***This place is now closed... ****…read more ....but it was saved also by an anonymous donor, whom then donated the property and cabins to the National Park for employee housing. We absolutely adore (former owners and Moulton Ranch hosts) Hal and Iola Blake.. and had stayed here numerous times. We ate dinner with the two one evening and it was a privilege. They were, and still are, wonderful people, whom sold the facility after having run it for many years. When we did stay here, Hal and/or Iola were up from sunrise to sunset doing yardwork, maintenance. They truly poured their heart and soul into this place. It was an absolute honor to have stayed here. I recall numerous times during various stays here, we'd awaken around 3 AM and go outside and saw more stars than ever before. We saw bear on the property during several stays. We saw buffalo stampedes running down the gravel road in front/back in fields as well. I also recall, from our cabin window, we saw a buffalo stand off against horses in a field. The National Park kept horses in a nearby field, fenced, and a buffalo jumped the fence.. as it did, the horses lined up shoulder to shoulder and stared at the buffalo. The buffalo looked at them, then trotted and jumped over the other side of the fence, as it was "cutting through." We also saw a coyote sleeping by our cabin during the day. We will never forget our stays at this place, nor the views. It was an absolute gem, close the to Park, along Mormon Row. I am betting we took 1000 pictures during our numerous stays at this place. The accommodations were always comfortable, spotless clean, and the owners were amazing hosts. I wish Hal and Iola Blake, and their family, the absolute best in their retirement, as they were two of the nicest, most genuine, down-to-earth people we've ever met anywhere. I cannot imagine we'll ever stay at a more scenic, hidden-gem place ever again in our lifetime.. anywhere. We certainly may never meet nicer people than the Blakes. We really got to know them during our numerous stays here. They are blessed people. I will always smile when recalling our 5 pm walks down the gravel road, petting horses, smelling the mountain air, with mountains in all directions. I will also never forget our first stay here, years ago... what a spectacular experience we had each stay....

We had wild Bison walking just outside the fence so you could get great pictures (safely). Iola is a fantastic host. The place is VERY clean, has a great full kitchen and outdoor gas grill. They also have a fire pit for s'mores if the wind isn't too bad! The cabin fit our family of 4 well, larger families might be a little cramped. The place is very quiet, and rustic. They have wifi but it's weak and there's no phone or TVs, although Verizon service does work there. Great place to completely unplug and you are minutes from everything the Grand Teton National Park has to offer. Would definitely return and recommend, even though its a little pricey - well worth it.

Our stay was the Perfect vacation to end the summer with a bang. Just minutes away from downtown Jackson Hole and a short drive from Grand Teton, it's perfectly located offering both convince and privacy. So many gorgeous trails to hike, fishing, tubing down the river, and evening rides on electric bikes. We had so much fun grilling dinner, roasting marshmallows for smores on an open fire, and soaking in the hot tub to end the perfect day before climbing into the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Bedrooms are equipped with huge TV and fireplaces of their own, and the whole property is an emaculate Eutopia!! We can't wait to have a chance to come back and do it again! We didn't really know what to expect, especially after driving through Dubois (pop. 962). We are from southern California and love to get away from everything that is 'city/suburb life'. We pulled through the log arch and onto the property. We crossed a small bridge spanning the Wind river, continued on the dirt road and parked in front of our cabin. It was as awe-inspiring as the pictures from their website. About 10 minutes after we arrived, Martin (the owner) drove up and introduced himself. We had a wonderful conversation. He was very welcoming, answered all of our questions and suggested numerous activities that we may want to undertake during our stay. He advised us of the scenic areas we could visit at the time (it had recently snowed so certain places/roads were closed). He was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure we had plenty of options from which to choose. He even took the quads that they have available and scouted the trails in the area to make sure they were safe and clear of debris should we want to use them. The cabin, along with the entirety of the property, was immaculate. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities, as well as some non-essentials that certainly proved helpful. To make a long story longer, we had an amazing stay. It was, without question, our favorite vacation and a big part of that was because of Martin and the Big Diamond Ranch. Thanks again Martin (and family)! We'll be seeing you again soon.

If there's no traffic it's another 7-8ish minutes to the town of Jackson. We booked the Alta Vista house and a condo booked for 5 nights (due to the size of our family). The house was beautiful and had an amazing view of the Tetons from a large backyard. We have kids and they were beyond accommodating with having multiple high chairs, cribs, and a pack n play in the house ready for our arrival. The house did not have air conditioning which I think is fine for the majority of the time, but it was in the high 80s while we were there and there were a few nights that were incredibly hot upstairs. They did have multiple fans in every single bedroom which was nice. This wouldn't stop me from staying there again but a few things that I was surprised about... -3 of the 4 bath tubs had the stop drain removed so you couldn't fill them for kids to take a bath -one of the closets had an opening to the attic and there was insulation kind of hanging down out of it -the beds were all made with an insane amount of blankets, comforters, etc. I'm assuming they use the same bedding year round -the hot tub was closed for repairs, but no one seemed to be repairing it -it's $75 for a key to turn on the firepit... We booked the horseback riding online for 4 people. Unfortunately one person was unable to make it and we were able to have another family member take his place. Our guide was Hannah and she was amazing! She was incredibly helpful, shared a ton of facts and information along the way, and was really kind. I would definitely go back - just for the ease of everything and the amazing views knowing that there are likely a few things to keep in mind when booking.

Ours was the upper unit which is 2 bdrm unit with an odd jack-and jill bathroom connecting the two rooms, and no kitchen or common sitting area. We immediately drove back to the front desk and asked "where is our kitchen and living room?" They said that is only for the lower units. Nowhere is this clear when you book the room. In fact their website summary and pictures of the units (pic included below) are deceptively mixed so that it appears that you get what you would expect from a "two bedroom suite with kitchen". We asked them to unlock the shared door between the upper alnd lower unit so that we would have a small gathering place and a kitchen. They only did this for an extra fee, ignoring our complaint that this was falsley presented on theri website. The lower unit had a musty old smell, as if the unit not is not often used. There was a sunken area living area, and a murphy bed in what they call the "dining room". Upstairs, one bedroom had a comforter with a large spot (hand sized) of dried blood on it (it had been laundered, but not fully cleaned). The continental breakfast that we pikced up at the front desk ( a separate building) is a boxed breakfast with two hardboiled eggs, an oj, a small, hard bagel in plastic wrap with some cream cheese. and a cheeses stick. It was the same box for all days. We only picked them up on the first day. We took one look and didn't eat anything. We checked out a day early because we were unwilling to spend another night there. The front desk people seemed cordial enough, but they appeared to be ready for the complaints, as if this is a common occurrence, so we didn't bother and just left. It goes without saying that I strongly encourage others to look elsewhere for accomodations in this area. --------- Additional comment: I had saved part of the breakfast box and just discovered that the items I saved in our cooler had expired (cheese and OJ). I can't imagine what that says about the bagel, cream cheese, and hardboiled eggs that were immediate throw-aways! Downgrading form 2 stars to one star! Don't stay here.
