I have been putting off writing a review for this business for nearly a year, because thinking…read moreabout my experience makes me angry and I don't want to write from a place of anger. But shoot, after a year and multiple opportunities to make it right, I'll pick up the Yelp flag in hopes that I can save another unsuspecting customer time, money, and frustration: AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS.
My experience with Premier Lock was as a corporate client, needing a building to be re-keyed - a job that included both interior and exterior doors as well as cabinet locks. From a contractor standpoint, this was a slam dunk job, a few easy bucks. From a project management standpoint, however, it failed in nearly every capacity that Premier Lock functioned as a service provider.
COMMUNICATION. After initial talks about the job, I mysteriously stopped hearing from Alfred right around the time the work was to be done. He never seemed to be able to schedule more than a couple days out, and frequently missed appointments. The day the work was to be done, his son showed up and needed to be talked through the entire project FROM THE BEGINNING to understand what he needed to do. He left the job half-finished, and it was pulling teeth trying to get an answer as to when this supposedly one-day job would finish. At some point he stopped communicating with me altogether and began coordinating through a male colleague of mine. After he left the job botched, he ignored my attempts to contact him to resolve the issue (and yet, somehow his invoice still showed up in our AP group!).
INCOMPETENCE. I can forgive some professional rough edges, including some disrespect, if I can at least trust that the person is a competent technician who can execute the agreed-upon work. This job was left with holes bored in the wrong spots in cabinetry, door handles that fell off within a week (and still doesn't quite work right), wood shavings in the cabinets, mounting and locking hardware that had only utilized half of the necessary screws ...you name it. I mean, it was the kind of work you look at and think, "How does this person tie their shoes every morning?" The fact that neither this business owner, nor his son, have already won a Darwin Award is amazing.
FRAUD. Hanlon's Razor cautions, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." But Premier Lock is a case-in-point that yes! You can have both! Premier Lock will invoice you for work before it's done. Premier Lock will inflate its prices on standard parts. Premier Lock will use cheap knock-offs of high quality parts while still charging you for the authentic parts. I am not making this shit up.
GENERALLY MAKING THE WORLD A WORSE PLACE. It's rare that a person, or a business, can create as much trouble as this puny shop has caused my company. But they have been given so many opportunities to make their botched work right with us ...and have never come through. Sorry, guys, but all the years of history can't make up for the two-bit sham that your business is now.
