James greeted us as soon as we walked in and pulled up info on the matching band for my ring. I didn't love it, so we went and looked at a few other options that I saw in the cases. I appreciate his patience and guidance in helping me select my band. After a short 10 or so minutes, I found the one I love! It was a bit early for us, but they do have a cute little bar for celebrating your new purchase. They also offer financing options through Wells Fargo if needed. During the sales process, my sales associate specifically told me in a text message that their diamond manager "does not tolerate visible inclusions" and that "if you cannot see the difference, you should not pay the difference." That assurance was a major factor in my decision to buy. Within days of proposing, my then-fiancée noticed a visible inclusion in the diamond with the naked eye. I reported it to the store within about a week of picking up the ring. What followed was several months of a promised "replacement search" that never actually produced a suitable stone. When I eventually asked for a refund, the owner told me over the phone that it wasn't possible because the ring would be considered "estate jewelry." Instead, I was offered a 110% store credit toward a future purchase, meaning I'd need to spend more money with the same store to fix a problem they created in the first place. Even written assurances from their own staff didn't hold up when it mattered. If you're shopping for an engagement ring, get everything documented, and understand that documentation alone may not protect you here.
