It kind of reminds me of a candy store you might find in a resort/tourist town like Pensacola Beach or Gatlinburg: fudge, popcorn, candy apples, lots of different kinds of confections. A bell rang as I walked in and someone came out to serve me right away. He was pleasant and eager to share with me all about their products. He offered me samples of all the popcorn and fudge and also told me about their loyalty program and their monthly drawings. One thing I really liked was they had a lot of popular treats (turtles, chocolate covered graham crackers, chocolate covered Oreos, etc) each available in all the different varieties of chocolate (i.e. milk, dark, and white chocolate). They also have turtles made with cashews, as well as the traditional pecan. I got a dark chocolate cashew turtle for my mom, a regular milk chocolate pecan turtle for me, milk chocolate covered graham crackers for my husband, and a bag of cheddar cheese popcorn. I don't remember the total off the top of my head, but I do remember feeling it was a touch on the pricy side. Each item was wrapped nicely. Mom enjoyed her treat and so did husband. He was nice enough to give me one of the graham crackers and it was very good! Nice ratio of chocolate to graham and the chocolate was super nice and creamy. I still haven't gotten around to my chocolate but I imagine it will be similarly tasty. Haven't yet met a turtle I didn't like. The cheddar popcorn was just alright. I thought the cheese flavor was a little too artificial for my preferences, and some of the popcorn was a tiny bit stale, though none of it was unpleasant enough to keep me from eating it, lol. Just nit picking. Overall, this is a nice little shop with lovely service and especially good chocolates. Give them a try if you're passing through!

If you go to the left as you first enter near Pofta Buna, keep walking through the connector hallway and after Happy Tummy, then hang another left like you're headed to Cattyshack, you'll find it! The woman running the shop was so polite and personable. She was ready to answer any and all of my questions. She also let me try a little sample of two of the products I was interested in - they were both delicious, by the way. They have homemade gourmet pastas in multiple flavors, nice olive oil, fancy cheeses, beautifully decorated cake balls, crepe mixes, cute little kitchen goodies (tea towels, etc) and more. I wound up going home with some coffee infused almond butter (a little thin, but you can definitely taste the coffee and it's delicious), a vanilla bourbon caramel sauce (perfect for ice cream or drizzling on other treats), and some lavender Earl Grey cake balls. I decided to take an Easter baking class. The owner Abbe greeted us with an delicious complimentary spread of peach bellinis, tea, scones, lemon curd, and more, which was such a thoughtful touch. The actual course was engaging, fun, and very well structured (and her support staff were also super nice and helpful!) The community is lucky to have such a special small business around - whether for a date night, family/friend activity, or solo outing, I highly recommend checking them out.

I will update this review with an even cuter photo of you on my next visit, promise! Okay....now that's out of the way lol. I saw on Facebook that Peterbrooke Chocolatier is having their grand opening today, so I had to go check it out. Boy, am I glad I did! They had samples galore due to the grand opening and I got to try several of their yummy selections, including chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered pineapple, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered rice krispie treats, etc. While they will not have the same variety of samples on the future outside of the grand opening event, I was told that they will always have a plate of samples out close to the register! They have milk chocolate and dark chocolate for sure....and I am sure white chocolate but I didn't pay attention to that since I am not a white chocolate kind of gal. I can honestly say their milk chocolate is quality stuff. You can definitely tell the difference, no cheap imitation here! Also, they have gelato available in the store.....I want to say at least 10 flavors? I forgot to get an exact count, but they look delicious. Also, and this is a big one for me, they have chocolate caramel green apples. Yes, they do! So there is only one other store in Birmingham that I know of with chocolate caramel apples....but it's no good as the chocolate the other store uses is just not up to par and leaves a funny taste. I eat a lot of chocolate caramel apples and currently I mail-order them as I expect them to be of certain quality. However, I am really excited to try Peterbrooke's chocolate caramel apple next time I make my way there as I already know they have quality chocolate from the samples today! It would be fantastic if I can find a local store with awesome chocolate caramel apples! I decided to call the local store to confirm they would accept the GC and the sweetest lady went above & beyond to help me place an order through the store's register. She sent me a screen shot for confirmation and mailed the GC that day, to family. They were so surprised & pleased! Apparently the online e-Gift Cards can only be used for ONLINE purchases.
