I'm writing this review because I've had an extremely frustrating experience trying to resolve a claim and get reimbursed for expenses I paid out of pocket. Back in October, I was involved in an accident that was determined not to be my fault by both Kemper and Progressive. Because of the situation, I had to pay several expenses upfront, including my deductible and rental car costs, with the understanding that I would be reimbursed once the claim was processed. My agent, Austin Aust, told me to obtain a claim number and submit my receipts, which I did. I provided documentation for all expenses. I was told I would be reimbursed once Progressive sent the payment to Kemper. However, Progressive has since informed me that the matter is now in Kemper's hands, and yet I have not received the reimbursement I'm owed. To make matters worse: - I've been trying to reach Austin Aust for updates with little to no response. - I've attempted to contact his supervisor Preston Snow, but the phone line goes straight to voicemail every time. - Months have now passed with no communication or resolution. The only payment I received was $600 for the rental, even though I paid $800 out of pocket. I am still waiting on reimbursement for my deductible, which I had to pay despite being found not at fault. This accident happened in October, and I paid these costs in November. It is now March, and I'm still getting the runaround with no clear answer or timeline. All I'm asking for is the reimbursement that I was told I would receive. I hope this review helps bring attention to the situation so it can finally be resolved. This is the worst insurance company I've ever come across in my entire life. First of all their Customer Service is nonexistent that people treat you terribly. They don't try to help you. They talk to you like what do you expect? It's your fault. Everything is the way it is because that's just the way it is if you don't like it, you can go kick rocks. They also will accept you from a brokerage at one rate then right in the middle of you paying them up by hundreds and hundreds of dollars giving you some phony excuse as to oh they need something to prove that you were not at fault for this or that accident "Huh"! I emailed the adjuster for updates and got no response for weeks. I only received a reply after posting a public review about the lack of communication, but then the responses stopped again. At this point, it feels like you have to call them out publicly and name who's handling your claim just to get a response, otherwise you get ignored. My husband recently was involved in a car accident. We have been working with claims representative KARLA M. (Ext. 149271), who informed us that the decision to find my husband at fault was based solely on his statement and is now final. We strongly disagree with this assessment. My husband is the victim, and we have a witness--a local business owner--who is willing to provide video footage proving that my husband was not at fault. It is very disappointing that we were told it is our responsibility alone to provide evidence after a decision was reached, especially when a thorough investigation should have been conducted. Furthermore, the customer service we have received regarding this matter has been unprofessional and dismissive. While the other driver's vehicle has already been repaired, my husband's truck remains at the body shop due to this mishandled claim. We would like this evidence to be reviewed and the fault assessment reconsidered immediately. Please stay away from this insurance save your money but most of all stay away from careless customer service that they have working here. Horrible, horrible if not worst insurance ever! UPDATE ON CASE; I just received a phone call I had with the manager SHANA LEGNON. During the conversation, the manager was extremely rude and attempted to mischaracterize the situation by suggesting my husband caused the accident to harm himself. I have a recorded statement of my husband explaining the entire situation and his route home, which clearly contradicts these claims. Furthermore, there are witnesses who saw the accident and can confirm that the other driver, who provided false insurance information, was at fault for causing the collision. I am requesting to speak with a different representative who is willing to objectively review the facts and speak with the witnesses. I hope to resolve this matter promptly with someone willing to listen to the evidence. Kemper insurance is trying to claim that my vehicle was involved in their client's collision with ANOTHER VEHICLE. I was not even a witness to what happened to their client's collision with the other vehicle, so i can't even say what happened between their client's collision with ANOTHER vehicle, SEPARATE from me. They been hounding me with calls non stop and letters even though I was not even a WITNESS to what happened to their client. This is unethical and possibly constitutes insurance fraud. I don't know why they are not pursuing the actual vehicle that HIT THEIR CLIENT, and that car's insurance, but I presume it's either INCOMPETENCE or LYING on their part. It is ILLEGAL to misrepresent the connection of my vehicle to their client's collision, or misrepresent my involvement in any way. It is INSURANCE FRAUD I have located multiple other yelp reviews describing situations where Kemper reportedly mischaracterized their involvement in accidents. Kemper Insurance is a fraud, they retaliate against you when you file incident claims that they have to pay- Don't ever get this insurance plus check the % of your deductible because you will still have to pay for what you need to fix even though you pay for insurance monthly. They are rude and not helpful at all. This was retaliation against us to cancel our policy with no valid reason- payment were being made on time- we only found out about the cancelled policy because we reviewed something from the DMV not the policy holder the DMV - they didn't offer anything else- I had 2 cars on it a 2021 with full coverage and a 2017 with liability only. Kemper is a cut rate insurer - pray you don't ever get hit by one of their drivers like I did. And if you pay them to insure you, you get what you pay for. Kemper has no customer service and their tactics are to delay claims as long as possible to mitigate their costs. They don't answer the phone and the phone rings directly to a voicemail that's never checked/returned. They text sparingly but at least the texts can be paper-trailed. A month after their driver running a red light and hitting me, they've still not processed their claim. Thankfully I have great insurance and moved forward with my claim to get my car repaired. I would not have had my car repaired if it wasn't for my insurance taking over. Unfortunately they slow play accepting liability which will affect your out of pocket upfront. I feel sorry for their driver as there is no end in sight if/when he'll get his car repaired (I envision he won't). My insurer will be subjugating costs to them but I expect this to be slow-played by Kemper as well. I worked with Jamain Hargrave who was the adjuster and it was an unpleasant experience full of lies and delays. The only professional part of this ordeal was working with their inspector, Isaiah. They haven't responded to multiple emails or voicemails and make it very difficult to contact someone. After making calls to five separate numbers given by different Kemper employees, no one could take the initiative to follow up with my report, which was to notify Kemper of a reckless Kemper driver; that is, We were driving this afternoon (March 24) at 2:20 pm eastbound on I-10 between Beaumont/Banning, CA and Palm Springs, CA, a black SUV with "Kemper Insurance" banner on the passenger side of the car going eastbound on I-10 began to tailgate our car within 4 feet of our bumper. My spouse sped up to reach 95 mph to avoid this Kemper employee hitting our care and moving over to the next lane when safe to do so; the Kemper employee/agent proceeded to pass our vehicle on the left side and continued to reach a speed of 95+ and tailgating other cars in front of us. My efforts to reach anyone with Kemper Insurance was fruitless, each telephone assister sending me to another employee who offered no assistance and instead forwarding me claims, customer service, etc. with each employee saying there's nothing they could do. One employee gave me the corporate number (800-777-8467), which was the same number I previously called with prompts for customer service, sales, and claims. My car has been in the shop for about 1 month, my adjuster shawntina went on vacation and now that she is back she is telling me that I have to deal with her boss which I was able to get a hold of CARLOS. Since our convo happens he says that he had closed my claim like wow! Why? Another horror story... A person who was insured through Kemper hit my car on the freeway. My insurance (State Farm) said to seek damages from Kemper first, since I only had comp, uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist, as well as liability on my policy. After numerous phone calls and emails to their claims adjuster, I just couldn't get a response. I actually had to file a complaint with the California Department of Insurance to get them to move in a timely fashion, as weeks had gone by with no contact from them. Finally after a month, I received an estimate letter from Kemper that they had finished my claim, which included the damage estimate and instructions on where to find a body shop approved by their company. I bring my damaged vehicle to the body shop, along with the estimate paperwork and they begin work fixing my truck. Then a week later, I receive a second letter from Kemper, stating that they're denying the claim! The body shop stops the work and I have to immediately refile the claim with my own company, while continuing to rent a car. The estimate had a disclaimer inserted, but I unfortunately missed that in reading their 10-page estimate and letter. Now keep in mind that I was hit by their client's car. Their client's driver was cited twice in the accident, and their car was impounded because the driver wasn't licensed. The CHP report clearly indicates their client was fully at-fault in the accident. And yet they are denying this clear, open and shut claim? And this after they already sent me an estimate and tool to locate an approved body shop? Horrible company. Horrible adjuster. Extremely slow and poor communication. They will obviously do everything and anything they can to avoid paying a rightful claim, but have no problems taking their customers' money. I had a minor accident and called Kemper for my police number and they refused to give it to me while at the scene the officer was asking for it so i found it in my email and once we got everything sorted out I called claims dept and had Zaul .L to handle my claim and when I had questions he never answered never called back not even on the 10th voicemail he's so unprofessional and the customer service is awful and have no knowledge whatsoever about actual issues so I'm going to go to another insurance provider because you gave and so terrible at your jobs. read more

I have had a very negative experience with Kemper Infinity. I was recently in a car accident (other vehicle is at fault) I filed a claim with Kemper and the adjuster I was assigned to is Sandra Contreras who has been extremely unhelpful and unresponsive. I had called, emailed, and texted her and it took her more than 72 hrs to get in touch with me, mind you it took all that just to speak to her for the first time after my claim was filed. Once I was finally able to get in touch with the adjuster she informed me if I didn't want to pay the deductible to get my vehicle fixed the other option would be for me to reach out to the person who was at fault insurance and file a claim with them. Never have I heard of that! I informed Sandra that as my insurance they should be contacting the other insurance for me to determine fault amongst each other. She was adamant that Kemper does not do that and stated I would need to call the other insurance and file a claim with them directly. I asked her to connect me with her manger, Monica Romero who I have yet to hear back from. It's been several weeks of time wasted from Kemper. I've been given the run around. There is no urgency on their end to assist me. I have no means of transportation because my vehicle is not drivable. My experience with Kemper has been very poor. read more

I was told the driver who hit me was "excluded" from the policy, and thus my claim was going to be denied. Great - still waiting on that deny letter from Kemper so that I can file for uninsured motorist coverage with my insurance. Surely it shouldn't take over a month to send out a letter? A month later and I'm still waiting for them to close out the claim. Ridiculous. And forget trying to actually reach someone at Kemper. Do not use this company!!!!!!!!! Wow, after ten days I am finally contacted by the adjuster who had not even bothered to review the claim before returning my call. I have been calling and asking can I get a rental and no one will answer me. I keep being told I need to wait for the adjuster. I emailed asking the same thing with no response. Their client hit me 10 days ago and I am without a vehicle. Why did the adjuster even call if she hasn't bothered to look into anything? I told her I am annoyed that this was ten days ago and instead of apologizing she said we have up to 30 days to settle the claim....I am sure they are just as helpful to the insured.
