I explained to him that I had gone to the store on old Cutler, where an intellectually challenged young man told me that my battery was fine. Matias checked the battery. Confirm the battery was for all intents and purposes no good. He then honored my warranty. I had three months left on this battery and very quickly installed the new battery. He went above and beyond by suggesting that I buy covers for the terminals to protect against the heat and the corrosion that we all see I was so impressed by him I complimented him to his manager. Today was no different- needing to get lug nuts for my 2010 RX 350. I thought I was going to be smart and buy them directly from Toyota (for my Lexus being as it's the same) and even Toyota wanted almost $7 each (and I needed 20) I called in the morning and Shaira answered, told me she would have all of them ready for me by the time I got in. The problem was diagnosed, a part was ordered, and I popped by again when I was back in town to get the service done. It turned out the code the reader gave them was not the right one, and despite the fact that the new part had already been installed, Mike and his team did more diagnostics, ran tests on the old part, reinstalled it, and didn't charge me a cent for the service. I expected to at least pay for the 6-8 hours of labor the mechanics did in trying to figure out what was going on, but Mike wouldn't let me pay or even let me tip! His reasoning? "You're paying me to fix your car, and we didn't fix your car." If you're looking for a reliable mechanic who will charge fair prices, get work done in a reasonable amount of time, won't try to upsell you on parts and services you don't need, and will be honest when he doesn't think he can help you, come to Pinecrest Automotive Center! Well, they changed the manager, and the new guy is nice but not willing to take the next step.
