It's always a challenge when you move to a new area & have to (reluctantly) begin the search for a new place to get your hair cut. "Will they be as good as my former barber / stylist? Will I have to go through a bunch of bad haircuts before I finally find 'the one'?" Anxiety gnaws. If you're in the process of looking, then may I suggest Meg Dudley at the Cut & Colour Bar? Not only reliable, intuitive, & easy-going, Meg possesses a level of expertise that can fairly be described as artisan. She pays attention to the details, and required no "breaking in period" before she got my hair cut just the way I like it. That was the experience of my wife, too, who recommended Meg to me. The Cut & Colour Bar can be found on NASA Parkway nestled between Lone Star Heroes Comics & Maverick Remodeling, near Chelsea Wine Bar. Unpretentious, chill atmosphere, exceedingly clean, & staffed by only well-seasoned, highly experienced stylists. I would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone. Do yourself a favor, & book an appointment with Meg at the Cut & Colour bar. They make it really easy to do so, right from your smart phone (or any other internet-connected device) using the Mindbody app. If you're old-school & like to make an appointment by phone, that's another option of course. Either way, you'll be glad you did.

Haley immediately put me at ease. She was friendly, kind, and incredibly grounding throughout the entire appointment. She took the time to really listen to me, asked thoughtful questions about my routine and what works for my lifestyle, and never once made me feel silly or judged. She also taught me how to diffuse my wavy hair, which was something I have struggled to learn. I left feeling confident, heard, and genuinely excited about my hair. If you're nervous about trying a new stylist, I can't recommend Haley enough.

The last time I was there I asked for my layers to be cut shorter because they were grown out and small bangs. The hairstylist proceeded to 2 pieces of my hair shorter than the rest of it making my hair look choppy and uneven. She didn't even cut me any bangs as-well. My layers looked exactly the same than they looked before just were styled. I never thought I would say this but i will not continue going to this salon which is crazy because I used to love it. I guess the new employees are just not as awesome as the old ones. The only pleasant part of my visit was going to the restroom because it did smell nice in there. I will be finding a better salon in my area.

Have you ever made a decision that made you feel shame? I…read moremade THE worst decision of box dying my hair several times because mid-life crisis I ruined my hair and was so shameful to call my girl Bobo to let her know I was ready to go back to the old me. As you can see from my previous review, my hair was amazing once Bobo did her magic and I ruined it. I knew I could not trust just anyone to bring back to blonder me. I made the call and was honest about the box dye. Bobo was also very honest and let me know that she would do the best she could but mostly importantly she wanted to make sure my hair would not be damaged. She truly cares about your hair and wants to make sure you still get as close to what you want. I'll be honest I was scared the box dye would come out during the bleaching process and make it impossible to look nice. However Bobo knows exactly what to do and worked her magic. Look how amazing it looks so cute full of dimension and full of colors. I mean it, give Bobo a chance to show you what she can do. I could never, ever go to anyone else. Ever.
