I might as well have gone to the Panda Express or Maki of Japan. They had shrimp étouffée and bourbon chicken, but they also had lo mein noodles and egg rolls. Nothing Cajun about this place. I was grossly disappointed by the complete lack of authenticity. All that being said, the food isn't bad in terms of quality. Despite my disappointment, I tried it anyway because why not? I had the combo meal with the spicy jalapeño chicken, and the chicken was actually quite delicious! It wasn't spicy in the way that Cajun food is, but it had a sweet and spicy Asian style hot sauce that was really satisfying. For my sides, I got rice & beans (I guess it was supposed to mimic Cajun red beans & rice?) and cabbage. I wasn't that impressed by the rice & beans, as they were a bit bland. The cabbage was better; it was mixed with small pieces of carrot and broccoli. Unfortunately, the combo meals don't come with a drink...pretty lame. But I got one anyway. Portions are huge. They give you your meal in a standard to-go box, but they pile the food into that box as far as they can without it bursting. My meal came out being just over $9 with the drink, so I'd say the price is pretty reasonable. Honestly, if I knew what cuisine this was before going, it would have gotten four stars (sorry, not five because of the extra charge for drinks). But calling this a "Cajun grill" is what I feel to be false advertising. Next time I'm craving real Cajun food in Nashville, I'll drive farther and pay more at Bourbon Street Blues. read more

This dish had peppers, carrots and spicy sauce, not cajun mind you and came with 2 sides. I chose Rice and Beans and potatoes. Rice and beans had no flavor, the potatoes had a kick, like seasoned salt. The best part were the servers. Very energetic and willing to help and offer samples at every turn. The food itself was good/decent. My son had the spicy chicken and plenty of it. He had the noodles as his side. Another odd item for cajun food. As stated before, seems like a Panda Express with Cajun before it. Really NO complaints as it was cheap, filling, A LOT of food, did not have too much MSG and not bad. Cajun Chicken is pretty spicy, and leaves a bit of a burn (in a good way, if you like spicy food). I get mine on white rice, which you won't see at the counter. You have to ask for it. I was vistiting Nashville and went to your food court stand 11/5/14 about 6pm. I saw an employee offering samples, so I went up to her and asked for one. She told me NO, I already had one. I told her no I did not. She looked at another employee, said something like she was already here. They both said you already had one and would not give me a piece of chicken on a tooth pick. I could not believe it. I am a 60 year old women. I don't need to beg for samples. When my friends and I got to the mall we weren't sure what we wanted. Many stands offer sample and that helps me decide. I have NEVER been treated so rude at any restaurant and mall food court. My friends and I each had a Teriyaki Chicken and Shrimp plate at one of the other stands. When we walked up to that stand we were greeted with a smile and a SAMPLE of chicken. There really is nothing "Cajun" about it: I lived most of my life in Texas, and spent a lot of time in Louisiana, and while not an expert, I do know Cajun food when I taste it.
