I would give them 10 stars but there are only 5 to choose from here! Blessed to find a…read moreMechanic/shop that I know will be fair and honest and do the right thing. Not only that, the work performed is done with honesty and integrity. Absolutely skilled professionals & certified. The hood of my car was stuck closed. A few people said it would need a new hood or a new cable or both. Finally one day my worst fear (one of them); I was running errands and I went to start old faithful, nothing happened. Called tow truck but had no idea where to take my car. Looked on my phone for the closest shop to where I was. D & D is conveniently located in the center of Cottage Grove. They could have made a lot of money off me (many others have). I had no idea what could be wrong. I need my car and would pay whatever for the repair, walking is not an option. I had a very old dead battery. It happens. They knew immediately how to open the hood. Came in, told me what was wrong, suggested what needed and told me how much it would cost. BOOM! Easy, honest, quick, worry-free and done!

Went in for a rear wheel seal replacement. Ended up having to take it back 3 separate times because…read moreit leaked worse each time. Initially cost me over $300 the first time, second time was covered, but the 3rd time was another $75. Finally said it wasn't the seal but the axel bearing. My question was after spending the money, missing 2 days of work and having to spend more because this was a "separate issue" why wasn't it discovered the first time, and especially the second time. The answer given to me, was because all I told them that what was wrong was a leaking wheel seal that Les Schwabs had relayed to me and they didn't feel the need to investigate further. Missing it the first time, maybe, but a second and third time, unacceptable on a professional level. Why would you not look further into it after your fix failed to complete a job the first or subsequent times? Then quoted me another $1300 for about $500 in parts and 4hrs work, sorry, not this time, ridiculous. If that's their practice to just assume everyone knows their rigs and take it at face value then they're just setting customers up for further issues down the line, it may seem benign but that's taking advantage of customers in the long run, professionalism is also having the foresight for the problems and what might also be underlying so the jobs done right the first time. They're nice people, but bad work practices. Won't be back.
