It was founded in Revere, Massachusetts in 1951. Growing up on the North Shore in Massachusetts. We spent many summers coming to Revere Beach for Kelly's Roast Beef. I remembering ordering the The Original Roast Beef and the onion rings. It's very nostalgic to me. We were visiting my parents in Venice and drove past a Kelly's on the way to the airport. We had to stop in and try a roast beef sandwich and boy did it not disappointed. One bite and it brought me back to my childhood. The roast beef is sliced fresh in house. The roast beef is very rare and the bbq sauce has a nice little spice to it. You can add cheese and mayonnaise if you want. That's how I always order it and I really like it this way. I ordered the 3 Way Large Roast Beef Special. For those of you not in the know, a 3 Way is BBQ Sauce, Mayonnaise and American Cheese. Next time you go to Kelly's order it as a three-way and they will know what you are taking about. Some people even like my Dad who grew up a neighboring town to Revere and a long time patron of Kelly's didn't know what a three-way meant. I was at the aquarium in Mote earlier in the day and I told my Dad I was looking forward to the three-way later and he looked at me with this umm..okay look and so did the other people around us. I obviously clarified what I meant. Now you know. The service was very good. The cashier was very helpful and attentive. They gave service with smile which is a rare thing these days. She even gave my son a Kelly's Rubber Ducky. That was very nice of her! On Tuesdays, Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult sized meal. We took advantage of this deal as I have a young child. Win-Win! I wanted him to try the Roast Beef Sandwich, but like most young kids they like what they like and he ordered the hot dog special. On a side note, the French fries are perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. I really like the fries at Kelly's and make sure you order an extra side of the BBQ sauce and dip the fries in them.

Where do you start? Friendly staff greet you at the counter while you ponder the extensive menu but their roast beef is why you go at least the first time. It's a nice place not overly large but comfortable tables and booths to accommodate us well endowed fellas. Not loud or noisy which is nice for holding a conversation. The roast beef sandwiches were amazing. Mine was with creamed horseradish, pickle and red onion. Others had combos with cheese and au jus sauce. The fries were done nice and hot and crispy and the onion rings were well done. Order at the counter, take a number and like magic your order will be brought to your table.

Was in Sarasota today and decided to have lunch at Kelley's. I'm from New England and was used to their roast beef sandwiches. Their roast beef is better than any deli could hope to give you. It is very tender and cooked to perfection. You can get different sauces to put on it but i chose the au jus and just dipped the sandwich in it. The bun was toasted as well.

Kelly's has a fantastic roast beef sandwich. I'm a huge fan of it's cousins Chicago Italian beef and buffalo's beef on Weck. They cook. It perfectly and sliced thin. I got mine with cheese bbq and horseradish sauce. It was delicious. Lisa made me feel like family. They also have seafood like lobster rolls, shrimp, scallops and clams. Clean spot and fairly priced. I can't wait for the Parrish location to open. Great place and super nice people.

I really wanted to Love Kelly's but it was a little bit of a disappointment. The quality of the Roast Beef was really good but the temperature was semi warm. It was sort of odd because it wasn't even warm enough to melt the cheese. As another reviewer mentioned the sesame seed bun was somewhat tasteless. The French fries were really disappointing. Somewhat hard but not from overcooking. Just, typical out of a bag frozen fries that had none of the qualities which make them so tempting to most people. The New England Frappe style chocolate shake tasted like frozen ice with chocolate flavoring. A traditional milk shake would be significantly more desirable. The nice woman at the counter pointed out to me (because she heard me say it was my first time) that the clam chowder was a bit thin. She was absolutely correct. It had good flavor but could use a little more body to it. I will probably give Kelly's another try and eat some of the other things on the menu. I just wish I could be more enthusiastic about coming back.

Ordered online and got the roast beef sandwich and lobster roll (maybe crab). But either way, it was A-Maze-Ing!!! Affordable , great service and top notch food!!!

Cold yucky lobster roll! $27 meal that was not edible!

All of our food was Cold! 2 shrimp platters and a lobster roll... this was our first time eating here and had told the cashier that. She never asked (just assumed the lobster roll was cold). Horrible! A $27 meal that literally was unable to be eaten - worse than snotty raw fish. So disappointing- won't even give them a second chance - staff wouldn't even discuss a solution

The roast beef solo is very bland and has no flavor. Adding the BBQ introduces a great flavor and makes for a tasty sandwich. I ordered onion rings but they brought it out with fries.

Not for me. Roast Beef was too raw for my tastes. Didn't care for the gravy either. I wanted to like it. I just didn't.

First, our cocktails were a generous pour and perfectly made. I loved that my dirty martini was shaken and poured table side...plus the shaker with dirty ice and a little extra left for me as well...perfect touch! They definitely "had me at first pour!" Branden our server was awesome...attentive, friendly and very efficent. He was right on. Soups and my salad were delicious. Soups were nice and hot. All of our entrees were over the top delicious. I totally enjoyed the shrimp and grits...we don't get grits up north. Hubby thought his pork chop was Incredible and perfectly cooked. The Seabass also a winner and the crabcake was enjoyable for our fourth person. Usually just one meal is a standout but honestly all meals were standouts...but if I had to pick one it would be the pork chop. The restaurant is very comfortable, modern and a huge bar with comfy booths and lots of tables. Outside dining as well. Parking is tricky if the mall and Restaurants are crowded. I did see valet parking for $10 Saturday night. I would give lots more stars if I could bc this place hit the ball out of the park for us.

We had a few hiccups but the customer service was A+ because of the exceptional service by "Kat". We also had the kitchen manager and manager make our acquaintance to check on our service and meal. My meal was great, I had the 8oz filet mignon with mash potatoes. But my wife had the burger w/o a bun and the cheese. The first one was extremely salty, the second one had the cheese but the third one was perfect. Her side was spinach. We also shared a cocktail which was the blueberry lemon splash, it was very delicious but very strong. Considering that I am not a drinker I had to water it down twice. A drinker would appreciate the heavy handed bartender who made ours. Our server "Kat" was beyond exceptional and very patient and understanding with us.

There was a short wait to be seated, enough time for us to go back to the courtyard and listen to some live music. I had already checked out the menu and knew what I wanted, which was helpful once we were seated in a somewhat dark dining room. They offer more than seafood, but I wanted seafood. They have a Naked Fish section where they offer a few types of fish with many preparation choices. In the end my wife and I both decided on their less expensive Camp Basket and splurged on both a Clam Chowder and a Camp Salad. The chowder was delicious. The serving size was really not large enough to share but we did, and left me wanting more. The salad was fine. The basket was larger than it first appeared with lots of thin cut fries at the bottom. The several pieces of fried oysters and shrimp were flavorful. The basket also had small bites of okra and a fillet of a lightly breaded white fish. Too much food for my wife, enough to fill me up. My plan to try a dessert faded away. Once we paid we headed back to the courtyard to listen to more music before heading out. A very good meal and a pleasant evening, who could ask for more.

The atmosphere was great and the service was very good -- friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. We ordered the fish basket ($24) and the fried tomato BLT sandwich. The fish itself was just okay, but the portions were surprisingly small. It came with fries and what looked like about 2 ounces of coleslaw. Honestly, this basket should have been served with a magnifying glass so I could actually find the fish. My wife's fried tomato BLT was over-sauced and lacked flavor overall. While we appreciated the atmosphere and service, the food quality and especially the portion size for the price left us disappointed. Sadly, we would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
