Over the past 14 months that I have had a space, they have tried to raise the rent (4x the original regular price!) every few months without the proper notice. Each time I caught it, called them on it, and they returned my rate to what it was supposed to be. Until this last time - they refused to follow their own contract, and now we'll see how it goes with my small claims court case! (The contract prohibits a class action lawsuit...because in the past the have settled those.) I have watched their Google rating go from about the same as Yelp to 5 stars. Why? Because they ask every single person to give them a Google review - they even have signs up in the office about it. And if I had given a review in the first few months, it would have been a 5 - the place IS clean, the security IS good, and in those early months before they start jacking up the rates, the pricing feels good also. When reading reviews for this place, or any storage facility, I recommend looking at how long the person has been a customer before they make the review. If they don't mention being a customer for a while, ignore that opinion...it will likely change with time, and they may or may not make it back to update their review.

When I went into the office, the clerk, I believe her name was Amber, shuffled over to me. I expressed that I wanted to rent a storage unit. I was not prepared for what happened next. Amber said I smelled like plastic and she doesn't serve druggies. Her face was red. This was really astounding because I have never done drugs in my life. I'm an accomplished professional, with my life together. So this came entirely out of the blue. I'm not sure if she mistook me for someone else but nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I was so shocked at the absurdity of it, that I just said "thank you" and wandered out. Needless to say, I didn't store my things there. I'm not sure if she was the one influenced by some kind of substance, but she was angry and out of control and it seemed like she needed a lot of help. I'm surprised that an established business could hire someone like that. I would recommend to all prospective customers NOT to come here. In fact, if I could give this place a negative star, I would. Find any other place, because anything will be better than this.

Anybody considering renting space in this facility would do better to make bookings on the website. I made reservation over the phone and paid $30 reservation fee. The lady I spoke with on the phone (who works the front desk) did not disclose the admin fee, that the discount is only applicable for first 2-months, and even though I originally requested the "convenient" storage space she set me up on the "saver" space on the top floor. Needless to say, moving all of my furniture up there was a big pain in the ass. All she had to do was give an extra 5 minutes of her time explaining thoroughly over the phone - I might have went with a different storage facility after finding out their prices but at least I wouldn't have had a bad experience.

They lie to you and say "its a one time thing" just to get you out of their store or off the phone. Avoid using this place if on a fixed income. Nothing but increases in prices once they get your stuff stored there. Shady business practice. If they're reading this, yall need to offer leases with fixed pricing so you don't alienate so many renters. Imho they're scamming people. STAY AWAY FROM WEST COAST STORAGE IN HAPPY VALLEY. Every business has operating costs. But when that increases, your clientel shouldnt have to pay for it. If someone tags, spray paints your business or even if a car drives thru the window or something, dont raise the prices of everyone so you can fix it. those are one time expenses that the company needs to absorb and pay WITHOUT JACKING THE RATES UP LIKE THEYVE BEEN DOING. on 3/1 our space rent will be more than double what it was when we signed up From $40 to over $90...for a closet. Does that sound reasonable? Not at all. Currently looking for alternatives

My unit was broken into sometime between 2/4 and 2/18, and completely ransacked. About $10k in property was stolen, and based on the size of some items (multiple 8' surfboards, 88qt cooler, full sized bbq) this occurred over multiple days. After identifying a suspect living in another unit, I eventually found a couple small value items inside when it was vacant and unlocked. I found more stolen property in other unlocked units, as well as a bucket of human feces. It took four more days before the suspect's unit had a red lock on it to keep them out. The management has allowed unhoused thieves to enter the main gate (and not leave) for far too long. If you do narrow down a suspect and timeframe when they were there, good luck getting any security camera footage without a warrant. The property manager can only do so much, but if you try to get a hold of anyone higher up you need to call the 800 number and take a 72 hour ticket. That will surely expire before you hear back, so you'll have to track down the area manager on linkedin. Also, don't expect the new company to have a copy of your original lease agreement if you rented a unit prior to NSA taking over. Management will take it upon themselves to docu"sign" a new lease agreement in your name without your knowledge. Don't waste your time or money here. If you do, don't expect the company to do the one thing you pay them for- keep your belongings safe. This place has become the wild west, and is more of a haven for thieves than a storage unit facility.
