Had a great stay in one of their pioneer wagon glamping units on the river, with my girlfriend! came in shoulder season on the way from denver to the tetons and yellowstone... was awesome. Their hot tub, sauna and firepit on the river was prime. Will be coming back with friends on our next trip! read more

Not a bad place, but being asked for a 5star review when it was NOT a 5star place gets to me. Sign in lobby (which nobody ever there), said to give 5star! Complimentary breakfast a JOKE. Big muffins in plastic, NO COFFEE or juice or granola bars. Absolutely awful. (See foto). Rooms very clean & comfortable, double queen. Windows able to open for fresh nite air. Bathroom extremely small with low toilet & chipped toilet seat (come on, what does a new seat cost?!). Our remote wouldn't turn on TV but never got to see anyone to ask for new batteries. Ice machine been broken for awhile to which manager replied "it's on my list"... gee thanx! Grounds area delightful so would possibly return in warm weather which is obviously when the place is successful. Needs some basic easy work at basic levels. read more

I stayed in the double Queen room. The mattresses have comfortable pillow toppers so they're soft and comfy by not overly so. Everything was clean. Plenty of towels and FOUR packets of makeup remover that were actually new and worked-- most hotels only give one or a maximum of 2 and usually they're so old they're dry and unusable. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The decor is nice. Pine furniture and cabin-y theme. Owners are super nice. read more

We stayed in the River house and I loved the bunk bed and all the features in the house, the owner was super nice. I also liked all the chickens, the playground, and the horseshoe game was fun too! I loved the River that was right next to the house, I also loved that there was every utensil in the house for some reason. Overall the place was super nice and worth the money! read more

We stayed in the river house which was an alternate option to the nice rooms. The owner was super friendly and had her cute kids with her. The river house was $400/night and this might seem expensive for a night but damn son this house had a fully equip kitchen, a living room with a working tv and a bigger than normal bathroom with a shower and toilet. The front door has a code for extra security as well. There were two rooms, a one with the bunk bed and one with a king sized bed with a huge closet in the king bedroom with a view of the river bed in the back! I'm from California and small ass hotel rooms are $1000/night we're i'm from and this was more than expected!! Loved it!! 5 stars!! read more

Disappointed. Dubois is a small town with not much available hotel-wise. This rooms were old and small. The older door and windows certainly didn't make us feel secure. Our room didn't have an air conditioner which made it even more uncomfortable. I certainly wouldn't stay here again. read more

This place was so cute to stay at. Super friendly and accommodating to my large family. We stayed in a duplex that had a playground in the back which was awesome for kids. I only give it three stars because it's super dated and really expensive for what you get. The kitchen sink was dirty when we arrived. No breakfast. read more

My friend and I were refused entry at Chinook Winds Motel in Dubois, WY on September 27, 2021 because the motel discriminated against a disabled veteran with a service dog, despite being informed it was illegal. Throughout the entire interaction, the motel desk woman was very hostile and aggressive. We were checking in and all was going smoothly, until my friend mentioned that she had a service dog. The motel desk woman immediately said "no, that no dogs were allowed." My friend explained that she has a certified service dog, and that she wasn't a pet. The motel woman said that it didn't matter, and that no dogs are allowed, including service dogs. Despite offering to show her the service dog papers multiple times, the woman refused and said it wouldn't matter. The woman threatened multiple times that if we brought the service dog into the room there would be a $200 fine. My friend told her that she is a disabled veteran with a service dog, and that there is a Federal law that dictates that service dogs are protected and therefore exempt from the "no pet" rules. The woman said she didn't care, that she owned the place, and would not allow any dogs inside. She said we could still use the room, but the service dog would have to stay in the car. She refused to let us enter the hotel with my friend's service dog, and then even refused to give us a refund. At that point, it was 11pm at night and we were two exhausted women, alone in an unfamiliar small Wyoming town in the middle of nowhere, with no other place to stay. Both of us are disabled, and I am pregnant, yet that woman refused to honor the reservation or to let us stay the night. read more

I don't even know where to begin! My dad and I took a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and were just winging our accommodations as we went along (low season). We stayed here our last night of the trip and called in the evening around 8:00pm and needed a room. We were about 2 hours away in Gran Teton. The owner (I'm assuming ) was extremely friendly and helpful. She also told us checkout was at 10am, but we could checkout late if we needed. She quickly made our reservation and let us know the front desk associate would be waiting for us when we arrived. When we arrived checkin was quick and easy! We get to our cabin and immediately notice how clean and cozy the room is. My dad took the king bed and I took the sofa sleeper. That was the most comfortable sofa sleeper I have ever slept on in my life! The cabin has a huge kitchen with full size appliances. The bath towels and huge and cozy. Nice toiletries for use. We arrived at dark but could tell the grounds were beautiful. When we woke up we were not disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. The place is so inviting and warm. We went over to grab breakfast and were blown away that it is a home cooked meal! They offer a vegetarian version or a meat version. It's fresh cooked eggs with veggies and potatoes. Absolutely wonderful homemade veggie scramble with fresh ingredients. The Wind River is right behind the cabins and they have hammocks to lounge and listen to the water go by. Reading their information binder you'll find that they are very eco friendly and not just reusing towels. I am honestly blown away by this wonderful little place. As someone who travels for work and leisure frequently and has stayed in some of the nicest hotels out there I can honestly say I would pick this place over majority of the places I've stayed. I told my husband we'll be making a trip back to Grand Teton just so we can stay here on our way from Denver. Thank you for the amazing stay!!! read more

My husband, 9 year old son, and I were on a road trip this summer and we needed a place to stay. When we got a reservation online a few hours before we got there, we thought it would just be a normal motel. When we first rolled into the parking lot, we could clearly tell it was much more. It was basically a log cabin near a nice river. In the front, there were a couple swings and benches for us to relax. We decided to head down to the river to have a nice evening and it turned out to be nicer than we thought. There were a couple of big armchairs with a little canopy on top so it was nice and shady with a slight breeze. I can't think of anything nicer than that. There was also a small playset with some swings and a slide for my kid to play on. Not to mention the horseshoe pits! That evening was the most fun me and my family have had in quite a while. When we got inside to go to bed, there were 2 huge beds that were even more comfortable than we imagined. Especially with the wood log walls and gray carpet and brown, thick, fluffy blankets on the beds, the place felt really cozy. My son begged me to stay here for another night! I definitely recommend going here, and if we ever go near Dubois some time in the future, we will certainly go here for a longer stay! read more

This place is a lifesaver if you're planning on camping in Yellowstone, but then a blizzard in June happens. All the other properties in Dubois close at 10, so when I heard a voice at the other end of the line when I called this place around midnight, it was a miracle. The owner heated up our room for us and had a fresh, local breakfast for us in the morning. Super clean, super soft sheets, 10000000% recommend. read more

Tremendous! Coming from Denver, we were needing a place to stay on our way to Yellowstone for one night. This place is fabulous! The cabins are CUTE and have everything you need to keep you comfy for your stay. There is a fire pit down by the river and a covered area to sit and watch the water rushing by the banks. The owner/manager was SO helpful and went above and beyond for us including with providing us with insights for eating options in the area for dinner. Remember, this is Dubois so it is not the Ritz but it is so homey and a terrific option on your way to or from Yellowstone & the Tetons, you will LOVE IT. read more

Attention National Park travelers: Chinook Winds Motel in Dubois, WY is the best! Wow! Rooms are spacious and very clean, Dish network is sharp on a new flat screen tv, and the WiFi is super fast. Drive the extra mile to the far side of town for this jewel of a hotel. Manager and her daughter are very cool and quick to help. The inside of the rooms look like cabins; they are perfect! You give it 4 stars to make Yelp consider it, but like previous reviewer, it is totally worth 5 stars. read more

The staff here are super friendly. Ive never seen a more beautiful picnic area then the clean barbcue ready area here. You can walk up to the wind river on the stone path that Mr.Nate fishes from!!
