Pineapple agua Fresca, quesabirria and vampiros.

Authentic, amazing tacos that came highly recommended by locals. The quesabirria taco was juicy, flavorful and recommended by staff. The smell when you walk in is intoxicating. Friendly and helpful staff and some of the best Esco offers. Park in the back and there's always a spot. We scored no line at 11:30, there was a wait by the time we left.

I had Frida's on my list for a while and finally made the trip out to Escondido. Frida's Taqueria serves up TJ style tacos, burritos, mulitas, quesadilla, fries, tortas and many more. For my first time visit, I always order the al pastor and carne asada. Both were delicious, with a 2 fresh corn tortillas for each taco with a good amount of meat, onions and cilantro, salsa and guacamole. Each taco was packed with flavor with all the juices dripping out with each bite. I was very happy with their al pastor as well as the carne asada. I highly recommend both selections. Happy to see another TJ style taco in Escondido. Frida's is a well run operation where you order inside and pick up your meal by giving your receipt to the taco assemblers. Plenty of seating in the patio as well as inside. The only downside is the parking as Frida's does not have their own dedicated parking lot. You will have to circle the block to find street parking.

I visited this location late afternoon on a weekend. They don't have a parking lot but there was street parking in the back. There was not wait, and actually nobody other than our party in the restaurant (there's another taco spot across the street that was much much busier). This location does weekday taco deals so I assume it's much busier on those days. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Ordering is done inside, and the tacos are prepared outside (the sauces are inside though). Our group tried this spot as part of taco crawl, so I just tried a carne asada and adobada (al pastor) as staple items. Unfortunately, I was fairly disappointed in both since they were kinda dry in an overcooked way. There was gauc on the tacos as well, but it didn't taste like anything. This is one of few taco spots includes complimentary grilled veg. Overall, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. They do offer a catering service!

They have several locations in North County. If you enter from the back, you will see an outdoor, shaded patio with cooks preparing the food. I saw people waiting in line so I thought that was the line to order but you actually order inside, then they will give you a receipt, then you go back outside to give the cook your receipt order. Maybe a sign saying this would be helpful because several people did not know where to order. They serve tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fresh juices & more. I went for Taco Tuesday where they have deals all day! I ordered Carne Asada Taco, Birria Quesataco & Chicharron Taco. The tacos were just okay & unfortunately, the Chicharron looked like a glob of straight up fat that I lost my appetite.

We've been to Frida's three now and each time has been amazing and I think is our new go to spot when we're in the area!! Notable standouts are the quesatacos and campanchana fries with carne asada and adobada. I can't wait until my next trip because there's so many other items I want to try!! The service is always friendly and helpful and we really enjoy the vibes!

FRIDA's TAQUERIA @ Escondido This place was so incredible, every single experience for me from food, service, and ambiance was OUTSTANDING! My best friend and I decided to stop by here, parking is available for street and there's a plenty. We came here on a Tuesday, and the have $1.99 tacos each instead of the original price of $3.49. You have to go inside first to order, and then go outside to get your tacos. We got 4 adobada tacos, and a horchata and strawberry milk. The horchata wasn't my favorite (my friend ordered that one) and it was a bit bland. However, I was OBSESSED with how good the strawberry milk was, the lady allowed me to have a sample and it was so fresh, had strawberry bits, and was such a delicious sweet drink. It can be a bit sweet, but i personally really loved it, and it balanced well with the ice. Tacos took a bit long because it was busy. Once the tacos arrived, we then went to the side bar that had all sorts of sauces, limes, and containers for us to even put it in. I really loved how easy and organized everything was. The tacos were juicy, and they were not skimpy with the meat and the avocado! Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by this place, the ambiance was clean, and everything was just an incredible experience!

Customer service is no good here, super cramped at entry, and the establishment was recently ordered by the health department to close down due to vermin infestation. Last time I went was a year ago and we never went back. Food was mediocre. Highly discourage anyone from going to a place that was ordered by health department to close due to vermin. Gross.

Met dad at Frida's Taqueria for lunch on Taco Tuesday, and we certainly left with happy bellies and smiles on our faces. We enjoyed the variety of meats and options, and a nice covered outdoor area to eat and enjoy. The service was relatively quick despite the lunch rush. We will definitely be back for more!

Definitely a great experience here! I've always wanted to try this establishment ever since I saw it in Vista. If you're familiar with certain Mexican establishments like Tacos el Gordo or TJ's Tacos, the set-up is pretty much the same where you need to give your receipt to the chef/kitchen to pick up your order. My husband & I ordered the Birria fries, Birria burrito and the mango agua frescas. We were so torn with their drink assortments because we love the drinks! The cashier was nice enough to give us samples of two different mango drinks, which helped our decision so much more. We had the chance to sit outside in the back to enjoy the sunny weather. When you look around, it's set up with a nice tent with fairy lights hanging, with another kitchen area set up in the back for outdoor events I assume? It was cool seeing the ambiance that way. Food rating: Birria fries - 10/10. The Birria soaks up the flavor of the fries sooo much and it was not soggy when consumed fresh. It was probably my favorite Birria fries by far. Birria burrito - 3/10. Probably not the best decision to get a Birria burrito as well since it was so heavy. The Birria meat was not chopped up finely for the burrito making it very chewy and unenjoyable to eat. This was my least favorite thing on the menu. Mango milk agua frescas - 10/10. The flavors of the drink definitely hit the spot to balance out the saltiness in our food. It had such a sweet milk flavor & it was so refreshing! Overall, we would definitely come back again to try their tacos and drinks.

Come in! come in! White girl!! Yes - I did ....thank you for the welcome!!

Finally visited this place we've heard so much about. Outside seating and smells wonderful! Nice decor inside and outside. Order inside, select a drink from a variety of Aqua Fresca and head outside to the cook. Show them Your ticket and wait for your food. Food was so GOOD! We gave a tip to the cooks- worth it they work hard. Salsa in taco was freshly made and had a nice kick! We will return and I'm trying the nachos. Parking is the downside - - not many options unless you park in a dirty unkept parking area below a business.

The first time I visited a few weeks ago, I had a really positive experience. The location was a little hard for me to find, but once I got there, it seemed worth it. I walked in craving a breakfast burrito and was helped by a very nice, slender gentleman at the counter. I asked for a ham, bacon, and sausage breakfast burrito and also requested that it be cut in half. He was friendly, said no problem, and within minutes I had exactly what I ordered. That burrito was delicious. The salsa station was stocked and convenient with self-serve cups readily available, and the atmosphere was nice. The people around me were friendly, and one gentleman even mentioned this was the place that used to be near Peterson's Donuts. Overall, it was a great first impression and I left happy, already planning to come back. Fast forward to today, Saturday, April 25, 2026 around 10:30 AM, and unfortunately, my second experience was the complete opposite. This time there was a young woman working the register, and from the moment I approached, she didn't seem very welcoming. I told her I wanted to order a breakfast burrito but wasn't sure what kind I wanted today. She told me the only options were bacon, egg, cheese and tater tots, or egg and cheese. I politely asked if I could add ham and sausage and pay extra, since that's what I had ordered before. She immediately responded that they "didn't have that type of breakfast burrito." That response confused me because I had literally ordered one there before. I wasn't going to argue, especially because her tone and attitude made me feel like I was bothering her just by asking questions. I then asked if the burrito could be cut in half and never really got a clear response. I also noticed the salsa station no longer had the little self-serve cups available, so I had to ask for those too. The same cashier asked how many I needed, and I said two. A few minutes later, another woman called my name and handed me the burrito. I sat down and realized it wasn't cut in half like I requested. At that point, I had to go back up and ask for a plastic knife and fork just to cut it myself. Which was not a problem or issue for me. I ate half of the burrito, but honestly, it wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The taste was underwhelming, and by the time I left I was just so disappointed. I ended up throwing the other half away after I left. Consistency matters, especially when the first experience set the bar high. The food was great the first time, but the service and quality were lacking the second time around. My honest opinion: if someone is having a bad day, they probably shouldn't be the first face customers interact with at the register. I may update this review depending on how management responds, because I know this place can do better based on my first visit.

It was on a Friday night, the place was packed, and difficult to find a spot to park. The line to order was almost out the door, but still fast to get through, and we were quick to choose what we wanted before struggling to find a spot to sit and talk. After about 15 minutes, our order was ready and we got to enjoy our food. We started with the Carne Asada Nachos, Refried Beans on the side. The meat was flavorful, very tender, and plentiful atop a pile of crisp and fresh tortilla chips. The cheese was nice and salty and the sour cream was warm to the point where it drizzled over it all nicely. All in all, it was a very tasty start to the night. The only two issues I had with it were that the guac was a bit overly pureed, making it kind of runny. And the refried beans had a very sour flavor, making me think that they were over the edge of going spoiled. I had to thank my wife's aversion to eating beans, helping us avoid having them spooned on top, which would have ruined this course. I also had an Al Pastor Taco, Craft Coast Style. The whole it was crisped up well, the cheese forming a great crust on the inside of the taco. The meat was sweetly marinaded, flavorful and delicious. On top of it was a good amount of beans, onions, cilantro, and guacamole, making for a good sized taco without any overflowing. It was pretty damn tasty. So, our first trip out here had more highs than lows, resulting in a very positive initial dinner. I'm sure those beans were just a one-off, at least I hope they were. And there's still hope that the guac may have had too much lime or had been overly mixed this time around. A second trip is definitely in the cards, with more of the family to expand what comes to the table.
