simplistic, with a big communal table in the middle and bar seating at the back. Make sure you're dining in if you're ordering the parfait. Of course, I had to try the Matcha Latte ($6) with Oat Milk. The drink was tiny and gives me further reason to believe why ordering coffee outside is a scam. They did not even fill it to the brim. I didn't notice anything particular about the matcha flavor, but I didn't find it bitter like my friends did, which was great. The creaminess of the oat definitely upped the taste. The Kettl Parfait ($15) was expensive for the portion size, yet again. But I still enjoyed it! It was pretty sweet, but the rich matcha ice cream helped mask the abundant cream, hard sugar cube, cookies, and whatever else was in this. The mochi tasted so fresh! To make up for the long wait on the parfait, the workers were so kind to gift us a cookie. The Hojicha Butter Cookie ($5) was so fun! I could definitely taste the roasted taste, but it was subtle and blended with the butter. And for curious reasons, we of course had to try their Soba Crunch Cookie ($5)! Part of me was hoping for a pleasant surprise, but eh, it tasted exactly like the name suggests: crunchy! Not sure what soba tastes like, but the butter taste was still strongly evident in this cookie as well. Although very very expensive, I enjoyed sampling a lot of their menu options. A cool place to relax for those curious to try matcha or matcha/tea enthusiasts It was surprisingly louder than expected like a typical coffee shop ambience which suits me and my friends who liked to talk freely at varying volumes. We came here for the parfait but ended up ordering additional items to test. First came the matcha latte, which I personally found has a strong matcha bitter taste then its watered down at the end? I didn't enjoy it much but good for the friend who enjoyed it all and insisted the oat milk gave creaminess to the drink. They forgot to make our parfait so we got a free hojicha cookie for waiting. It was sweet and had the roasted tea flavor which is what hojicha is. The matcha latte complimented the cookie very well. The soba cookie was not as good is all I can say; it's almost like a sugar cookie. I ordered the Miyabi sencha to try and I'm not well-versed in tea but the intense aroma and clear finish was there. The parfait overall was alright. I think it would be better off just getting the matcha soft serve because all the additional toppings of cookies, mochi, jellies and whip cream was to sweeten the bitterness of the matcha ice cream. There is a restroom at the back of the store. Not much seating inside but there is outdoor seating too. This place is Japanese tea heaven! I've been to Uji, Kyoto and had some Matcha/gyokuro there and I kid you not, the quality of the tea in this shop is not in any way inferior. Of course they are really particular about where they source their tea. The also used the traditional technique to brew the tea with precision. The matcha (Shinme matcha) I had was really round, sweet, skily, nutty and umami and super delicious. It was a really eye opening experience for me. The hojicha that came with butter buckwheat cookie was rick and nutty, very delicious. The decor was beautiful and the staff was super friendly. I had so many questions about how to make tea and which tea pot I should get for myself and they patiently explain everything to me in details. 5 stars - A must go! read more

Of course, I'll be returning for a tea tasting but for today, I needed to satisfy my need for more matcha chocolate. Rich, velvety & full of matcha filled each bite and I wanted to buy some to share. Came here on 8/27/22 and ordered a sparkling matcha for $6.53 after tax before tip. This is a cute little spot with lots of matcha-related items inside. I dropped in for a quick drink on a hot day and didn't stay too long - even though the drink was made from scratch, service was quick and I was in and out in maybe 3 minutes. There's a bar in the back that was full (maybe it was a class or something? The bartender was doing a lot of talking) as well as a table in the middle with seating, looked like plenty of seating even for a small spot. The drink itself was great - extremely carbonated water with freshly made matcha. Definitely nice and cold on a hot day - not a weird lukewarm that might come from just adding boiling matcha to cold seltzer and ice. There is a slight silty-ness from the real matcha powder, really neat with the carbonation. Staff was super polite, friendly, and informative. I loved their interior decor and their unique delicate ceramics. I ordered their Set B: genmaimatcha and matcha parfait. The tea was perfection and parfait was also really good. I do wish the mochi was a bit softer and the parfait had less graham crackers but other than that it was a great balance of cream and matcha ice cream. They offered to steep my tea for a second batch but alas I had run out of time and feared I would be late for my dinner plans! Every time I come here, I alternate between their matcha latte and hojicha latte, which are both so so so tasty. They sell a variety of matcha powder too, if you're looking to make matcha at home (which I also do), as well as some really cute ceramics (and other knickknacks).
