Grilled USDA Choice Carne Asada Fries

Carne Asada Fries ($14.74) - This is one of my new favorite carne asada fries. The thick, high-quality cuts of steak were grilled to perfection and had a nice marinade. The fries were a surprising highlight because of how well seasoned and crispy they were. All the toppings went so well together and yielded such a delicious meal. Highly recommend!

Always top quality meats! My favorites are the Burgandy or Habanero Mango marinated carne. I recently discovered that they will cook the meat up for you too if you ask which was super helpful since I don't currently have a grill at home. Everyone there has always been friendly and helpful. Their burritos and bowls are also excellent, they have a few tables inside to sit and eat there or you can take it to-go. It's not the cheapest option for Mexican food near by, but the quality of the meat is worth it. I love that you have choices of black or refried beans and between poblano and Spanish rice. Add their jalapeño queso to your burrito - you won't be disappointed!

Stopped by today for a couple carne asada tacos and a couple bean & cheese burritos to share with my son. Totaling $30 The establishment was meticulous. Offering items to purchase to take home and cook. Plenty of seating with an really clean kitchen. (Always a good sign) The cashier and the chef were both friendly and professional. On to the food: The bean & cheese burritos are just as I remembered them from high school. They're the best. We used to go almost every week for one of them, and obviously because they're superior to other b&c burritos nearby. The tortilla they use here are top tier too. 10/10 The carne asada was a decent portion of higher quality meat, it tasted freshly grilled with a hint of citrus, the guacamole was yummy, and the tortilla was so good. You know when you get tacos to go and the tortilla becomes both/either hard and soggy? Not here, after my twenty minute drive the tortilla was the perfect texture and not soggy or hardened. 10/10 wish I got two for myself.

These are the classic Texas Twinkies with carnitas filling. There is a total of 20.

Best meat market in Escondido! We always get the habanero chicken thighs and or breasts. If we are lucky we pick up the classic Texas Twinkies and make them all dice them up and use it for pretty much anything like burgers, baked potatoes or whatever you can think of. They have also made me a special order upon request for the Twinkies that was WONDERFUL customer service. I am actually going to pick some up right now so you better go and get some before they run out!

I love this spot. Family owned, local. Fresh, high-quality ingredients. I came in for a burrito today and it was absolutely delicious. I've also gotten some of their marinated carne asada to grill at home and loved it. I look forward to coming back and getting more good stuff.

I'm not one to say this such and such is the BEST steak, carrot, glass of water, whatever, I've ever had. BUT, the carne asada--at least as cooked by Kennedy's cooks--is spectacular. It's tender, juicy, and has a ton of flavor. Kennedy's is a small grocery market, with fresh meat, some refrigerated items like salsa, guacamole, etc., chips, and wine. But they've also got a grill, inside the grocery, where they make tacos, burritos, and other food. You order at the front counter/cashier and pick up your food at the kitchen grill area. The carne asada taco was excellent. It's bigger than a street taco and it's packed with meat, pico de gallo, and guac. It's delicious. It's also $7, which is steep. The carne asada burrito is very large. And it's got that same excellent carne asada. It's very, very good and is also a pricey $16. By the way, the creamy chipotle sauce in the refrigerated grocery area is insanely good. I could bathe in that stuff. This is a very cool market with excellent carne asada. The food can be expensive but they use quality ingredients.

My fiancé and I met Michael's wife at a farmers market in Vista the night before, and I was honestly pretty skeptical about trying biltong at a farmers market in the US because, for some reason, it always tastes better in South Africa. Well, we went to the stand and every piece was perfect. I fell in love with it, and Michael's wife told me to come to the shop the next day, where we could meet Michael and get a tour. I seldom write reviews unless it's important to me, but I was so happy we found YEBO- unreal beef with flavors that melt in your mouth and live there. The only downside is that I didn't buy more on my first visit. I'm literally kicking myself because I'm sitting in an office without any more biltong. I plan to make it a weekly weekend trip to come down, and this time, I'll get more than a pound of beef, though I doubt that will be enough. Also, big shoutout to Michael for introducing me to the non-Nando's Peri-Peri because I've been using that for everything. On a side note, if you don't mind a little kick for your palate, the peri peri biltong might be at the top of my list of favorite beef snack flavors.

It's a South African dried meat that's air cured. We got the beef stick version and the sliced version. It became an addicting snack. It's premium meats, thin and fatty. Finally had the chance to make it to the Store. Met the owner and creator, Michael. Super friendly nice guy. He took us in the back to show us how it's made. There were two rooms. One can be considered the wet lab where meats were marinated and prep. The second room was the dry room where meats were hanged to dry. We couldn't remember which one we purchased at the fair and they had new packaging. Michael let us try samples and we ended up getting 4 different kinds. They will be celebrating two years on Saturday September 27! Be sure to come support. You can also find them weekly at the north county farmers market.

I get that smash burgers are all the rage these days, but if a burger patty spends as much time on the second side as it did on the first, it's not crustified; it's as tough and juiceless as jerky. an abundance of aging primals are on display at the WISE OX. when they're cut into steaks, the trimmings are ground for burgers. a not-particularly-wise cow died for our sins (so said the family's vegan son who begged off lunch). honor that and cook the meat properly. to not do so is beyond sacrilegious. if I told the meat cutter (aka the "butcher") I was going to use the dry-aged Rib Eyes or New Yorks he'd just carved up to make jerky, he'd be horrified. so, why isn't he raging at the guy on the grill doing that to our burgers? the BEEF FAT FRIES (aka Tallow Fried Fries) still have great flavor, but are still way, way, way too salty. check the photo, and count the visible salt crystals if your cardiologist's on speed dial.
