This charming little bookshop offers great deals on books, but the best part is the owner. The…read morestaff is very helpful and knows a lot about choosing books for my teens and tweens. They suggested several new series for us to try. The books are in excellent condition, and the store is clean and well-kept. Prices are reasonable, and there were even free advance publisher copies at the entrance! Other customers were friendly too. We left with a big stack of new books and are excited to enjoy a nice Sunday reading them. Next time, we plan to sell our used books in good condition to make space on our shelves. What a fun idea!

We chatted about favorite books and despite only being here for 11 months, I hope they become a dub-c staple. The owners are a couple, one who went to school for culinary and the other for poetry. Truly a story from a Hallmark movie! Supporting independent bookstores and small POC-owned businesses is a priority for me, and I'm happy to welcome this location to the area. Their book collection is small, but the owner seems to have read most of them or can still give pointers. Still a wide variety of genres for sale, from children's books to horror to Japanese poetry.

However, we did enjoy browsing the owners collection. Once the owner greeted us, he asked if we needed help and was very accommodating. Honestly, this place is worth checking out, just to see all of the old books, the rolling ladder, and if you are in search of vintage books this is your place. It is street parking here. I ended up getting an old Girl Scout manual, and the owner let me know that he also does repairs. We will definitely come back!

My favorite finds are cheap weird stuff from publishers I've never heard of. It looks like 2nd and Charles is adding clearance sections to many areas -- I found them in horror, mystery and science fiction -- and this is a welcome improvement.
