The best food truck around! The salads are amazing and his truck fries are top tier! Super fast service too!

I've tried his food a few times now and it is always tasty! He has a spot downtown, but I love when I show up to events and see his truck!

I had a chicken Tex Mex salad (not sure if it is a standard item). We ate at their table in the parking lot with their sweet lab. The salad was fresh and delicious! Portion was ample, I would order the dressing on the side next time so I can take 1/2 home for later. Unfortunately I was in Shelton recently on a Thursday, and we weren't able to find the truck. Normally I'd be offput trying to find a business, but their food is worth the hunt. Kerns will be my go to for lunch when I'm in Shelton. Their food is so good, I'll make sure my trips will fall within their limited hours just so I can try additional items on their menu! read more

The sandwiches are really good. The Truck Fries are very plain and the herbs and seasonings don't stay on the fries. I thought they forgot the seasoning and herbs until I got to the bottom and see a pile of garlic and herbs under the fries. If that was on the fries it would step it up notch, but I can see what they were going for...maybe toss the fries with the seasonings? It looks like they changed the fries since the photos on facebook. I was looking forward to the Tempura Mac & Cheese because I've never had good fried mac & cheese, but there was no chorizo or green chili flavor from what I could taste, and very little cheese flavor. Tasted almost like plain pasta that was deep fried and too salty so I wouldn't get that again. The sandwiches are good, but the Truck Fries and Mac & Cheese need some work. read more

Steak Tenderloin Sandwich was AMAZING! Perfectly seasoned, grilled onions, nice and cheesy, & the toasted bun gave it the perfect texture to munch on. Wow! Also had the Black and Blue Steak Salad Special. It was excellent. Artichoke hearts and roasted garlic just MADE it! Steak was perfectly grilled and with the blue cheese crumbles it was a flavor packed meal. Just Wow! The truck usually sits at 7th and Railroad in Shelton, WA from 11:30 to 1:30 Mon-Fri. This is by far my favorite place in Shelton. You'd do well to try anything on the menu at Kern's Kitchen. I think I have tried most of the dishes and have yet to be disappointed. Kern's lemon drop prawns is my new favorite dish, his chicken parmesan soup is amazing, and the truck fries! Everything I have eaten here has had such good flavors and he has a way with sauces, his tartar sauce is delicious! I could go on and on...but you get the point. The service is as good as the food, Kern is great; honest, friendly and quick with a joke or a smile. I recommend Kern's Kitchen to everyone! read more

Always delicious and very friendly. He runs 1 or 2 specials every week and his Truck Fries are worth every penny. I would love to see Kern open a brick-n-mortar restaurant. The economy is better and there are better locations available now as well. Stop in and give this Gourmet Food truck a try, you won't regret it.
