I've been to multiple events here and they're always so well done. They have a great selection and great prices. On April 3, 2024 I ordered through the mail a book "The Indoctrinated Brain" by Michael Nehls. My order # 20961 but never received the book. I emailed them to ask about the book and received an email back stating that I had cancelled the order and received a refund. I contacted my bank to see when the refund was received and they don't show one. I emailed Main Point Books again and asked them to email a copy of the refund so that I could then recontact the bank. Guess what, NO RESPONSE. No body to contact, no response just kept the money. A warning, BE VERY CAREFUL DEALING WITH THEM ON LINE. I will not let this go because if they did this to me, they will do it again to someone else. read more

Great book store in the heart of Wayne. The staff really know their books and can make great recommendations. The store has a very open layout with comfy chairs to flip through books. There is a children's area. I have found some fun gifts as well as discovering books that are recommended by the staff. There are also events at the store for the community to participate in. If they don't have a book you want, they are happy to order. I love supporting local bookstores. This book store is sure to bring the bookworm out in anyone. Highly suggest popping in! read more

After Borders closed down there hasn't really been a bookstore on the main line for people looking to get physical books. Imagine my excitement then when I needed a book today and I found Main Point bookstore nestled right on Lancaster Avenue. The first thing I noticed about the space is that it feels very inviting. The shop isn't huge but there are a fair number of shelves for browsing which were pleasently stocked with a variety of new books. The owners had even carved out a little niche in the back for childrens books books, complete with adorable carpeting and frog chair. Unfortunately, Main Point books did not have the book that I was looking for (one of the problems with its size) and had to order it. The one area where this little book store really shined was the customer service. The salesperson who was working there was super helpful in directing me to the proper location to find what I was looking for and then subsequently helping me get the proper book ordered. With the exception of having to wait a couple days to get the book that I wanted, my experience at Main Point books was awesome. I think I'll be heading back here next time I'm in need of a new book or I'm looking for something different to read. read more

Had my first visit to Main Point Books last week and it was simply wonderful! I needed a book for my book club that no one in the area had so I ordered it from Main Line Books.I immediately got a response from them stating that they would be more than happy to get the book for me. Within 3 days, I received a call from Cathy letting me know it was in. My friend came with me to check out the store, along with a 3 page list of books that she was shopping for middle school age children. The list was handed to an amazing salesperson, Amber, who enthusiastically gathered the books together. It was quite evident that both Cathy and Amber are book lovers who are eager to help their customers. How refreshing to have an independent bookstore available again! I look forward to my next my next visit to Main Point Books. I highly recommend this store for book lovers everywhere! read more

Amazing! Someone opens a bookstore in this electronic age! And they carry new books! In a storefront! This could only happen on the Mainline. I nearly pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming when I walked into this place. It's got pleny of titles, but doesn't slam you over the head with endless shelves. Fantastic addition to downtown Wayne! I am the kind of person who can scour Barnes and Noble for 2 hours and walk away with nothing because its selection is boring. Main Point Books excels by having both mainstream titles and also more "off the beaten path" selections. It is a store the bibliophile can appreciate that also can accommodate someone seeking NYT bestsellers. I appreciated that aside from Fiction, they had separate sections for New York Review of Books Classics, Penguin Classics, Modern Library and others. They had significant history, biography, children's, and other well-organized sections. I walked away with "Butcher's Crossing" - a somewhat obscure fiction title that you wouldn't necessarily expect to find in any bookstore these days - and "Without You There Is No Us" which is nonfiction about North Korea. The booksellers were knowledgeable. One recommended Hanya Yanagihara's "A Little Life" to me, and the other recommended "Stoner" by John Williams. Those are both interesting, educated and well-perceived recommendations based on a brief conversation. If I went to a large chain bookstore I would never have received such recommendations, and they suggest a valuable depth of reading by the store's employees, who seem engaged with their customers. This is the kind of store that the general public should encourage because they will almost certainly have the popular title you seek, but will also have books that perhaps you should read but do not know about. The atmosphere of the store is very pleasant and spacious, but unlike many medium-sized bookstores, it has a plentiful selection that you could peruse for a very long time. The location is great - near some very good Wayne restaurants such as Teresa's and the Wayne Coffee and Ice Cream Bar. That is, you can kill two (or more) birds with one stone, and parking is a breeze. I would go here over Barnes and Noble any day, and you should too. read more

There are not many TRUE bookstores left in this world. By true, I mean in the sense that the people working there understand, appreciate and know books. I called looking for a yoga book that was out of print . Jacob the person that answered the phone was very courteous and took the information about the book and said he would look it up and call me back. Even tough the book was sold out long ago and was no longer available at the store he offered suggestions on how I may find a copy at other vintage book stores. I took his suggestion and found a used copy like new. I appreciate the fact that he called back. Other stores did not do this during my search so they deserve an a good recommendation.
