We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well... here is mines: Parking: 5 Location: 5 Customer Service: 5 Facility décor/cleanliness: 4 I love shopping at World Market. As you may know you can find items from all over the country/globe. This location is excellent. It sits close to Southpoint mall and has a private parking lot (FREE). The service I got today was great. I was greeted upon entry and checked on by several employees.

I've been coming here since it opened and am a member of their Explorers Club loyalty program. We come mainly for the international food and drink but have occasionally purchased kitchen items and other wares. Unfortunately, I think their food selection has gotten smaller over the years. Check out the clearance endcaps at the back of the store for food on sale. They usually have other sales throughout the year and clearance on seasonal items (e.g., Christmas stuff on sale after Dec. 25). Join their loyalty program and rack up points to get dollars-off coupons. If you sign up for text messages they also let you know when they have free items for their members.

Great place to shop if you are looking for unique decor items, foreign wines and spirits and home goods. Over the years, world market has transformed. Now half of the store is furniture and decor and the other half of the store is home goods spirits and wine. Nice store. Clean and there are sales all around. Private parking lot. Plenty of parking. Stop by if you are looking for a world market. Not the largest store but still very nice!

I have to give WM 5 stars for pretty much furnishing half our apartment and our soon to be new family den all on a budget. Furniture value is where WM gets a huge leg up on the competition...and if you factor in the sales, well, you might walk out with some killer bargains to boot. Most of the furniture we've purchased was constructed with a combination of solid woods and MDF with veneers. Just good enough and (so far) has lasted well past the 1.5 year mark with very little wear and tear. Now, don't get me wrong. The furniture at WM is prolly just ever so slightly better than some stuff you could find at places like Target or even IKEA. So, don't expect to get something high quality here. But it's there when you haven't quite made that big step to adulthood and graduated the college futon[1]. Even away from their bigger items, we love the store just for the nice little touches. Need a small console table? A bench? A lamp? Some artwork? Maybe some decent looking curtains? The accessory potential here is amazing... And when you've escaped the rubberwood clutches of the expansive furniture showroom dispersed throughout the store, don't forget to make your way over to the decent wine section. They carry a good selection and have many well-priced and cheap ($10 or under) Californians and imports. Don't worry, this ain't no 2-buck-chuck....just a hair bit above that and something you don't have to feel like hiding in a paper bag when you decide to regift it! Food and more food....if you have a penchant for unique foods from around the world...well, WM lives up to that as well....and coffee. I bought a pound of their Sumatra blend the other day...and honestly, it was surprisingly good - had a lot of flavour and depth more than I would have expected from shelf-laden coffee beans. For food, I can find brands from other states/countries that I can't find here in other NC stores - e.g., Texans can find their Bob's kettle potato chips, Canadians can find their Aerobars and Coffee Crisps. You can also rock out on some killer CHEAP spices - 99 cents for the small bags of spices like oregano, thyme, curry, etc. So...overall, WM fits that niche where you're not quite ready for Pottery Barn/Restoration Hardware prices, but want some sort of style and finesse in your life. Do as Helena says and join the Explore club - it's free and the coupon/offers they send you are def. worth it! Now go....but be warned, your home/apartment may soon look like a WM furniture showroom if you're not too careful! [1] Although they usually have one on sale!

Decent store to wander around and perhaps make a few impulse buys. They have a good selection of dishes and at one point we had bought all of our bowls and plates from World Market, but over time they broke and we replaced them with dishes from somewhere else. Had they still had the same dishes in stock, we would have re-upped as they were reasonably priced, had both form and function, and lasted a long time. There's a decent selection of packaged foodstuffs from around the world, though I am suspect about how long they've been sitting on the shelves. Good selection of candy and chocolate bars, tea, soft drinks, pickled stuff and condiments at prices that are slightly inflated. You'd be better off either hitting up an ethnic grocery store, your local supermarket or a specialty food store as the price will be comparable and the turnover is better. Pretty good selection of wine and always some on sale, but like the grocery items, you'd do just as good elsewhere. They also have furniture and mass-produced art, throw pillows and handbags, and they must sell scented candles or potpourri as there's a heavy, sweet scent that's almost overpowering, and for me as someone who can't stand scents like this, borderline nauseating. I've no complaints about the staff. They've been helpful when I needed help and I've not encountered any rudeness except for the occasional time when someone might be having a bad day, but it's nothing that a smile on my behalf can't change. Even though we seem to go in here a lot, there's not a lot of our money spent here unless it's Christmas where World Market excels at stocking stuffers. If we were looking for indoor or outdoor furniture I could see looking here along with a dozen other places. Worth popping in if you are nearby. You might like it - certainly has a novelty factor to it, but it's worn off for me.

All sorts of treats and snacks from around the world. This would be a great place to pick up some gifts!

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place! It has so many great random cutesy little things from around the world for pretty decent prices. This is a great place to hunt for room decor or gifts. Check out the pictures I took of the place.

Two of the gorgeous clocks at WM.

Meadowmont Village is the place my wife and I have visited the most during our time in Chapel Hill…read more(2020-2024), mainly because of the Harris Teeter here, but also because of the property's restaurants and other businesses. This is a nice mixed-use development on the east side of Chapel Hill, close to the Durham border. It's just a short drive down highway 54 from I-40 exit 273 and it's not far from 15-501 either. Meadowmont Village sets itself apart from competition in the area by simply being nicer with a cleaner and more elevated atmosphere. The architectural design, layout, and landscaping make it a quaint, relaxing place to walk around. The tenant mix is a good combination of chain and local. This isn't a bigger, destination-type development like Fenton in Cary. Instead, it's smaller and quieter, and that's part of the appeal. It's never felt crowded or uncomfortable all the times I've been here. It's easy to get in and out and there always seems to be just the right amount of people, even when it's busy (e.g., active patios at Brixx, Bluebird, and Kahlovera). There's a pond and trails nearby and overall, the entire neighborhood is well-kept. When we first moved to the area, my wife and I frequented the Harris Teeter up 54 at Hope Valley Commons in Durham. We then switched to the Harris Teeter at Meadowmont Village because it's more secluded and has a calmer, more peaceful environment (inside and out). While I think the Harris Teeter at Hope Valley Commons is a little bigger with a slightly wider variety of inventory, that difference hasn't been big enough for us to switch back to the Hope Valley Commons Harris Teeter as our primary Harris Teeter. Below is a list of businesses at Meadowmont Village that we've been to so far. I've left Yelp reviews for most of them. Restaurants and Cafes * Bluebird - French bistro, one of our favorite restaurants in Chapel Hill. https://www.yelp.com/biz/bluebird-chapel-hill * Brixx Wood Fired Pizza + Craft Bar https://www.yelp.com/biz/brixx-wood-fired-pizza-craft-bar-chapel-hill * Fusion Fish - sushi restaurant, now closed (replaced by Lime & Lemon). https://www.yelp.com/biz/fusion-fish-chapel-hill-2 * Kahlovera Mexican Bar & Grill - great for tacos and margaritas (replaced Chronic Tacos). https://www.yelp.com/biz/kahlovera-mexican-bar-and-grill-chapel-hill-3 * Lime & Lemon Indian Grill & Bar - one of our favorite Indian restaurants in the Triangle and the restaurant we go to the most at Meadowmont Village. https://www.yelp.com/biz/lime-and-lemon-indian-grill-and-bar-chapel-hill * Meet Fresh - yummy Taiwanese desserts, the first and so far only Meet Fresh in the entire state. https://www.yelp.com/biz/meet-fresh-chapel-hill * Quickly - bubble tea and Taiwanese snacks. https://www.yelp.com/biz/quickly-chapel-hill-chapel-hill * Starbucks https://www.yelp.com/biz/starbucks-chapel-hill-4 Other * ABC Store - I got my groomsmen bottles of Jack Daniels from this store, part of the Orange County ABC Store network. https://www.yelp.com/biz/abc-store-chapel-hill-3 * Bell Meadowmont - my wife and I toured the apartments and considered living here. https://www.yelp.com/biz/bell-meadowmont-apartments-chapel-hill * Harris Teeter https://www.yelp.com/biz/harris-teeter-chapel-hill-5 * Meadowmont Dentistry https://www.yelp.com/biz/meadowmont-dentistry-chapel-hill * Monkee's of Chapel Hill - my wife bought a sundress here. https://www.yelp.com/biz/monkees-of-chapel-hill-chapel-hill * The UPS Store - I've swung by this location several times to ship things. https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-ups-store-chapel-hill Not far from Meadowmont Village is the Rizzo Center. It contains a conference center and hotel and is home to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School's Executive Development programs and the historic DuBose Home: https://www.yelp.com/biz/rizzo-center-chapel-hill

But if that doesn't apply to you then this fancy shopping area will work out fine. They're trying to be European and stuff, and it's cute. Reminds me of some of the fancier parts of Northern Virginia or Maryland, but it's not cheap here. It's a cute brand-new shiny shopping center with some boba tea and some desserts and some food and a lot of high-end shops. They tried to make it like a little shopping Village and while it does seem fake it and contrived, it also is a really nice place to hang out and get some stuff - and it's peaceful and safe and quiet and reminds me of Virginia in some ways.

It's a shame that the West Elm store isn't larger (although they have a huge outlet store in…read moreAsheville), because then they could showcase much more of the items they sell, so you can see, sit and touch all they have to offer, by making an informed decision. I wish the West Elm at Southpoint were as big as the Pottery Barn store, or is it as big and its just an illusion? Hmm.. At any rate, West Elm is a bit of a predictable store, in the sense that you know you'll see Modern to MidCentury furniture/themes with functional and contemporary designs. I have many pieces from this store, notably a sofa that took 12 weeks to be delivered. The wait was excruciating but knowing it was custom made, with the exact specifications (color/fabric) I requested, made the wait bearable. West Elm also offers free design service at their stores and the design professional helps map out your room with a 3D render that tells you how much space the furniture will take in your room - all of which is super handy when needing to know if a certain side table or a lamp will fit/ look right, before you commit. Also, if you sign up for their Key Rewards program, West Elm also gives you $25 credit on your birthday, no strings attached. Every year I go in to the store to redeem (though it can be used online), and pick up a birthday cup or utensil. This year, I found out that its also redeemable at their sister stores like William Sonoma, Pottery Barn, etc, which is quite handy, because you can certainly choose from a ton of items at William Sonoma in a jiffy. Oh, and customer service? Excellent. I've had several positive experiences with things that didn't go right at West Elm and each and every time, they were understanding and made things right. This company holds up their values and delivers with integrity. Love West Elm!

Idk if my MIL failed to tell me that this would be an expectation or not, and I really wouldn't mind tipping the guy, except for, I have no cash on me! I never ever carry cash and certainly wasn't expecting for someone to ask me for it. Being alone, with a stranger, at dusk, asking me for money made me unfathomable uncomfortable. Even though there did not end up being an issue, this is NOT something I should have to anticipate. The couch itself is fine. I don't understand why this gentleman if you could call him that, was ever assigned to this task alone. wtf would have happened if this piece of furniture that came in 3 giant pieces, mind you, needed to go upstairs???? LITERALLY PHYSICALLY it would have been IMPOSSIBLE. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT??? 10/10 BS if you ask me, I'm glad I didn't pay for this crap myself or I'd be demanding an effing refund for the liability alone wtf
