Not my favorite B&N. Vibe can feel pretentious & unwelcoming. Asked if they had a magazine in-stock…read more& was given a mix of insults & excuses. "Are you sure this title is in print?" ME: Yes, for sure. "Because..." ME: Because lots of magazines have gone digital, I'm aware, this is for sure in print. "This could be a magazine that only grocery stores carry." ME: Well I've purchased it here before, not specifically this store, but Wyomissing location. "Oh, well, we clean up our magazines, they don't do their job there." A simple, "Iooks like we don't have it" will suffice. I kinda wanna say (but don't) you have a lot of attitude for a store that has a broke-azz escalator & none of the magazines I want. It's unnecessary to run down another location & the point is wasted, cause if Wyo "not doing their job" means a broader selection of magazines to choose from, guess where I'm heading next time! At the register I'm asked if I want to use my rewards which are greater than the purchase I'm making. I reply sorta rhetorically, sure so long as I won't lose the difference. Said to me sarcastically, "Yeah, we're just gonna throw them all away!" WTF. Glad I was having a chill day & didn't respond w/ equal sarcasm, "right, cause rewards, points, coupons, these things never expire or have rules." No seating. Tight cafe area. Right-Fighter employees. Disappointing magazine selection.

They also have a clearance section which actually has some books and items to choose from. There were many sales associates available to ask questions and help you find what you need.

I am a reader. I have always been a reader…read more I was a toddler who was reading before I was speaking. Mavey's is my kind of bookstore. Nestled in a row of historic buildings & shops, this tiny little bookstore manages to have a vast variety of books while at the same time being carefully curated. Things are mostly grouped by type, though there's also a delightful jumble, books you wouldn't expect to be side-by-side on a shelf, yet they work. The owner is delightful, happy to chat and also perfectly comfortable with silent exploration. The various recommendations are written by hand, posted right by the book on the shelf. It's an easy walk from the Ardmore train & bus. Parallel metered parking on street and a large municipal garage around the corner. Their pricing is fair, not a race-to-the bottom, also not extravagantly overpriced. You can pay slightly less to a vast conglomerate whose executives take joyrides to space while driving their s workers to exhaustion. Or you can come to this place that loves books and the people that read them. I choose the latter. I hope you do too.

This is an adorable little bookstore. It turns out to be right around the corner from Char & Stave,…read moremy fave coffee spot when I'm in town. I love that this is BIPOC and woman-owned; it's super satisfying to support a small business. I appreciate not only the curated collection of books but also the fact that they do events, which helps create community. And of course I'm enjoying my book, which I didn't know about before but was glad to have purchased!

They have a private parking lot and occupy both floors as they did in the past. The upstairs, which is accessible by elevator, had a Starbucks and a nice seating area. You are welcome to their free WiFi and can stay as long as you like. No purchase necessary! You can take books and magazines from the shelf to peruse while you are there. In addition to the wide variety of books and magazines, they have a gift section with puzzles, board games, stationary, wrapping paper and more. The staff seemed absolutely delighted and were eager to help and promote the store. They have more regional control over their offerings and have a nice selection of Philadelphia items in stock. They also have regular events and I was told Ginger Spice will be there in April to promote her kids book. Still has that brand new smell, stop in and check it out, great to have them back in the neighborhood!

B&N realizes that people need community spaces, and their new stores are a way to promote places for people to gather. This location has community events with local and national touring authors as well. I saw Ginger Spice on her YA Fantasy book series in April, and I made a friend at the event. WTG on building community, B&N. There is plenty of parking, and it's an easy walk from the Bryn Mawr regional rail station. They have books and toys on 2 floors, and a cafe upstairs. The staff is really friendly, and if you mention their community events, they will clue you into what's on the calendar. I always support local bookstores over chains, and that won't change. But the community events that this location hosts are a great addition to the neighborhood. Thanks for returning to Bryn Mawr, B&N!

I'll admit that in the 21st century, I tend to order most of my books online via Amazon. However,…read morenothing will ever beat the sensation of browsing a bookstore. This Barnes & Noble is no different. The store is clean and spacious with a great variety of books! There are aisles of books ranging from the hottest new books on the market to books on law and history. I'm a big fan of law and history and this Barnes & Noble was the perfect stop for me! I was able to conveniently find a law book by Alan Dershowitz and some other books about the U.S. Constitution and the Founding Fathers. I was also in the market for some books for younger kids, as I have quite a young niece. They even had a book that was customized with her name-Madison- on it. I also picked up some books about animals for her. This Barnes & Noble is a really convenient spot to shop at, if you have younger children, as they have a good selection of books for kids. It is vital to start reading to kids at a young age! The employees here were very nice and helped me around the store. The cashier, Randy was nice, too. I appreciated how he went around the counter to give me my two bags of books that I purchased. Finally, this Barnes & Noble is offering curbside pickup because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems like Barnes & Noble really cares about the health and safety of their customers! I would have stopped off at this Barnes & Noble cafe, which serves Starbucks coffee. However, there were quite a few customers in line, so many were sent to the cafe to checkout. Instead of getting a bite to eat at Barnes & Noble cafe, I went to the Panera Bread in Conshohocken, which is not too far away. This Barnes & Noble is located in a nice shopping center, which includes other options including Dick's Sporting Goods, BestBuy, PetSmart, Lowes, Ross and more. There is lots of parking as a result and a trip here can make a fun shopping day. Altogether, I love reading about law and history. The best way to learn more about those subjects is through books and Barnes & Noble is one of the best places for books!

To get away from screen time I figured we can go to Barnes and Noble because he does enjoy the feel Of a good book. It was great. Spacious, organized and fully staffed was just what the doctor ordered. The children's section was huge, there was a ton of seating and the selection was diverse and hit all his favorites. He has the building blocks of reading so it was great to see him maneuver among the educational and entertainment books. Got some looks that weren't so generous from staff but that's just a part of ppl in general not being aware of what autism is. It's in a metroplex so there's plenty parking and no notable boundaries to those with disabilities. Will be back!
