Standing outside reading the menu, the owner came out and welcomed me in. Why not, he spoke English and I was hungry. The set menu had multiple choices, and I elected French onion soup (when in Rome), Beef confit bourguignon-style, herb mashed potatoes and mushrooms, and caramel custard parfait. The onion soup had bread with cheese floaters and was bursting with flavor. The beef confit bourguignon had the best tasting sauce and the meat was so tender, I could have cut with the edge of my fork. The custard itself was full bodied and not sweet, but the custard glaze was the perfect compliment. All that yum yum was only €16.00. I had them match a wine and drank the entire bottle to my satisfaction. It was "typical" of the restaurants in Paris, hard to get a bad meal, but Kentouri Nourdine was a testament to the flavorful elegance of French food. Don't miss. read more
