Going Downhill ATM I…read morehave been a long time customer here the last 20 years and my last visit was so disappointing. 6 of the 8 bread plates we received were dirty. 2 of the dinner dishes we were given had dried spicy mustard stick to them when neither dish involved spicy mustard. The outdoor tables need repair or replacement. They are getting so loose and wobbly any small movement from anyone at our table caused our drinks to slosh and spill, which then dropped through the tablecloth and onto my pants leg. My hubands chair had a metal backrest bar broken off with a sharp spike left that cut his finger when he went to sit down. They need a welder to maintenance these asap. And the food. I always go for plain Weiner Schnitzel. Always. So I do know what to expect plain wienerschnitzel to taste like. And usually it is so good that I tear up a little as I eat in pure bliss, and I keep eating till I hurt my gut and have to loosen my belt. This time is was just meh. It wasn't actively bad, it wasn't bad meat or fried in oil that had gone bad, but it had none of its normal flavor, just lacking in any flavor. Something key was missing but I couldn't tell you what it was, maybe the kitchen was so busy they forgot to season mine? Cause that's how it felt like to eat. And normally the crust does a pretty good job of staying with each bite but it wouldn't holding together at all. More like panko than what I know their schnitzel should be like. The cucumber salad and potatoe salad were good. The red cabbage all exactly as I expected. But it just can't be a good review when your meat your main dish kind of gave the impression of cardboard. Pretend food. I didn't even want to eat the leftovers I brought home, we gave them to the dogs. I turned down trying three different brand new restaurants because I realized the store we were going to was close to ol Heidelberg, But I don't think I will choose it the next time we're on that side of town. Which is sad. I hope they fix their problems with the dishwashing staff and that the kitchen regains its consistency, and they find someone to patch up their tables out front.

After going to the farmer's market, we decided to stop by to pick up some breakfast at Edgar's…read more This is a chain restaurant. Walking inside on Saturday around 8:15, there weren't many customers. I walked up to the counter and ordered Dave the All American Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar biscuit and potatoes. I ordered the Southwest Omelette with sausage, green peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and a side of potatoes and toast. All American. Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar biscuit, and potatoes was Dave's order. The cheddar biscuit was nearly the size of my hand. Easily 2.5 times larger than average biscuits. My former manager, Jimmy Randolph, told me years ago that his mother made cat head biscuits. The biscuit was at least the size of a cat's head. The cheddar biscuit was delicious. Dave said everything about his order except the potatoes was ok. He is a simple man who does not want green peppers, onions or anything else cooked with his potatoes. As soon as he saw the add ons to his side of potatoes, he had a grumpy look. He refused to eat said add ons. He said he wouldn't order a side of potatoes again. 3/5 My Southwest Omelette and potatoes was average. The omelette was cooked too much. It was dry. There wasn't enough cheese in my humble opinion. The potatoes were ok. The potatoes were boiled with no crisp edges. I prefer crispy potatoes. I did eat the add ons. They were flavorful. 3/5 The menu lists breakfast potatoes. No description of additional bell peppers and onions added. I bought a few petit fours. Two vanilla and two chocolate for $8. They were beautifully decorated and tasted good. They were not the best I have had but not the worst. 4/5 I will return to Edgar's. They have many bakery items to select from. If you have a need for a fast birthday cake or any dessert, they have it. Please stop by and try their desserts. You will enjoy them. 4/5

I gave this business one star because they dont have a zero star option:…read more I decided I wanted to get an assortment of cupcakes to put in my wifes Easter basket. The young person (woman) decided to help me, she was silent (didnt speak a courteous word.) I was asking about the Easter cupcakes, she simply demanded "which ones do you want". She then proceeded to put the selected cupcakes in a carry out vessel and crushed the lovely icing into the top of the clamshell. She never even slowed down to see what she did. She then went away for several minutes while I was trying to checkout without cupcakes. Once the first (helper???) actually brought the cupcakes the checkout person turned them on their side. This causes the icing to just slide off of the top of their respective cupcakes. So basically, Edgar ruined my wifes Easter surprise. I won't visit this business ag!

They close at 2pm. We ordered two tacos, Alambres and pollo. We ordered a birria quesadilla and a Asada torta. Our foods tasted good with heat. Neither one of us imagined that we would be sweating after eating our lunch as the only thing that would be hot/spicy would be the chorizo in the Alambres. This restaurant is for people with a high tolerance to red peppers and jalapeños. I watched the food being prepared that I could see. Employees were not wearing gloves while preparing tacos and quesadillas. I couldn't see around the corner if clean hands were preparing the rest of the food. If you have a tolerance for heat, please stop by and try their food. We were treated very well and everyone was nice. If the food wasn't so hot, we would make the trek back to try their Carne Asada.

This place is LEGIT!!…read more My mother-in-law works in Meridianville and I needed to go see her early this morning. I'm not usually this far north of town, especially during the morning, but I've heard really good things about this place and so when I found myself in the area, I knew I had to stop by. This is a small Mexican restaurant inside the Liberty 2000 gas station immediately off of 231. The signage is fairly discreet when looking from the road, but trust that it is there! Parking is ample. It's a tiny little spot but there are about three small tables tucked in near the kitchen, and of course you can take your food to go, too. Two women were busy cooking this morning while a nice man took my order. Everyone was very pleasant and the gentleman was absolutely on top of everything; a few people were waiting for breakfast before me and the moment they left he was in action cleaning their tables. As I walked out, I spied him sweeping, too. Very clean establishment. For what it's worth, I had no trouble ordering in English, though portions of some of the menus are in both Spanish and English. They definitely serve breakfast and lunch -- I didn't catch if they're open for dinner, but they might be. At breakfast, they have a bunch of different breakfast burritos, larger entree plates like huevos rancheros or omelets, tortas, tamales, and fresh juices and smoothies. I placed an order for a potato and egg breakfast burrito. I also ordered a Coke, but I was instructed to buy that through the gas station. I was able to pay for both my meal from El Buen Sabor and my drink at the primary register for the gas station. My order was made quickly and came out hot but not inedibly so, which was great because I couldn't wait. I took it to go and sat in my car just cause I prefer to be alone while stuffing my face if possible, lol. My burrito was $5.80, was large, stuffed with goodness, and came with a cup of salsa verde for dipping. A neat stack of napkins was thoughtfully included in my to-go bag. I know it sounds simple, and it was, but MAN if this wasn't an amazing breakfast burrito. Pretty sure breakfast burritos may be one of my new favorite things if I could just get them this good all the time. I'm almost positive the flour tortilla was homemade -- none of that gluey texture you get with store-bought flour tortillas. It was soft and slightly chewy and delicious. The potatoes were very faintly spicy -- I spied a few pieces of red and green peppers/chilies throughout my burrito -- and ample. The eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly and the ratio of egg to potato was right on point. The salsa verde was bright, punchy, and the perfect amount of spicy. Just enough to add good flavor but my nose wasn't running or anything. :) And there was just enough to dip almost every perfect bite of burrito! While I hate that I'm not in this neck of the woods too often, you can trust that any time I'm in the neighborhood, I'll be back for more deliciousness. Honestly, even if you're not in the area, I think it's worth the drive if you're craving this kind of food. Thanks for making my morning spectacular! :)
